About this house rental
Nestled in Nantucket, this attractive house for $525 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Beautiful secluded property that borders Long Pond Preserve. Central AC and mini splits installed fall of 2021. Walk through the Moors (Long Pond Preserve) to Dionis Beach. Our family has enjoyed coming to the "Gray Lady" Nantucket Island for more than 50 years. We invite you to enjoy the beauty and history of this magnificent island in our "Special Place". Please respect the house as if it were yours and the nature that surrounds it. A short 5 minute drive to Madaket Beach (life guards) is a pleasant way to spend a beautiful summer day in Nantucket. Visit Mr. Rodger's "Crooked House" and uncover the legend of "Madaket Millie". WIFI, TV,bicycles, boogie boards, beach chairs, towels and tennis racquets, 2 private tennis courts and umbrellas available. Small house broken non shedding dogs allowed . Rental agreement required. Sleeps 6 adults plus a bunky room for 4 children. FOR those returning renters the 3rd has a queen bed only on the 3rd floor. There had been 2 singles.

Location is super. The beach path to 40th Pole is right there; the kids and I walked it while their parents could drive right onto it. The neighborhood was safe for them to ride their bikes throughout and they loved having access to the tennis courts. Having the bus stop right at the end of the road was so convenient. Mark was right to call it “Happy Place”.

Our family had a great stay at the house, which was clean and had everything we needed for a great vacation, in a lovely neighborhood. We had a wonderful vacation with Warrens Landing as our home base.

This was the perfect house for our family's Nantucket vacation. Great location, plenty of room, beautiful views! Walk/bike to the beach. Easy access to bike path, which we used a lot. Plenty of beach supplies - no need to bring any. Frequent visits by deer and rabbits too. Magical.
Thw house was very clean and well kept.
We hope to return in the future.

Another wonderful stay at Special Place. We absolutely love the quiet Madaket neighborhood, right near the bike path and just a short walk through the dunes to a beach . We loved morning coffee and dinner on the very private deck overlooking the beautiful surroundings with a view of Long Pond . The house has everything you need and Mark is a wonderful communicator, answering any questions promptly. We hope to return again soon !

Family vacation
We had a wonderful week at Special Place . Mark was a great communicator and answered all our questions very quickly. Our extended family of seven was very comfortable in the four bedrooms. Absolutely loved the location , quiet neighborhood , close to the bike path and a lovely short walk through the dunes to one of the north facing beaches . Only thing that would have been helpful is a bigger table on the deck. We ate almost every meal outside on the wonderfully private deck which was great except there is only a small table that fits about four people . And there were only a few kids sized bikes available for most of the week , several adult size bikes were dropped off towards the end of the week . But overall a wonderful place to stay with everything you need to go to the beach . Very sad to leave !! Thanks for everything Mark!

Truly Someplace Special
We all fell in love with Someplace Special. It came well equipped with everything we could need and I will sorely miss that deck! When we came into the home we could tell it was a very “special place” everyone felt comfortable.
The bedrooms were comfortable and clean. Everything we needed was there snd easily found like towels, kitchen appliances, beach stuff etc… it was great to have bikes available upon arrival. We had meals out on the porch morning and night, no bugs snd a nice private feeling. We took several walks on the path to 50th pole, so peaceful and classic ACK experience. AC worked very well and was appreciated because it was pretty hot out!

Perfect Madaket home for a family stay
We had a wonderful vacation staying at “Special Place”. There were great sleeping options for everyone in our family. There is a gorgeous view from the back deck with a hummingbird who would visit me while I had my morning coffee in peace. The house was equipped with everything we needed for the beach and my daughters enjoyed playing tennis at the neighborhood court.

Great Time in ACK
Cozy, friendly house and grounds in a wonderful little neighborhood. Convenient to Town, Madaket (Millies!) and beaches. We had 6 adults who all enjoyed it. Highly recommended!

Quiet Neighborhood walk to Beach and bike to Madaket
Was a nice cottage with lots of supplies and beds. The deck off the kitchen on the second floor was a favorite spot to spend time and we enjoyed the birds, deer and rabbits.

We loved our stay at Special Place. Mark was very helpful and responsive to questions. Best location on the island - easy access to the bike paths; can either bike or drive to best beach on the island (Madaket) with amazing sunsets! The house is old Nantucket, very charming, and clean. Has every convenience you could want so pack light! The outdoor shower was very useful, beach chairs, bikes, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay at the “Special Place”
We had a wonderful stay here! The location is right by the beach path, so it was a nice walk through the nature preserve to the ocean. The house is fully stocked with towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, bikes and more. It is only 10 minutes from town and is very peaceful. The host was easy to communicate with and very hospitable. I recommend staying here!

The house is in a great location, Near Madaket beach , easy shuttle or bike ride into town , etc. However, upon our arrival essentially the entire house smelled musty , like mildew , especially the first floor . This odor permeated the bedding , towels , etc . Even now , 3 days later my sweatshirt reeks of the same odor ...

Easy going family spot
It was a very easy going family style home that fully accommodates one’s needs...from towels, beach stuff and chairs, sheets, towels EVERYTHING you need for a fun and chill vacation. If I had to say anything ..some of the beds need a mattress cover and a fitting top blanket because the sheets kept sliding off the twin beds but no a big deal. Thank you hosts!

Wonderful Nantucket home!
We had a wonderful time at Mark’s home in Eel Point. The house is very well maintained and stocked and very cleaned. You can tell it is loved. We used the house bikes and rented a few other specialty bikes for our kids and biked all over the island during our week stay. It was wonderful! Madaket Beach is a short bike ride away, and you can walk to go feed (or see people feed) the turtles and crabs at Long Pond. 40th Pole beach is a beautiful walk through a nature preserve although we hadn’t realized that it was a drive-on beach for cars. Unless you’re also driving on, we wouldn’t recommend this particular beach for those walking. But Dionis Beach isn’t very far by car or bike, and it is delightful. Such a fun week on Nantucket!

Large place, well-stocked with coffee machine, bikes, and other amenities, well-functioning AC and other appliances. Great comprehensive renters' manual. Odd experience with one neighbor, but overall great experience. Would recommend highly.

A quiet side of Nantucket
The house was perfect for our family of five. Great space for gathering on second floor, either inside or on deck. Anything needed for beach (chairs, umbrellas, etc.) are all available. A five minute drive to Madaket Beach (eat at Millies!), a 20 minute stroll to 40th Pole Beach for amazing sunsets. Downtown is 15 minutes away and the island bus service is excellent. An excellent stay in a nice home on a beautiful island.
