Located in Holualoa, this attractive house for $334 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. BEFORE BOOKING, PLEASE THOROUGHLY READ ALL ITEMS LISTED BELOW ... Three bedroom HOSTED property (Main House; 3056 sq ft / 284 sq m) sitting on a single level with a panoramic view of the ocean. We are fully Hawaii County bill HB 108 COMPLIANT; our General Excise Tax (GET) / Transient Accommodations (TA) # is: (GE/TA) 176-050-9952-01 EIGHT IMPORTANT NOTES that may help eliminate/reduce confusion when booking our Lako House property: (1) Due to new Hawaii County regulations regarding vacation rentals, as of Oct 2019, Lako House is now a HOSTED property and there is an onsite manager resident in the SEPARATE Ohana unit (on site). (2) If you have more than 16 persons, you MAY want to consider also renting another nearby home on VRBO. After you book with Lako House, we can help you identify nearby VRBO homes. (3) The Base Rate starts at 2 (two) persons + any extra persons charge (your persons count above 2 persons). Weekly bookings (min 7nights) get a 5% discount so for the maximum savings, consider staying at least one week! (4) Certain fees/charges are intended for large groups. Due to the limitations of the VRBO pricing tool, if you are a small group ( https://www.vrbo.com/13293#reviews CANCELLATION POLICY: * Depending upon booking season & cancel notice timing, cancellation charges do apply (see also policy listed on VRBO). Low Season Cancellation Policy: April, May, Sept, Oct, Nov, or Dec (except **Holiday season weeks) Guests are entitled to a full refund less HomeAway/VRBO fee and less a 5% administrative fee if they cancel 92+ days before the start date or if all booked nights can be filled with a replacement (new group) booking. For cancellations less than 14nights) For extended duration bookings that utilize any sort of VERY LARGE discounted stay rate (such as a monthly rate or heavily discounted rates > 30%), there are potentially three extra excess-use charges levied that guests must acknowledge and agree to. To avoid such extra charges, please do practice water & electricity conservation whenever possible and prior to check out, please do return the house to its original organized and clean state. For bookings that are deemed highly discounted or long term, Lako House will publish actual water & usage data weekly to the guest (by text and/or e-mail) whenever average usage exceeds 60% of allocation. a) Water Usage: Initial water allocation is 7500-gallons per month (average 250gal/day ~10-15 showers/day). If actual water usage exceeds this amount over the days stayed, there is a $2.50 charge for each subsequent 250-gallons amount of water used. b) Electricity Usage: Initial electricity allocation is 1200kWh per month (~average 40kWh/day); note that typical Lako House usage is 1000kWh/month. If actual electricity usage exceeds this amount over the total days stayed, there is a $4.00 charge for each subsequent 10kWh amount of electric used. c) Cleaning: While the standard short term stay / low persons count departure cleaning fee initially charged via vacation rental booking portals (such as VRBO/Airbnb/OwnerDirect) is $450, there will be extra cleaning charges @ $60/hour if the house is left in a particular dirty / messy state. EXAMPLE: To avoid extra cleaning charges, be sure that all kitchen items, all furniture & household items are returned to their proper places, all kitchen items are put away / kitchen areas are clean, counters cleaned, fridge cleaned, floors swept, pool and lanai items are put away, BBQ has been cleaned (if used) and all USED sheets, pillowcases and towels are put in two separate piles in the Main House inside entryway. The above discussion is to make guests aware of the very expensive utility and labor costs on all Hawaii’s islands and of course, our expectations for not leaving the house in a messy / dirty state … If there are any questions or concerns about the above, please do reach out to Lako House to discuss anytime. We loved our stay at Lako house. The location is great. Even though it is in a neighborhood, it is very private with spectacular views. The house rules were pretty common sense and aligned with how I treat my own home. Large kitchen and dining table were great for a family. A special treat, was the decorated Christmas Tree. Such a nice, unexpected touch. Communication with the owner was very nice. Caring, but not intrusive. I would not hesitate to book this home again. We had a great time. Mahalo, Bill.

Process was very easy. Bill was available for texts and responded promptly to all inquiries. Overall an excellent place to stay. A couple of very minor issues. One was the waterfall hours. It would be nice if it came on for a couple of hours in the evening. Another was there were some dirty dishes put away in the cabinets. I suspect the previous guests did not wash them before putting them away. Location was perfect. Great central location to explore the island. And views of the sunset were a 10. I would definitely stay here again.

