About this cabin rental
Nestled in Swannanoa, this attractive cabin for $275 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. If we don't have the travel dates you're hoping for, or you're looking for a getaway with more space, please check out our other cabin (completed Feb 2018). If you've stayed at Lazy Bear Cabin in the past and had a good time, we are pretty darn confident you'll love our newest build, named Jack's Retreat. Take a look! Only a 13 minute drive from Lazy Bear; VRBO/Home Away listing #: 972360. Our 5 acres of land provide the perfect peaceful retreat in the mountains. Long distance views from both the main deck and private hot tub deck will ensure a relaxing, back-to-nature stay. You can forget the cell phones and computers for a true break from the real world if desired...but full cell signal with all known carriers and WiFi allow for reality checks as needed. The driveway is steep and narrow, but all paved except for the flatter parking area, where a 2-to-4-point turn will turn your vehicle around again. For those not comfortable on mountain roads, please take note of the steepness, as it can seem intimidating. But to almost all of our guests, it's just a part of our mountain cabin experience - adding to the adventure! We have 42 steps from the driveway to the front door; for those with mobility difficulties, the steps are not suitable. With all modern amenities, one won't need to leave the cabin, but the surrounding area has so much to offer to the adventurous at heart. Conveniently located less than 20 minutes from downtown Asheville, 12 mintues from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 20 minutes from the Biltmore Estate and Black Mountain, 30 minutes from Chimney Rock/Lake Lure and Hendersonville, this quiet getaway is still close to all the attractions and activities.

Very comfortable cabin for 4 people. Beautiful kitchen is well stocked and we loved grilling out/ cooking and enjoying dinner on the porch. AMAZING views and fantastic sunrises. The driveway was no joke, but we overall had no issue. Only challenge we had was trying to get ridesharing from the house, but the drive into town was only about 20 min. Overall, the house was amazing and we really enjoyed our time. Would recommend it to anyone in the future!

The house was clean and as described. We enjoyed our stay. Close enough to Asheville, far enough away for privacy, and seclusion. The stairs leading up to the cabin are serious, keep that in mind. The owners do have other listings near by. The view from the balcony was amazing! Hot tub worked well, nice generous bath tubs, alawys a plus. Only thing i would mention is the king bed upstairs felt unlevel and the fitted sheet kept popping off the corners of the bed. Had a great time!

I’ve stayed in probably a dozen mountain cabins over the last 10 years, and this is one of the best! Lisa was great to communicate with and has thought of a lot of great touches! The cabin had everything we needed, down to a Bluetooth speaker and ice in the ice trays! Beds were comfortable, towels were great, hot tub was super clean and hot, with easy to follow instructions. The view is beautiful, and the driveway is paved and easy to navigate. Thank you for a great stay!

The owner's little touches in the cabin (gift bag of honey, laundry supplies, etc.) were so thoughtful. Any time I had a question, the owner replied so quickly. The cabin was so clean. I liked that Fairview was small but had lots of nice places to eat and was easy to get to various falls around the area and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Loved this cabin (except the driveway!).

We saw a mama black bear and two cubs, a lynx, and a groundhog. Beautiful trees and views. Very nice cabin, very nice beds, pillows and bedding. Very close to Asheville and Blue Ridge Parkway, and Chimney rock state park. Driveway looks very steep but gave no trouble. We had a great time!!

We had such a great time at the Lazy Bear! It was conveniently located to Asheville and all it’s adventures. The amenities were amazing and they provided plenty of supplies to be able to cook our own meals! We will definitely be back!

First of all, the house was absolutely stunning and the views were amazing. All the little touches made the stay so inviting. The owners even left us a local gift of honey lollipops and honey in the cabin.
Being in a hot tub overlooking the mountains could not have been more relaxing.
I left behind my shirt in the cabin by accident, and Lisa, one of the owners, was kind enough to mail it back to me. Thank you Jay and Lisa for everything! We had an awesome time!

I can't say enough about how great this vacation was. We spent our 25 anniveraary weekend at the cabin. I think we will spend many more because the cabin was perfect, the location, view, hot tub and peaceful environment. Cabin location is perfect between Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway and Chimney Rock. Go to the Local.Joint for.dinner, you won't be disappointed. As noted there are stairs to the front door, but well worth it. If you have a large vehicle back into the driveway, use cameras or family/friend to guide you. Enjoy and we will be back!

Amazing views from the deck and hot tub. Close to town but far enough away. Everything was clean (I work in hotels so I know!). I do believe an all wheel drive vehicle would be smart since the driveway is steep

We really enjoyed our stay at Lazy Bear. Communication with the host was fantastic both before and during our stay. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and has everything you need to enjoy some peace and quiet. You are not in the middle of nowhere but you sure feel like it, which allowed for seclusion but safety knowing things and others weren’t far off. The view was amazing and we enjoyed our evenings in the hot tub. Directions for check in and out stay were very thorough and left nothing to guess. We would definitely love to return!

The Lazy Bear Cabin was immaculately decorated and filled with detailed necessities that made the cabin feel like home. The owners thought of everything that you might need for your stay. The view from the porches was gorgeous, and the hot tub was a perfect ending to the views of the mountainside. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone seeking a relaxing vacation. We loved our stay, and we would happily go back.

Our stay at the cabin has been a wonderful experience. Cabin is very well equipped, more specifically the kitchen has everything you need if you are to cook. Good heating is also something to remark.
Views are impressive, you feel like living alone in the mountains. But at the same time, you are close to Asheville, Smokies, and other places.
I will definitely repeat.

We had an awesome weekend at this cabin. It was so clean and very well stocked. The views are beautiful! I have a large SUV and I did have some difficulty navigating the steep driveway, but after doing it a few times I was more comfortable. I’m not accustomed to driving in mountainous areas so it was a little intimidating. But all in all this house is an absolute gem!!

Third time staying at Lazy Bear and was perfect as always! Perfect location with amazing Blue Ridge views. House is spotless, perfectly maintained and has everything and more than needed for a comfortable stay. Lisa is an amazing host and communicates throughout the week ensuring we had everything needed. Asheville, Brevard, Black Mountain all close by. Mt. Mitchell golf course is world class and a beautiful setting. HIGHLY recommend Lazy Bear.
