About this house rental
Situated in Alexander City, this lovely house for $400 per night is a great option for your next break. A completely remodeled, renovated 3 bed and 3 bath home just steps down a gently sloping yard onto a walk board, leads you to the crystal clear water of Lake Martin. A massive oversized pier with 5 loungers gives you plenty of room for laying in the sun or a table for 6 under the gazebo when it’s too hot! Our house gives you plenty of options. On the main level, you will have plenty of room for family in the open great room, kitchen with coffee and wine bar and dining table for 8, seating for 4 at the island gives you lots of options. Down the hall, is a full bathroom, a laundry room, guest bedroom with a queen bed and the primary bedroom with a king bed and private bath at the end of the hall. Down a flight of stairs to the lake level is another bedroom to the right with a king bed and adjacent second living area with queen mattress sleeps 2 on the pullout sofa and a full sized futon. A full bath with shower and door to lake completes the downstairs space!

The home was everything we were looking for, a perfect home for my family. Susan was so accommodating and responsive to my emails. It was exceptional clean, wonderfully decorated, comfortable beds, it had all of the amenities you could ask for in the kitchen, perfect location and beautifully maintained. The home is in a nice and quiet area, fantastic views from the deck of the lake and surrounding area. We had an awesome stay, I highly recommend this home and will be looking to book another it again the next time we visit Lake Martin.

Wow! Beautiful home, beautiful setting. The amenities were great. My family and I were able to really relax and enjoy the long weekend. Whether grilling in the outdoor kitchen or fixing a meal in the spacious indoor kitchen we had everything we needed. Clean? Everything was super clean! We hope to come back and stay again in the future. Thank you Susan for everything.

We had a great time, fantastic house!
Our only feedback is -- it would be awesome if there were a set of smaller salad/dessert plates (we found we had to run dishwasher 2x/day so we had plates to use for breakfast/dinner, & had to eat lunch off of paper towels). And the queen room was harder to get around- would almost prefer no headboard/footboard so it was easier to get in/out! :)

This house is recently renovated and is great for a family with adult children to go to. The bottom level was great for my daughter and her husband and their two dogs! The fact that this lovely property is dog friendly is an added bonus. We hope to come back soon!

We had a wonderful week! We were able to dock our boat and had plenty of time swimming, paddle boarding, and relaxing on the dock.

This location was so beautiful,quiet, and perfect for our trip to Lake Martin! The house was immaculate and well stocked with everything we needed. Communication with host was exceptional. We will be returning to this house on our next trip!!!!! Book it, you won’t regret it!

The lake house is fabulous! Newly renovated, clean, cozy and quiet. One of the best spots on the lake to celebrate the 4th of July and our daughters birthday! The owners are fabulous as well!! We will definitely book again.

This property is nearly perfect. The owner is so thoughtful to provide the basic necessities and so much more. We usually cook most meals, and find that most kitchens are minimally stocked at best. This kitchen was fully stocked, and included plenty of cleaning supplies. They thought of everything! The beds were all comfortable, the deck chairs amazing and the decor very tasteful. The property is at the end of a beautiful, quiet cove, and even on a football weekend remained peaceful. Susan was quickly responsive to every question and request. Thank you for a great weekend! We look forward to returning.

Susan’s home was perfect for our family. The gorgeous, open water view can be enjoyed from the kitchen, deck & dock. We especially loved the grill/TV & eating area outside. The instructions for fans, TV, thermostat were easy & helpful. The beds, oh so comfortable! Susan has special touches throughout the home making it so cozy! She also includes a few “starter” amenities such as dish washing liquid, coffee, sugar, spices, etc… the little things of convenience that make a stay more enjoyable. We also connected to bluetooth on the dock to play our music. : ) Our only regrets were not having cool enough nights to enjoy the fire pit, and we never got to break in the corn hole set ; ) . Thank you, Susan, for your immediate, kind correspondence & for sharing your home with our family!

Great view easy access. Boat parking for bigger boats can be an a little tricky at the top of the hill just have to be careful. Stairs are a little steep but overall great time and great place. Would recommend.

Amazing Stay!
We did a lake trip with our friends and it was a perfect spot! We loved the dock set up, easy access to put our boat by. The lake water was Perfect temperature. Inside the house was very clean and organized. We were able to use the fire pit which was nice at night. Overall our stay was perfect!

There is a reason that we chose this property to come back to. It’s perfect. It’s clean, perfectly stocked and the location is exactly where our family wants to be. The host is punctual and very nice.

Disaster trip
The owner of this home lied outright about the property and her follow up. I reached out to the owner and asked very specifically if the house was in a quiet area and was told (I have documentation) that it was surrounded by older people and permanent residences.
This is not true. The neighbor directly next to them is a party house with a young 20 year old who plays loud music and has her very drunk friends behaving obnoxiously enough that the police were out repeatedly. There is a police report on file for May 14-15th for Mallard Rd with the Alex City police if you want this information verified. The owner also lied and said the police were only called once and the neighbors shut down. If you pull the report you will see the police told the neighbors after the 4th visit the would start arresting people for trespassing, terroristic threats and so forth. The neighbors were over banging on the house after the police were called. Also the house does not have working lights in the back yard, so you cannot see who is out there. This is the only reason arrests were not made, people could not be specifically identified. The door in the basement does not bolt, so we put beds in front of the doors and windows so the neighbors could not enter. We contacted the owner a number of times about what was happening. The owner offered us another property but when we urgently asked for the code, she did not respond ack until we were gone the next day, claiming she had a surgery and took medication that made her pass out. Hmmmm. The owner also claims this has never happened before but I can tell you this house looks like a party house and given the other lies, I highly doubt this is true. Thank goodness the police in the area do their job or someone could have been hurt.
VRBO and the owner refunded 1 night without any fees and we were only able to use the house for 1 night of 4. Beware, she will lie and is extremely defensive about this but still unwilling to do the right thing.
The house is fine, nothing super special but not bad. If it is quiet next door you would probably be fine with the property if she fixes the door and lights.

My favorite place was at the kitchen sink - the view of the lake was incredible! Nice dock area for our boat with marina close by. Master bed was very comfortable. Loved having both a normal coffee pot and a Keurig. We used both.
