My family and I stayed at this house for a week. Family included spouse, grandparents, siblings, and my young children. The accomodations worked beautifully for our wide ranging age group! House includes an elevator for older guests who can't climb stairs.
Cliff was the most amazing host. He took the time to walk us through all aspects of the house and greet us when we first arrived. He has an amazing compendium of notes and information to assist while you're in the house and for local attractions and plans.
The view from the house was world class. The house is situated on a smaller public beach with direct access onto the beach with world-class views. The house was as advertised with five full bedrooms each with their own bathrooms and all wonderfully set up by the host.
My family and I had an amazing time. We hope to revisit the house again sometime in the future. Thanks for everything, Cliff!

This was the best place we have ever stayed. Our family of 6 adults stayed for 6 nights. Incredible location. Walking distance for us to the middle of La Jolla. Beautiful, well designed home. Directly on the beach with unobstructed views of the ocean.
Cliff was a gracious host. He met us at the door and showed us around. He told us not to hesitate to call him if we needed anything. As is turned out, we didn't need to bother him because everything worked perfectly during our stay.
Two of the bedrooms have sweeping ocean views, with corner glass and private decks.
We were thrilled to be able to stay at Cliff's property. We will definitely be back! Full five stars.

Location cannot be beat. The ocean is quite literally within feet of the patio. We had a really lovely time with our extended family.

We come to California every year with my extended family. The grandparents are getting up there and the "little ones" are all teenagers. Cliff and his wife Mary Ann were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed every minute and are all still talking about it. I hope we are able to return next year but we shall see what the future brings.

FABULOUS family beach vacation house!
This was a wonderful beach vacation house for our family of ten (we 70s grandparents, 40 year old sons and their wives, 4 grandchildren (2-8). It surpassed all our expectations. Great being in a house directly on the beach - watching early morning strollers and surfers, mid-day volleyball players, great sunsets, and watched one wedding proposal (preset blanket by friends with flowers and pillows, then surprise on-his-knee proposal and friends coming out of hiding). Owners showed us all around, explaining everything, on our arrival. They were very helpful making sure we would enjoy our week, and responded quickly when we had a question during the week. House had all we needed (an elevator but we never needed it) - beach towels, beach toys for the kids, umbrellas, beach chairs. An outside shower to wash off our feet, coming from the beach. Nice ocean breeze, quiet neighborhood. Great front patio on the beach where we ate all our meals and just sat and watched everything happening on the beach, but not noisy at all, other than the nice ocean waves. Basement TV room for the kids to watch something before bedtime. It is a very comfortable house. We will come back in a second if we want another beach family vacation, but it would also work very well for group of friends or up to five couples.

The house was perfect for our family get-together, a beautiful property. It is located right on the ocean beach, mere feet from the waves. Everyone had a private bedroom and bath. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking utensilsâwe wanted for nothing. A great experience for all of us.

I asked Cliff if he had any heaters for the deck and he did not, but he purchased two electric heaters! It made our time on the deck so much more comfortable. This home is a gem!!

Beautiful beachfront home
We had a very enjoyable stay at Cliffâs beach house. The location is great with direct access to the beach where you can swim and boogie board. There are tide pools that are easy to walk to. You can also walk to Vonâs and many restaurants including The Taco Stand and American Pizza Manufacturing (take and bake pizza). The home is very clean and has whatever you may need for a comfortable stay.

Beautiful beachfront hope
This house was beautiful. Itâs right on the beach with incredible views and easy access to the beach which was perfect for our family of 3 little kids and 2 older grandparents. The home is 6 levels but has an elevator which was a blessing for the grandparents. There are volleyball courts in front of the house on the beach and it was fun to watch as well as all the surfers and boogie boarders from any of the 3 decks. The host is great with communication and helping in any way he can. The friendliest guy! We loved this stay and didnât want to leave

Best Beach House Ever!
We had a fantastic vacation at this most wonderful beach house! Best ocean view in all of La Jolla, absolutely breathtaking! The home was exceptionally clean with all of the amenities. Communication with the homeowner was outstanding. He personally welcomed us and gave a detailed tour of the home which was incredibly helpful. This home has our highest recommendation, we didnât want to leave and canât wait to return!! Thank you Cliff!!

