On the other end of the spectrum, rafting, hiking, biking, skiing and boarding (Copper Mountain is a 45 minute drive, Monarch is 45 minutes away, and Vail is 1 hour, and Ski Cooper is 30 minutes), and fishing are all easily accessible. In the summer, a beautiful drive over Independence Pass (which is closed in the winter) will get you to Aspen in 1 hour.
