Indulge in the beauty of the Finger Lakes at our charming cottage, nestled on the east shore of Seneca Lake. Just eight miles south of Geneva, our haven promises an unforgettable retreat with breathtaking sunsets and a private lakefront oasis. We are proud of being an original member of VRBO, number 168 and joined over 20 years ago ! KEY FEATURES: • Comfortable Living: Our fully air-conditioned and heated cottage features a well-equipped kitchen, cozy living room with a stone fireplace, and a dining area. Entertainment options include a 32-inch Cable HDTV, Blu-ray/DVD player, and streaming services like Netflix. The cottage is well off the road with plenty of parking. • Restful Sleep: Experience true comfort in the master bedroom with a king-size bed, furnished with a Serta hotel-quality mattress. If you do not have king sheets we will provide them for you (complimentary). The second bedroom offers 2 sets of bunk beds; one with a double bed on the bottom, twin on top and the second with 2 twin beds. The second bedroom also has cable TV with a DVD/VHS player is also available. • Outdoor Bliss: Step outside to a unique roofed patio overlooking the lake, complete with an outdoor fireplace, propane grill, Adirondack chairs, and picnic table. Just steps from the patio experience a deck with comfortable outdoor seating providing a perfect spot to enjoy the lake and the fresh lake air. You will find our front and back yards meticulously landscaped with a beautiful display of flowers, foliage, and plenty of green lawn. • Waterfront Delight: Enjoy lakefront living with only six stair steps to lake level where you will enjoy your own private dock and lake entry. The lake depth off the dock is two to three feet. The depth deepens very gradually as you go out. A bit further out, enjoy our swim float which is anchored in about five feet of water. First of all. Communication with Joe Rao (the owner), even before our stay, was excellent! A true gentleman. When my wife and I finally got to meet him upon our arrival, it was like meeting a long lost friend. He couldn’t be more accommodating with anything we needed, which was very little. Joe & his wife Pat had every necessity we needed there.
The cottage…it was so clean, you could eat off the floors. Over the years, my wife & I had stayed at so many places. You can tell when someone takes great pride in providing lodging. Joe & Pat are these people. The decor was so nice. Their attention to detail is spot on. They even had a framed welcome picture with our names on it, hanging on the wall in the kitchen as you walk in. That was such a wonderful touch. They had a three ring notebook full of information about the whole area (ie. Attractions, wineries, breweries, distilleries, eateries, etc.). They even had instructions for things for the cottage.
The cottage was a good size. We enjoyed fires in the fireplace and watching tv late at night. (There is also an outside fireplace). Very little steps to walk down to Lake Seneca. The view from this cottage to the lake is outstanding.
Location was excellent for exploring wineries & breweries. We even went to explore The Gorge in Watkins Glen.
My wife and I are already planning another trip to the Finger Lakes. At least we know where we will be staying.
We highly recommend this lovely cottage.

We had a really nice stay at Joe's cottage. Right on the lake, great view! Got up and had our morning coffee by the lake. Centrally located to all the things to do in the area.
Joe was easy to reach and responsive and also provided fresh tomatoes and basil.
And, when we discovered we had left our jackets behind, he mailed them to us!

We were looking for a central location on the water and this cottage delivered. The cottage is small but ideal for a couple or family. It was very clean and had all the little extras that made it a great place to come back to after a day of hiking or biking. There are several options of places to sit for morning coffee or afternoon wine. The owner was extremely friendly and help make our stay so enjoyable. Next time we want to come at a different time to enjoy some of the great water activities available. A perfect vacation spot!

The cottage was exactly as advertised plus a great place from which to explore the region...especially Lake Seneca and Lake Cayuga. If you need a place just to sit and watch the water and enjoy sunsets this is it! Owner Joe was very welcoming and accessible. Stay here!

The place is small but immaculately clean. The owner, Joe, was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is wonderful with only a short drive to Watkins Glen and Taughonnack State Park for hiking. There are also wineries and breweries and great restaurants nearby.

What you see is what you get! This was the perfect cottage for me and my fellow travelers. We felt at home the moment we walked in the door. With the owner right next door, anything we needed was available. Allowing us to do our own cleaning was also a bonus--the cleaning fee savings is well worth it! We would definitely stay here again. We were looking for a nice little cottage on a lake for a long awaited anniversary celebration. This was perfect! Right in the heart of wine country (for me) on a lake with great fishing (for hubby)! The property was exactly as described. Very comfortable cozy cottage just steps from beautiful lake Seneca! The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay - the bed was quite comfortable- the kitchen has all essentials and then some. Very well kept and since it was October we definitely needed the heat at night. Joe’s new heat pump unit works beautifully. And you couldn’t find a nicer more gracious host. We spent a half day fishing with Joe too! Caught my first lake trout ever … great experience and just magnificent scenery. In addition to the excellent wineries in the area we discovered several great restaurants right in nearby Geneva. It was a very relaxing and stress free week. Hope to make it back again some day!

We had a great time at Seneca Lake and the surrounding area. Joe and Pat have an perfect lakefront cottage with everything you will need to feel right at home. The deck and dock are perfect for coffee, swimming, happy hour and sunsets. The property has beautiful flowers all around and a garden from which we were welcomed to help ourselves. The breezes and sunsets were so relaxing and we felt a warm welcome right away!! The area is gorgeous with lots to do. Waterfalls, wineries and breweries were fun and the lake was warm and so clear! Thank you Joe and Pat!!!

Joe, the property owner, is great - super responsive, very helpful and very nice. The cottage was immaculate and well taken care of. A little quirky of a layout (no door between main bedroom and living room and second bedroom reached through main bedroom) but worked ok for us. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen well-stocked. Very quiet. And the view! Cannot say enough about the view! The sunsets were incredible! They seemed to last forever. The location was excellent. About 15 minutes to Geneva, with wineries and breweries even closer. The drive to Watkins Glen State Park (which is a must see) is about 45 minutes with wineries and breweries all along the way. We had Joe captain our fishing trip with his charter company and was a great time with all of us catching fish. And our sons very much enjoyed the tubing behind his boat that he offered for free (thanks Joe!). All in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We hope to go back!

Super cute camp with the most amazing waterfront set up! Joe was the perfect host, checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed and even supplied us with the necessities to fix our boat trailer. Thanks Joe! We can't wait to stay again!
