Pamper yourself . . . you'll be glad you did! The setting is Princeville on the lush north shore of the "Garden Island." The neighborhood is a small collection of custom homes that share a well maintained swimming pool and tennis court. The views are verdant gardens speckled with the colors of tropical flowers and exotic plants against a backdrop of majestic mountains formed millions of years ago. This is an air conditioned two-story home of 3200 square feet with a large great room, half-bathroom, kitchen and the master suite upstairs. There is an upstairs living room. The master suite has a TV. Downstairs there are two bedrooms, a large living/family room, a den/office and two bathrooms. So, there is plenty of room for everyone to gather together as well as space for anyone to spend quiet moments with a good book or other peaceful endeavor. Your home away from home was totally renovated recently and has been designed and furnished with great attention to detail. The exquisite hardwood and marble floors as well as the granite counters in the kitchen and vanities in the bathrooms are both luxurious and practical. Much thought has gone into the furnishings and over-the-top amenities throughout Orchid Hale; one excellent example is the generously equipped gourmet kitchen. In addition to the essentials like sauce and frying pans, baking dishes and other ovenware, cooking utensils and dishes, you will find an big assortment of small appliances such as a coffee grinder, panini grill, pressure cooker, and slow cooker, to name just a few. The chefs in your group will be delighted! You may want to check out the Sunshine Markets (farmers' markets) that happen in a different town each week day. That's a great place to find fresh produce to include in your meal plans. And, if you would like to dine out during your stay, there is a nice variety of cafes and restaurants right in Princeville as well as in the neighboring town of Hanalei. The furnished office downstairs has just what you need in case your visit is partly a working vacation: desk, scanner, large monitor, wireless printer and printer paper. The powerful wireless router is easy to access wherever you are in the house with whatever device you choose. While you are working, the kids and others in your party can play badminton, croquet and volleyball in the spacious back yard. And indoors, there are board games, a Play Station 3 System with a few PS3 games, an assortment of DVDs you can play on the Blu-Ray/DVD and watch on the 73" TV in the downstairs family room or the 63" TV upstairs in the living room. You may even want to watch some of the movies that have been filmed on Kauai over the years. Just diagonally across the street are the swimming pool and tennis court. Nearby is Makai Golf Club with its wide open spaces and nicely manicured fairways and greens. Even non-golfers can appreciate the ocean and mountain views along the course. Those who enjoy the game will want to challenge themselves on this recently renovated 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. There are many beautiful north shore beaches within a short drive of Orchid Hale. We strongly recommend swimming at beaches with a life guard. Other activities nearby include kayaking, horseback riding, fishing, surfing, windsurfing, helicopter flightseeing tours, hiking, seasonal swimming, snorkeling and tropical botanical garden tours. House was very well stocked, from beach supplies to kitchen pans and utensils. Location was convenient to Princeville amenities and resorts. Price was a bit high with a high cleaning fee and VRBO fee.
Only negatives were spotty WiFi (the house has 3 separate networks) and none of them reached into bedrooms well. And toilets would often run continuously or leaked a bit. They definitely need a little maintenance. Otherwise the place was awesome

We went in with reasonable expectations. But when we opened the front door, we were WOWed!!! It is unbelievable. What a beautiful home. So much attention to detail, from the artwork, the furniture, everything. The layout was incredible. Our first 4 days of our trip was nothing but non stop rain, and this was the perfect home for being “stuck”. The gourmet kitchen made you want to cook! Our kids loved the backyard, as did I. This felt like a $3-$5m home. And it probably is! Sub-Zero refrig and other high end appliances. And the best part, your own garage! Most owners don’t give you access to the garage. These owners do! Mahalo! Made it easy to get into the home with it it getting rained on. And your garage is impeccable. We also enjoyed doing some washes of the kids clothes the high- end washer and dryer in the garage. The beds... one word. Heavenly. Best sleep of my life. My wife’s and kids didn’t want to get out of bed!!! And the floor to ceiling windows with the majestic view of the Hanalei mountains with waterfalls, and the most serene backyard with this amazing canopy tree. Can’t say enough. We will return. No question.

We love the Princeville area. Orchid Hale is a huge house, well designed, with an amazing yard. Walking distance to pool, golf, tennis. So many great beaches nearby. Most require a short hike but you are rewarded at the end. Secret beach is amazing. Perfect for a family of 6-8, or 9 if you have 3 small ones. My wife and I stayed in the master upstairs, so much room and privacy. Our kids and grandkids stayed in the two bedrooms downstairs and the oldest slept on a roll away in the office. There is also a pull out in the downstairs FR. They were a little crowded but didn’t complain. Huge kitchen and great room upstairs. Air conditioning was essential and worked well. I would stay here again.