Amazing and beautiful home and location!
This is the best rental we've ever had. The house is stunning and perfectly set up for renters. They have all the conveniences you would want in a high-end rental. The kitchen is fantastic and the view is unbeatable. Our family had such an incredible time and Cliff is a wonderful, caring host who takes the time to make sure everything is just right. We hope to come back again to this magical place!!

Great family beach house
Our family (10 +/- people) has stayed at numerous houses and condominiums over the years in both California and Florida. This house was the best setup we have experienced.
It starts with La Jolla, which is a top flight destination. It continues with the location, which is right on the beach. It finishes strong with Cliff's personal touches and clear communication.
This is the first place we have been to where I heard, "I wouldn't mind coming back here next year."
The house has great views, plenty of space and Cliff is ready to go the second mile.

The perfect house in a fantastic location
The house is located right on the beach at the end of a dead end street with ocean views everywhere you look. The crashing waves can be heard throughout the house. Because it is at the end of the street, there isnât a lot of traffic even though itâs in the heart of La Jolla.
The owner, Cliff, is very attentive and responsive to make sure everything is perfect. He met us at the house when we checked in and called periodically to ensure everything was perfect.
The house was very well-appointed and exceptionally clean. It was well stocked with dishes, beach chairs, balls, frisbees, etc. We grilled out two nights on the deck right over the beach at sunset. It was beautiful.
My family and I enjoyed the house immensely and would highly recommend it for families that donât mind paying for quality.
We will happily stay here again the next time we are in La Jolla.

Beautiful views right on the beach!!
My family and I had a lovely vacation at this home - easy access to the beach and to town. Furniture is pretty dated but we were outside most of the time. White leather couch really needs to be cleaned. I also donât believe tile floors were cleaned well. Bare feet turned black quickly. 2 keys to the home and 2 garage door openers wouldâve been helpful( only provided one) as we had 2 cars and 5 adults. House is laid out nice for sleeping. Elevator makes a noise every 20 minutes but cliff took care of it. A few basics wouldâve been nice like toilet paper ( there was some but I had to buy more more) , coffee, body wash- normal things you have at home. Spices were all expired and Teflon coming off the skillets. Had to buy a skillet to cook with as my daughter wouldnât cook for her children in cliffs with Teflon peels. It would really be nice to have a heater on the outside deck or a fire pit table. Got to chilly to sit outside and we so wanted to take as much advantage of that view. At the price point of this rental- shouldâve had one.
Favourite thing- lying in bed listening to the waves crash. So special.

Amazing views, great location!
This home was so great! The views were amazing, from the kitchen, the bedrooms, and even the bathroom! The elevator was so helpful for our mom who uses a walker and would not have been able to do the stairs. We had several kids with us and they loved being right on the beach! There were a bunch of beach toys and chairs stored in the garage, which was really convenient. The kitchen was great for cooking a few nights, and we loved eating outside on the patio watching the ocean! We loved the location in La Jolla! Located in a beautiful neighborhood, and walking distance to many stores, shops, and restaurants. Cliff and his wife were both so nice and easy to work with, and provided detailed instructions for everything on the property. We would love to come back to this home in the future!

wonderful vacation house directly on a fabulous beach
this house has a wonderful location right on the beach. It was well stocked with supplies, including beach chairs and beach toys. the balconies were amazing and we could bbq right on the main deck. the house could use some umbrellas and more comfortable chairs for the balconies. we were a multi generational family and there was more than ample room for all of us. we had a wonderful time.

Week went by too fast...So sad to leave!
This was the best staycation ever for me and my family. The house is amazing...the view is breathtaking, the beach is steps away and falling asleep to crashing waves, it just doesnât get much better than this. The owner Cliff iwas present when we arrived to show us his beautiful home and how everything works and is just a phone call away if needed. The only thing he required of us was to âenjoy his home.â It was a pleasure to be able to enjoy this home. The only downside was when we had to leaveđ. Thanks Cliff!