We were visiting Kona with our entire family (15 of us, ranging in age from 2 to 67)! This home was perfect for us. It was clean, well-stocked, had plenty of parking for all four vehicles, and within close proximity to shopping and restaurants. The pool was a huge hit with the kids!

We had a great time at the Lako house. This place can sleep up to 16 people! We were only 6 and had lots of space. We spent a lot of time in the back by the pool. The view was amazing and the place was a pretty short drive to town

First and foremost Bill was a great host, he was on point no matter what, which was not much. The house was exceptionally well kept, everything that we needed was there down to a bottle of peroxide. Location was short drive from all the activities we had planned on Ali Dr and close to the local grocery stores to stores to stick the fridge. Bill was attentive and offered his services 24/7. Perfect home for a family getaway on the big island. Close to all the Kailua Kona attractions but nestled in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful view of the ocean and the stunning nightly sunsets. Don’t let the list of rules scare you!! The property has EVERYTHING you need to enjoy the Big Island! Location is great and the views are unbelievable!! We had our family of 12 and had so many hidden surprises…. Such as pool and beach supplies! Easy to plan outings. Bill is available for any questions and quick with responses! Best sunset view is from the Lako House
The experience of staying at Lako House made our Hawaii trip unforgettable! First and foremost, the ocean view and the sunset view from Lake house is unbeatable! We would wake up in the morning sipping coffee on the patio facing the ocean, and end our day by watching sunset while kids play in the pool, then dipped into the jacuzzi! The house is nicely located in a neighborhood area, close to beach, all major stoppings & restaurants. This was perfect for our group, we wanted the convenience of getting around yet avoid the tourist crowd. The Lako house is very spacious, there are many beds, sofa beds, and pull out beds around for a large group. Finally, Bill is an amazing host. He was easy going and had very clear communication style, from the time of booking all the way through our stay, he is available whenever we had questions. Thank you again Bill for making our stay so enjoyable. Definitely will return!

Perfect Location, Fantastic Views
Large rooms and several bathrooms made this home perfect for our group of 6 adults and 3 kids (14yo) (12yo) (10yo). The pool was smaller than what the pictures portrayed but was still perfect for all of us to enjoy. The views were AMAZING. Sunset view every night. I will say, the only downfall to this place was no air conditioning (which I hear is normal) and most of the beds were not very comfortable. Not an issue for kids sleeping on them but adults is a different story. The host was very east to get a hold of and gave us information on restaurants and the town goings on. (4th of July info.) The kitchen was fully stocked with anything needed.

The property has an amazing view of the ocean. The pool and jacuzzi are ideal for adults and kids that want to relax after a whole day driving throughout the island. Plenty of room for my 4 teen sons. Access to beaches, restaurants, & retail. Nice neighborhood & community! (Beautiful houses but Lako house is probably the best one of all.) Long stay during Covid-19!

6 Weeks in Paradise
Great spot for extended stay. Best attributes of the property/stay. Wonderful location that is close to great beaches, snorkeling, and the stores and restaurants of Kona. The property has a wonderful pool/hot tub with view of the ocean that is perfect for viewing the sunset and whale watching (binoculars helpful given the distance). Just staying in was a pleasure. The kitchen is very well set up such that cooking at home is very nice with large gas grill outside, and indoors slow cooker, rice cooker, numerous pans, plates etc. The owner is tremendously easy to reach and helpful.

Fabulous & spacious for a large family with young children!!
My family spent 19 days at Lako House and enjoyed every minute of our time there. We were 5 families, 10 adults and 4 children under the age of 4 years. Having the pool and the hot tub right in the back yard was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed the pool & hot tub daily, in the mornings & afternoons and the adults continued the enjoyment into the evenings while watching the gorgeous sunsets. From the Lako House you can easily access Kona city center and the Hawaiian belt highway for excursions north and south. The house and lani were spacious and provided generous seating for the entire family to eat together. We would highly recommend the Lako House for a family vacation on the Big Island. Mahalo

Perfect Local Property for Ironman World Chalpionships
Had 14 guests at the property. Plenty of room, everything was in good working order. House was in perfect condition when we arrived! We used the pool, the spa, and all of the appliances. House was clean, kitchen was well equipped including 2 blenders! BBQ was clean and well maintained. The house lacked nothing, and we were very comfortable throughout our stay. I would rent this home again absolutely! Great neighborhood! Great views! Great outdoor and indoor spaces for people to gather! From the house, you can Walk to Ali’i drive or to the Kuakini Highway to watch the race!
