About this house rental
Nestled in Mar Vista, this charming house for $1,166 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Indulge in a fabulous luxury house, fully renovated in 2022 with all modern amenities, heated salt water pool, integrated waterfall spa, and detached soundproofed music studio with drums, piano, guitar, mics, and PA suitable for karaoke with your device. The premises has high speed mesh wifi, and the entertainment den features Frontier's Ultimate cable package including HBO, ESPN, and more. This is an entire villa, not a condo or townhome, and you will have sole and exclusive occupancy of the entire premises, including entire grounds and both buildings. Ride the bike path right from the house, just minutes from VENICE BEACH, SILCON BEACH, SANTA MONICA, and more! The property is surrounded by parks, golf, tennis, and many of L.A.'s greatest attractions. With four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and 2200 square feet between the main house and detached studio, there’s plenty of room for you and your guests to spread out and be comfortable. There are three queen beds, two twin sized beds, a futon sofa couch, and a sectional sofa. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE. No visitors are allowed at any time other than the registered guests, and the registered guest count cannot be exceeded at any time. The maximum occupancy is 8. This limit does not only apply to sleepovers - but to visitors AT ANY TIME. The home has two unique offerings. The music studio, with its vaulted ceilings and multiple isolation booths, is a part of Los Angeles music history. It was created by one of the founders of the band, Trotsky Icepick, in the mid-1980's, and used at times by Paramount Records. In 1989, the property was sold, and the studio fell into neglect. Purchased and refurbished by the current owner in 1996, this studio home hosted Venice fixtures Ballyrag and Squick, the engineers of Groovetree Recording, and Nova Blue, and many others. Engineers have tuned the sound room over the decades with baffles and foam to produce a perfect sound ambiance beloved by recording artists, engineers, and DJ's alike. In 2017-2018, it was used for several months by the world famous band, Rufus Du Sol. They created a promo shot on the property, which is the video shown on this listing. Please note, their gear is their own, and is not included in rentals of this property :-) The studio comprises 600 square feet, with a live room, control room, isolation booths, triple-pane glass window between rooms, and silent pro quality ducted air conditioning. It can alternate as office space, a yoga or meditation studio, or whatever your imagination can summon. The other standout feature of the home is the newly constructed modern salt water pool. It features a waterfall infinity spa, multiple shelf levels, and a diving deep end. Pool maintenance is normally on Tuesdays and Fridays, and landscape maintenance is on Wednesdays, during the day. Check in time in 4pm, check out time is 11am. Please ensure your guest count is accurate. Guests include all persons on premises, whether sleeping or visiting. These rules are in strict accordance to insurance and liability obligations, and city licensing. Rates are for up to 8 persons, extra guests are $25/day. Occupancy is determined by persons on premises at any time. ID of booking person must be provided within 24 hours of booking, along with a list of names of all visitors.

Enjoyed our stay. Nice residential area but close to Venice beach and Santa Monica. Kids loved the recording studio and pool is great to have. Some useful stuff provided such as tea and coffee. A slight issue was responded to.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this place. The host was very accommodating and made sure that everything was just the way we liked it. The location was so convenient to Venice, Santa Monica and Malibu Beach. We enjoyed every day seeing something new and coming back and relaxing in the pool and hot tub! My entire family said they can’t wait to come again. Thanks for making it such a rememberable experience for us!

The house was exactly as advertised and we truly enjoyed it. The property manager made the check in process streamlined and easy.
The only minor drawback was the TV with Apple TV as the solution and the WiFi seemed to not be quite strong enough to stream the basketball game.

This was a great find. A wonderfully appointed house in a leafy neighbourhood - the house had everything you would need. The pool is heated and perfect size (although didn't use it muck due to being cool and overcast - which was quite shock compared to Indio where we came from visiting Coachella and Stagecoach).
The kitchen has everything you want including coffee provided FOC and large usable appliances you would expect in the US- including laundry facilities.
Parking is easy, there is a carport - but as we had a large vehicle we parked at front (but remember to park facing the right way or you get a ticket as we found out!).
Overall a great stay- we were over from the UK and managed to get a lot of collaboration / meetings done in the morning whilst on UK time. Visited some great spots such as Shutters, Malibu Farm and Beach and Brew.

This house is terrific and the pool/hot tub is a real bonus. The living area is nice and open....terrific sunlight throughout. The kitchen well stocked. Updated bathrooms with plenty of hot water. Comfortable bedrooms.The outdoor space is beautiful. Easy to get anywhere on the Westside. Would definitely stay again!

I went to LA to visit my brother with my parents and three children 6 and under. The house was perfect for all ages! The neighborhood was great, the house was very well stocked with everything we needed, the hosts checked in to make sure all was well. Excellent service and an excellent house! We hope to rent again on our next west coast trip!

The space was great including the kitchen and dining area and family room with sufficient bedrooms and bathrooms. The fam loved the pool and hot tub and the outdoor space was also great to use. The kitchen was very well equipped; we prepared a number of meals during our 9 night stay. We really appreciated the provision of the paper products as well as bath gel, shampoo and conditioner in all the bathrooms. Linens and towels, including kitchen towels, were provided and of good quality, as were the dishes and glassware. I would highly recommend the property for a group of 6-8 (we had 6). The location is also great if you plan to visit LA attractions, including Venice Beach and other nearby beaches. I only gave the neighborhood 4 stars because there was some noise next door, which the property manager addressed quickly. Overall, the neighborhood was very nice and street parking was fine, but we usually put our vehicle in the carport. Did not use the studio.

Lovely, well maintained, modern house. The house was comfortable and well stocked. We enjoyed the pool and our family had a singalong in the studio. Of all the home rentals we have had, we have never had a more attentive, accommodating owner. Highest praise for

Relaxing
This is a relaxing and quirky property (Pool, piano AND recording studio) in a very convenient location for much of LA. The rooms are comfortable although the single bed with pull-out option is not for tall people! Otherwise the house is well equipped, certainly for a relatively short stay. Although the road outside is busy during the day, it is quiet at night, adding to the air of peace the house has.

When we arrived, the cleaners hadn't been there (unrelated to our slightly early arrival). We had to wait for an hour and a half until they arrived. All of which would have been forgivable - but the owner's response to our complaint was not particularly nice. He "forgave" the cleaning fee (hardly optional - the house hadn't been cleaned!!) but we felt some additional token to make up for a very bad start would have gone a long way to making us feel better about things. Other aspects of the house were ok though not quite as glamorous as the photos suggest.

The best times at this amazing house!!!
Loved staying at Dan’s house! The pool and jacuzzi are fabulous, and we had a fun jam in the studio with the provided guitar. The house blends modern and retro styles, and with four bedrooms there was plenty of privacy for our group. Dan and his co-hosts were always helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!