I cannot say enough good things about this house. It is very large with plenty of room to spread out, clean, beautiful, and has everything you need for your stay (except shampoo and body soap). The yard is gorgeous with so many flowers and fruit trees. The neighborhood is centrally located and so very nice. So many places to walk or jog. You are just a few minutes from a grocery store, gas, and shops/restaurants. Tons of beach supplies including chairs, umbrellas, mats, etc. The kitchen is so well stocked - we were able to host 13 people for a post wedding dinner easily. The master bedroom is upstairs separate from the two bedrooms downstairs. Each level has its own living area and there is an office downstairs. The A/C works perfectly- no hot spots. We would book this house again for sure. It just made our visit to paradise even better!!!

Kauai is our favorite place in the world. We love this island and her people. We first came in 1998 and we try to come back every year. We enjoyed days on Anini beach or. Hanalei bay. In the evenings we had wonderful meals at the Dolphin, Tiki Aniki , and Happy Talk, 3 of our favorite spots.Orchid Hale is a well appointed home located in Princeville. The only thing previous visitors did not show the gas grill much love,it was pretty sad. The dryer was on the fritz, the homeowners were working on getting a new one.These things did not detract from the rest of the home or the beautiful well maintained property it sits on. This is a great rental for families. We had our almost 2 year old granddaughter with us, she loved playing in the yard and the park just up the road. There also is a community pool and tennis courts for you to enjoy.The house also had beach chairs, towels, sand toy, yard games and more!This home and island has so much to offer we would highly recommend it.

This home is close enough to walk to Queens bath, Hideaway beach and the country club. Plenty of room and lots of games to play. Foodland is a short drive away and has everything you need for your stay. My only suggestion would be to maybe add a ping pong table in the garage for the rainy days.

This was a gorgeous house, like you were in the middle of a rain forest with all the windows and birds and plants outside. Easy walk to the pool and tennis courts which were literally across the street. We spent the day hiking all the nearby trails and beaches then shaved ice and home for the evening . Very relax full vacation with family . Will visit again.

My extended family (5 adults including all age rages plus 1 four-year old) rented Orchid Hale for a week. We were a little nervous going into it, convinced that there was going to be a mismatch of some kind between our expectations and reality, but if anything, the listing and photos *undersold* the property's charm and utility, especially at this pricing.
For one thing, it's a big house. Perfect for a multi-generational family trip. The folks who get the master suite are golden. The folks in the two smaller downstairs bedrooms will be fine, though nothing to get excited about. But the rest of the house is perfect for sharing: big open spaces, a good kitchen for cooking and eating together as a family.
The outside was great too: the garden is interesting and exotic, there's a good patch of grass for badminton/croquet/etc., and there's a nice big grill too.
The shared community pool was adequate. It's a good size, but likely needs work if they're being honest about it (multiple tripping hazards, broken gaskets, loose railings) though nothing that kept us away from it. Plus we essentially had it to ourselves.
The tennis court was super nice, having been recently refurnished. They have rackets and some (admittedly old) balls in the house you can use.
All in all, I fully recommend and would go back!

Wow! As a celebration for my oldest son’s college graduation and a belated celebration for my youngest son’s high school graduation, we spent a week in Kauai! We stayed at Orchid Hale and the place impressed us all, there was definitely the WOW factor when we arrived! August 2019 Stay
Aloha this was some of our groups first and some second time but first for staying on the North Shore. This is such a fantastic place for kids ours are seven and four. We enjoyed riding boogie boards and snorkeling at Tunnels Beach, Hanalei Bay and Haena beach. Our boat ride to the Napali coast was the highlight force sure. We enjoyed some of the best dinners at the dolphin, Happy Talk and Kalypso. This is such a well suited home for families and groups, we enjoyed it so much! There isn’t anything that was overlooked. Our kids are so upset to leave and we will for sure be back despite the long flight. Thank you so much! Mahalo Kauai, we can’t wait to come back.

Aloha! Our 2 weeks here in Princeville has just flown by!
This home is amazing, beautiful and so cozy. I love all of the beautiful artwork, spacious & well appointed kitchen & amazing views from every room.
We created so many memories at the home. My children (7 & 4 years old) Loved the keyboard. They played Celine Dion’s “My heart will go on” and I will remember forever.
The home is so nice, the yard, plants, geckos, etc. - we didn’t even turn on the TV at all!
What a magical place.
We walked to the Princeville resort for sunset dinner & sunrise breakfast. They have the most amazing view.
The kids loved playing at the park & we used the park exercise equipment.
Thank you for all the notes around the house, labeling everything was very helpful.

Our family has used VRBO many times, and this is definitely the best appointed home we have ever stayed in. The mountain views are beautiful and the home is peaceful and serene. We frequented local farmers markets and the kitchen had EVERYTHING we needed for beautiful Hawaiian meals. There were lots of nice touches from both homeowner and property management company.

