About this house rental
Nestled in Palmer Lake, this attractive house for $450 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Our 6000 square foot estate home is sited on three acres in the Colorado Rocky Mountain foothills, and has 360 degree views from its many panorama windows. Raspberry Mountain, Mount Herman, and Elephant Rock are among the sights. Deer and foxes meander through the property's fields and woods. The neighborhood is very quiet, and all the neighbors have custom houses on at least 2.5 acres. The huge upstairs master suite has a gas fireplace, his and her sinks, walk in closet, and a two person jetted corner window tub. Relax in the suite’s turret sitting area with a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening, looking out several miles to the east. A second master is on the main level, perfect for family members who might not want to be on the second floor. There are two other spacious upstairs bedrooms. Downstairs, oak floors cover the living room, formal dining, family room, eating area, and kitchen. The spacious family room, open to the kitchen and bay window breakfast area, has a raised stone wood burning fireplace. The living room features a vaulted ceiling with wooden beams and great mountain views out the huge windows. The formal dining room seats eight. The gourmet kitchen has slab granite counter tops and an island with all new stainless steel appliances, including two ovens. We have a three car garage, large deck with a gas grill, and unfinished walkout basement. Restaurants, grocery stores and shops are five minutes away, and the Air Force Academy is a 10 minute drive. Pike National Forest and Monument Preserve are within walking distance; both have many hiking, biking, and horse trails. As our 70 plus all 5 star reviews demonstrate, everyone has loved it here, and there are many 'must-do' activities nearby, including visiting the U.S. Air Force Academy and Garden of the Gods (both free). A little known adventure is to take a half hour country drive to the Perry Park Country Club area, which has stunning rock formations - almost as majestic as those of Garden of the Gods. Take a picnic lunch, as there are no restaurants. Check out the photos on the country club’s web site. Also, 2000 acre Sandstone open area, on the way to Perry Park, was recently bought by Douglas county and has great hiking trails. Retreating to our comfortable house after your day's activities will be very relaxing. Come visit! Keywords: House

The property was spectacular, well kept, clean and spacious. We were excited by the surrounding area, the spectacular views and the location was close to many of the attractions and stores. The views from around the property were breathtaking and we would highly recommend this property to all.

Our family was so pleased to stay at this house. Most mornings we'd brew a pot of coffee and enjoy the views from most any window in house. There were 6 adults. Marie and David's home allowed plenty of space for our family to spread out. It also has family areas large enough to visit and play games. It was centrally located which allowed us to enjoy activities in the Denver area as well as Colorado Springs. We were especially thankful that the bedding was washed in "free and clear" detergent. We normally have to bring detergent and wash things as soon as we arrive.

We were very comfortable in this home, which is saying a lot. There were a few issues that we made the owner aware of and I'm sure they will address them going forward. Loved the common living area/great room, the deck and spacious bedrooms. Also extra living areas if you have a lot of family, which we didn't even use during our stay. Need shampoo, conditioner, a lotion? They leave a generous supply of anything you might need. Also pleased to see condiments in the fridge and we left some for the next renters. Hate to throw out food at the end of a stay and who needs to buy another ketchup at their VRBO? Owners were super easy to work with and always gracious. Would definitely stay here again.

The house was beautiful with plenty of space. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals. Everything you need is within minutes. David and Marie where extremely helpful and gave great pointers about the area. The family had a wonderful time!

We want to thank Marie and David for allowing us to stay in their beautiful home in Monument Colorado. The home and setting was comfortable and we had mule deer nestled in the shrubs. The location was perfect for the wedding we attended at Spruce Mountain Ranch.

Gorgeous very roomy property! We had plenty of space to be together and to be apart. Chef's kitchen along with views out of this world. Only 1 mile to our daughter's wedding venue - Pinecrest- and fast and easy access to COS via the interstate. Would heartily recommend this property and the hosts.

The house was as advertised. It is a large house with plenty of room and privacy. The grounds are beautiful and resides in a quiet neighborhood. The house is well stocked with notes about any questions you may have. I would recommend this house to others staying in the area. We used this as a home base for a visit to the USAA and it was only about a 10 min drive. A good amount of restaurants and shopping near the house.

We had an excellent experience with this property. We were a group of seven family members attending a wedding at Pine Crest. We had great communication with the owner - especially a couple questions that had to do with mobility issues for an elderly member of our party.
The house is spacious, well apportioned and very clean. Comfortable beds and furniture, Good cookware and kitchen/dining utensils. Outstanding views from the balcony and every room.

The house was everything we had hoped for. We were in the area to host a wedding approximately 5 miles north of the house and house several family members for the event. Preparation and celebration required excursions to Denver, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs, so the location was ideal. The house is equipped as advertised. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the O'Donnell's home for our family vacation last week. Words can't even describe how spectacular the house and the views were. First of all, the O'Donnell's were amazing and made the process so easy. Secondly, we were so amazed by the house and the beauty of the neighborhood. We were busy sightseeing every day, but were able to come home and relax at this beautiful home in the evenings. I had coffee on the deck and watched the sun come up every morning, and we had supper on the deck in the evenings. The kids and I also walked around the neighborhood in the evenings just taking in the breathtaking scenery. We have already decided we will be back and will definitely be staying here when we do. We have used VRBO many times and this is by far the best home we have had the opportunity to stay in. We made so many incredible memories and can't wait to come back!