Wonderful
We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home right on the beach. Clifford was very responsive and helpful with tips on great places to eat and very concerned that we have a good stay. It was very nice to have a home stocked with a lot of extras such as spices, napkins, paper towels, etc. Plenty of towels and room for everyone. There were plenty of beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs and a beach umbrella for guest use. The whole family (1 pre-teen, 2 older teens, 1 adult child) didn't want to leave and want to stay here again if we return. La Jolla is definitely to place to stay in San Diego and the home is close enough that we walked to all restaurants and shopping and seal rock.

Great Ocean Front Luxury House with Good Owner
My family stayed here in February of 2018. The owner, Cliff, was very helpful from the time we first contacted him until we completed our stay. The information provided on the house and area was very detailed and helpful and Cliff met us at the house when we checked in to answer any questions we had. Since we needed stairway gates for a toddler Clif helped coordinate with San Diego Travel Baby prior to our arrival to make sure the gates they furnished worked.
The home has several levels with bedrooms on Three levels and the kitchen and main gathering area on another. The home has an elevator that we mainly used to move luggage when we arrived and departed. The master bedroom is on a floor with two other bedrooms and there is a great secluded bedroom similar to a studio apartment on the top floor. The lower floor has a large entertainment room and a suite-like bedroom area. Every bedroom has its own full bath. The multi level construction worked well for us and, although we didn't need it often, the elevator is a good feature if anyone has issues with stairs.
The house is on a sandy stretch of beach which is good for swimming (not for us because we are used to the 80 degree water on the Southeast coast and it was February). There were people swimming and surfing near the house most days. Each end of the sandy beach has walkable rocky areas. The views are beautiful and the deck off the kitchen area is nice (although we couldn't enjoy it to the fullest due to the cool weather).
The location is near the main areas of La Jolla and to restaurants and stores. It is a short walk to the area where the seals gather (either by the beach if you walk over rock areas on the way or on the road). You are also close to Prospect Street and other shopping areas. We enjoyed having tapas and wine at "The Olive Experience" on Prospect Street.
We enjoyed the house and meeting the owners. Hopefully we'll make it back again.

As beautiful a setting in La Jolla as I can imagine. Smack dab on a gorgeous beach.
Rare to be in a newer home right on the beach. The owner is exceptionally responsive and considerate. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting. The elevator makes the multi-level home very manageable even if you don't like stairs. The property overall is well-maintained, which I'm sure is not always easy with the corrosive elements of being so close to the water. It is walking distance to downtown La Jolla and in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood, which we enjoyed. A short drive to Mission Beach which is fabulous for longer walks. The ensuite bathrooms for every bedroom would be a plus for large groups, and they are clean and new.
We stayed for a month last year and came back for a month this year, using the time primarily as a writers' retreat. We came for the ocean, and the large windows make for beautiful views of sunsets and surf. The patios are expansive. There is no yard, which could be a plus or a minus depending on your needs, but with the ocean literally steps away it didn't bother us.
Downsides: Because we spend a lot of time in the house, the furnishings and their arrangement were not always ideal for us, but the owner was willing to work with us, which we appreciated. As with most rental properties, furnishings are dated. The kitchen and three of the bedrooms have stunning and expansive views, but there are not really conversation sitting areas in any of them. We made it work for two of us by moving a few things, and the second year Cliff bought a couple of additional chairs for the bedrooms and was willing to move some of the furniture in the kitchen to make a sitting area. The primary living area where there are couches and conversation areas has no windows or fireplace and the furniture was not very comfortable for us. All of the beds are queens, but they were reasonably comfortable beds.
All said, we have rented two other homes on La Jolla beaches and we will probably be back to this one. Great location, responsive owner, and fabulous views on a gorgeous beach.

Great house, great location
Our family of 9 enjoyed a wonderful week at the house during Christmas. The house was fully equipped, the beach terrific (a 2-minute walk). We grilled and ate meals outside on the deck (in December!), listened to the sounds of the waves, loved the sunset views, and were able to walk into town.
We had three generations together, and this was my first experience with an online rental. There were a few minor issues with the house, but the owner, Cliff, responded quickly to address them.
The reason for 4 stars: there are a lot of steps in the house, so it was challenging to keep our young walkers (15 months and 20 months) safe and away from open stairways. But, overall, we were very happy with the house and didn't want to leave.
