About this house rental
Situated in McKinney, this lovely house for $925 per night is a great option for your next trip. When we are not hosting events at The Melissa Barn we open our home and property up for lodging. Our home is 4 bedroom 2 baths and can sleep 12. For additional fee we can open up our RV to accommodate 4 more guest. Reach out to see if our home is available for your stay. Our Weekend getaway package is for 2 nights of lodging up to 14 guest and up to 2 events on our property. You will have your own private estate to host your wedding and guests. Our new barn has a unique rustic/elegant flare with a capacity of up to 130 people. Exterior of the barn is Western Red Cedar and Oklahoma Chop Stone that is stacked with no mortar joints. Interior features100 year old barn wood, Oklahoma Chop stacked stone, floor to ceiling Austin Chalk stone fireplace, Polished concrete floors, large men's/women's bathrooms, prep kitchen, bar, and covered outdoor areas. Our outdoor ceremony area is private with a 50 foot walk way to a covered Arbor. We just updated our Ceremony site with artificial turf. Plenty of photo oops at our landscaped meandering crushed granite pathway that crosses over a bridge leading to 10 foot arched Cedar gates. Home is fully furnished and equipped with a warming kitchen, bath towels and linens. The pool area is surrounded by a large privacy fence and a beautiful Cedar Cabana. We look forward to your stay! Group of 12 men in town for a sports tournament, this property was excellent and just what we needed. Excellent overall experience in renting, communication with the owner, amenities and cleanliness. A nitpicker would find something to complain about, but that’s not our group. We enjoyed every minute, and will look at the Melissa Barn first on our next visit to Texas!!

Great property in a great location. Quiet and private, we enjoyed our trip for a family get together for the weekend. Great communication with property owner. The grandkids really enjoyed the pool and the games provided. We would definitely return. You won't be disappointed.

Perfect Girl's Getaway
The property was the perfect backdrop for our college reunion. We were all very comfortable with the house and found the outdoor spaces perfect for our group. Texas Treasure
This house is beautiful with many adult games to play like darts, billiards and ping pong. The only negative is that the pool is not heated so we could not take full advantage of the incredible back yard. Also, there is a quirk to the house. The Master bathroom has double glass French doors which gives zero privacy. The bedroom door lock does not work so a few of us had people walk in on us while in the shower. Other than that, this property is a dream for a layed back family vacation.

The grounds are beautiful and the back lot has a beautiful event venue for Weddings, Private Parties, etc.....Would definitely recommend!!

Fantastic property

Amazing
From my first inquiry to my last contact with Darrell, the entire process was 150% excellent. Darrell was patient,considerate,accommodating, simply on point! The property, the home allowed our family to have an amazing time and to celebrate thanksgiving as if we were at home. The adults and kids all had a wonderful time, from constant pool games to ping pong, basketball and even the polar plunge in 36 degree weather! Our family will definitely be visiting again!

Spent the weekend with family and friends. The house was large and comfortable enough for the the eight family members. Had my son’s rehearsal dinner in the barn with approx. 80 in attendance. Great property and a great weekend.

Great entertaining home!
We had a wonderful time with our family during our one week stay. House was perfect, very comfortable! A fantastic pool and cabana area. Large yard for all kinds of activities with the grandkids, pool table in house for the adults and foosball, darts etc in garage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Darrell and his sister were so nice and very easy to communicate with. Highly recommend this property!

Perfect for family fun!
We had an excellent stay! The owners were excellent to work with and were very helpful with anything we needed. The property is perfect for relaxing and/or play time. The house offered indoor games, plus outdoor games/balls/equipment and even pool toys. We were very pleased and enjoyed it!
And finally, THE BEDS WERE SO COMFORTABLE!!! We all slept great!

Fantastic Stay for 4 Families on a Team Trip
Our daughter's softball team was in Dallas / Plano for a tournament and this house was a perfect fit to make the stay a little easier and more enjoyable. We had 4 families (6 adults, 8 kids) and we all fit comfortably. Much better than a hotel, and you get home cooked meals with friends every day.
The RV bunkhouse was way better than I expected. Cold AC, TV, super comfy beds and another full bath. There's also another half bath out by the pool. I count 3 full baths and 2 half baths when you include the RV and pool house.
The house was stocked with plenty of games, towels, kitchen stuff, etc. Just bring your food and drinks. We couldn't find a toaster or flat baking sheets, but that was about it.
The owner was super helpful and easy to deal with. It was about a 15-20 minute drive to Plano. The traffic wasn't too bad, it just gets congested right before the PGBT 635 interchange. I will certainly stay here again if the need arises.