Beautiful home
We just got back from our vacation to Kauai. This home was everything we hoped it would be. We probably would have tried to stay even longer if it hadn’t already been rented.... Plenty of room for 2 families, beautiful furnishings and comfortable beds. No need to bring that pillow from home 😊�. Big back yard that the kids played whiffle ball in each night. AC worked fantastic which in the summer you definitely need as we had very little trade wins in the North Shore area while we were there. It is hot and humid and rains every day at some point in this region so yes you need AC. I would stay here as opposed to other areas of the island as it’s so lush and tropical.The property management company was so helpful with tips on places to go and how to access them in the North Shore area as well. The home is well stocked with extras such as beach chairs, coolers, family games, spices for cooking and every cooking gadget you could imagine needing. Everything was labeled making putting things back so much easier. We had gorgeous views of the mountains and walked to beaches like Hide Aways for snorkeling and Queens Bath for the experience of a lifetime.Each were only a half mile away and parking is minimal, making the ability to walk to each perfect! Thank you for sharing your home with us, it is beautiful.

Well-equipped beautiful home!
Our family had a great stay over Thanksgiving. The hosts have put a lot of thought into making the stay a great experience -- thorough labeling, a fantastically-stocked kitchen, and lawn games are just a few of the touches we appreciated. The garden is lovely and the kitchen happily accommodated many Thanksgiving chefs at once!

Gorgeous, gigantic, great!
We were so impressed with this beautifully appointed home--and it's really a home. Everything from a FULLY-equipped kitchen to sports equipment to a light-up makeup mirror in the master. Partial view of Bali Hai, huge back yard, and lovely landscaping. The two-car garage is even immaculate, which tells me the owners truly care about maintenance. All the appliances are top-of-the-line, fully functional and brand-new. We'll be back next year!

Really a special place
So many little special touches elevate this place and the Property Manager above the rest. The home itself is spectacular and spacious. It's beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you need and more. Clearly someone loves their home. One example of the special touches - there was a box of different sized water shoes in the garage for guest use...which came in very handy when I forgot mine. We had a very memorable time here with our two girls celebrating our 30th.

Beautiful Home with Magnificent View of Na Pali Mountain Range
A beautiful home with a magnificent view of the Na Pali mountain range. The house is very comfortable with all amenities including a gourmet kitchen. The bedrooms and furniture is very comfortable. Princeville is a wonderful spot as you are near beaches, a nature preserve and the town of Hanalei. We look forward to returning to Kauai and hope that this home will be available. The landscaped gardens are also very beautiful.

I just had the opportunity to stay at the lovely villa "Orchid Hale," on the island of Kauai, courtesy of Kauai Vacation Rentals, and was so amazed again at the tranquility and beauty of this island and particularly this home. Orchid Hale is situated on the North Shore in the prestigious Princeville community. This home feels like your own home and not a vacation rental. It has beautiful views of the Na Pali mountains and an expansive yard filled with tropical plants. The villa boasts three bedrooms, all richly appointed and the furnishings are eclectic and tasteful. An antique canoe rests between the first and second floor and is just lovely. As a born foodie, what I love about this home the most is the gourmet lovers kitchen. The owners of this villa have not left any detail behind. Each cabinet and drawer is equipped with state-of-the-art utensils and accessories that any chef would adore. The home is inviting and comfortable for six or more adults and also has a private office en suite. I love this villa and would love to stay there again. Hanalei Bay is a ten-minute drive from the villa and has many nice restaurants and boutiques. I give Orchid Hale two thumbs up! Thank you Kauai Vacation Rentals for bringing this to my attention!

Our best family vacation ever!
Our family has travelled extensively over the years, and we have stayed at many beautiful hotels and vacation rentals. Our stay at Orchid Hale was by far the best vacation we’ve had as a family thus far. The home is absolutely beautiful. My mother and father came along with us on our vacation, and my mom and I had so much fun creating meals together in the gourmet kitchen. You can tell that the owners really want to share their home with you and make it a very special experience. They have provided so many “extras” in order for that to happen. Extra supplies and appliances in the kitchen, recipe books, beautiful and plentiful linens, pool and beach toys, lawn games, umbrellas, coolers, boogie boards, locally made lotions and toiletries in the bathrooms and the list goes on and on.
The art in the home is truly amazing. The garden is also so very inspiring. It really made me woe my Zone 2 garden in Canada! My dad and I really enjoyed visiting with the very likeable gardener on a few occasions as she gave us lessons on all the plants in the garden. Several times throughout the visit we would come home to gifts of bags of fruit that she would leave for us on the porch.
The area within Princeville is perfect. It is a short walk to a quiet, postcard-perfect beach and a short drive to all amenities. I wasn’t much of a seafood lover before our trip, but the restaurants are so outstanding and the fish so fresh, I’m now a convert! The pool and tennis court are directly across a quiet street. The area and house are safe for kids and perfect for families of all ages.
We can’t wait to go back again. In all the countries and continents we’ve visited, this is the first time we all agreed that we absolutely will be going back for a second (and hopefully third and fourth…) visit(s). Our deepest gratitude to the owners for sharing their little piece of paradise with us.
