Simple Pleasures has 2 bedrooms, and 1 bath. Both bedrooms have Queen size beds and views of the Sound. The cottage has a full kitchen, gas grill and a cozy fireplace and outdoor fire pit. This property is a Saturday thru Saturday rental period

This cabin checked everything off our wish list, close to all our favorite spots on MDI. Easy access to trails, restaurants and small seaside towns. The private pier provided hours of fun fishing with plenty of marine activity to watch on the sound.

We loved the cabin, and especially since it was isolated and on the water. Would have liked a ladder on the dock to make swimming easier. But that is small compared with the sense of being alone in Maine. We will be back.

My three daughters, dog and I stayed over the 4th of July. Was just the place we needed - had everything to make us comfortable. Nice and quiet. Didn’t hear any fireworks ! So close to the park so we could go in and out throughout the day. We loved watching the tide go in and out each day and even saw a jellyfish from the pier!
Hosts super responsive when we had a small issue. Book today !!

This cottage is right on the water, saw dolphins and eagles from the deck and kayak, lobster boats coming right by. It is small and pretty basic, but comfortable and decent kitchen, wonderful big windows to see Somes Sound. It is on the quiet side but easy 15-20min drive to all hiking trails and Bar Harbor, 5mins to SW Harbor which has nice restaurants. we had coffee in the morning and glass of wine in the evening on the deck by the water, loved it, we will be back.

As an elderly couple we are no longer very active. “Simple Pleasures” was an ideal place in that it was all on one level, and we got great pleasure sitting and enjoying the view and the tides.

Central to everything but also secluded and so quiet. Was able to watch the meteor showers from the deck and see shooting stars. Will absolutely be back!

We loved this little place. It was cozy and well equipped. There’s a TV but this place is designed more for enjoying the outdoors. It was a perfect fit for my husband, teenage daughter and me and may be a bit cozy for 4 adult. We loved kayaking and brought our SUP. The water is right under you! Really great.

A small cabin in a secluded area. Lovely and quiet. Great picture window over Somes Sound. Saw porpoise, seal, and I Osprey from the cabin. Would go back for sure.

We enjoyed our stay here. We loved hiking acadia and eating lobster at the restaurants in Bar Harbor. The cabin location was amazing. Full experience being right on a boat yard and watching the lobsterman. We will be back!

Centrally located to all points of interest near Bar Harbor and Acadia. Beds were comfortable. Loves the location. Lots of wildlife to see. Beautiful sunrises. Cottage had everything we needed

The cottage was everything we wanted. Super clean and had all the amenities we could ask for. Close to all the attractions of the Acadia area. The boat yard was fascinating to watch and everyone was very friendly. I would definitely advise people to stay here. Just WONDERFUL!!!!! The Champion's

We loved our stay at Simple Pleasures. I brought my dog and she loved it too. The house is small but clean and had everything we needed. The view is what makes the place. I saw porpoises and a seal swim by and the sunrises were beautiful. We hiked in the mornings and enjoyed lounging on the deck in the afternoons. The beds are super comfortable too. I’m so glad I chose this place.

The Simple Pleasure was everything we asked for and more! The place provided everything we needed, from cookware, to towels, and firewood. The location of the Simple Pleasure was one of a kind! It is located on the Somes Sound and was perfect for kayaking or hanging out on the deck to star gaze. Bar Harbor and Acadia are also 20-30 minutes away from the place. We loved our stay at the Simple Pleasure and cannot wait for the next!

This adorable cottage was everything we hoped it would be and so much more. What a treasure! The location was quiet and private and so convenient to every place we wanted to go.
Inside, the house was cozy and comfortable. The views are spectacular! We certainly appreciated and enjoyed all that was available outside too, the deck, swing, dock, kayaks - so many ways to experience this beautiful spot. Many thanks to the Host and management team for being so professional and generous in answering our questions and sharing information. We just got home and are already talking about a return trip.

This salty cabin sits right on Somes Sound! Kayaks (yours or the ones provided) can be launched from your back yard. There are great outdoor extras like a stone fire pit, picnic table, swinging chairs and a large grill. The kitchen has everything necessary to prepare meals. The views from the large picture windows in the master bedroom and living room are stunning! Although this cabin is right around the corner from an active boatyard, it’s tucked back and private. The location is perfect for exploring all of Acadia. If you want to enjoy an authentic Maine coastal cabin, this is for you!! We loved it 😁

This is our second time staying at simple pleasures and I wouldn’t hesitate to keep booking every year. It has everything you need to make your stay on Mount Desert island comfortable and it’s in the most perfect location on the island for getting everywhere. We did a lot of hiking this time and it was always nice to come back and just relax with our dog that is after she cooled her self off with a dip in the sound. Saw many many deer nearby on our many walks up the street and even saw two huge seals swim by and under the boat dock. All in all another wonderful and peaceful stay in Hall Quarry!

We loved our week at Simple Pleasures. The cottage is just the right size and stocked with absolutely anything you could need. Looking at the map in advance we were worried it would feel like we were staying in the boat yard but the house itself feels totally secluded and private- and the view from the bed is the best I’ve ever had on a vacation. Made it hard to want to get up in the morning!