Wonderful Wedding!
The owner was more than accommodating and gave our family and friends a wonderful venue to host our daughters wedding. The property is beautiful with many outdoor activities to take care of everyone and a refreshing beautiful swimming pool to cool down. We could not have asked for a more enjoyable and relaxing country setting for our special day. Thank You Darrell!!!!

Perfect!
We absolutely LOVED our stay in the house! None of us had heard of Melissa, Tx when we booked it but we couldn't have been happier with the outcome. Everything was clean and ready when we got there. Darrell was such a sweetheart to our the entire family and very accommodating! He made sure the bunk house was ready for the my in-laws to stay in, which worked perfectly! My entire family wanted to be together for Father's Day and to celebrate my in-laws anniversary and it was the perfect place for our celebration! We took some beautiful family pics with the gorgeous landscape all around the house. All together our stay was exactly what we wanted! We will be back!

Amazing Country Estate
We loved our stay in Melissa, while it’s only 5-7 minutes from McKinney you get the feel of being out in the country. The home was perfect for our family that was in town for our daughters wedding. There was plenty of indoor seating and an amazing backyard with a beautiful pool. The outdoors had plenty of spaces to wander and places to sit! While we did not use the facility for our daughters wedding, it is a great venue for that. We had several family members comment that they would be looking at it for future weddings. As for my husband and I, we would totally rent again to just get away from big city life.

Great Vacation Home
We had two families stay here due to the location being close to a wedding that we were attending. There was lots of activities at the house with the pool table, ping pong table, darts, etc.
We all had a great time and plan to rent the house again in the future.

The booking process was very easy and Darrell responded very quickly to our queries.
The house is well kept and clean with spacious rooms. Great location and McKinney is a great town with plenty of eating options, particularly in the historical centre with great restaurants for breakfast and dinner. Special mention for Harvest. Great food.
The pool is large and has a very deep end which is great for the kids to jump/dive into. There was a small jacuzzi which Darrell had problems with and we didn't get much use of it which was disappointing as this was one of our favourite things to do after a long hot day to sit and look at the stars. A larger jacuzzi would definitely benefit the large pool.
Darrell was always available to answer any questions and reurned the security deposit very promptly.
It would help greatly if there was an information book on how everything worked as it took a while to work out the TV. Other info about the area and restaurants, supermarkets would also help. A visitors book would also be good as we could have added where we went shopping and restaurants/cinemas and other tips which worked for us.
Would definitely recommend the home and nothing was too much trouble for Darrell

The house it's absolutely spectacular me and my husband were looking for a perfect location for an outside wedding and we found it. Our family absolutely enjoyed every single minute in that house the pool and the cabin outside were really cool and it was the perfect spot for the Dallas summer days. We had a fabulous wedding there everybody was raving about how beautiful everything was . Darell helped us with a lot of things even brought us hay bales for the wedding he is great everything you need you just need to ask. The house has absolutely everything plates, towels, coffee makers all the amenities so you can make yourself at home the minute you enter. We had a great time with our family, the ranch can easily accomodate 10 people.

This ranch house was AMAZING!! I threw a graduation/birthday party for my boyfriend and his best friend the second week in May and it was a great turn out. When we arrived, the house was clean and it had a few necessities in case you forgot something. Everything was easy to use and find. The rooms were neat and the backyard was one of the greatest backyards ever. The owner also allowed us to use his smoker to smoke our bbq. Our guests enjoyed themselves and so did we; everyone raved about how great of a house this was. The owner was available to answer all questions/concerns I had, so that was a plus. We had a blast; it was a very relaxing place to be and we really enjoyed ourselves; it was a great way to celebrate both events with a beautiful view/house and friends/family. And to top it off, my boyfriend became my fiance at this house; I will never forget these memorable moments!! Thank you for allowing us to celebrate at your ranch house

We had a great 4 day stay. The home and grounds are beautiful. Everything you would need is furnished. Outdoor space was wonderful, clean and in excellent shape. You can really tell that this home is well cared for. Not only the accomodations were wonderful but also the rental support we received. Darrell was very attentive to our needs but was never intrusive. We ventured out a couple of evenings to try some local restaraunts, and town (McKinney, Allen, PLano) are just minutes away. All in all a wonderfull stay at a simply great property!
