Dad (or Mom) can relax in the big leather swivel recliner and watch the ball game, read a book from the little reading library or just snooze. If you don't feel like cooking, a nice restaurant/family tavern is close by and will deliver a good pizza or other menu items. There is a fire pit with a grate in case you want to grill over wood or have a campfire, lots of outdoor chairs and a large woodpile. There is no washer & dryer. Laundry can be done at one of many laundromats in & near Traverse City or Kingsley. You will have plenty of towels and bed linens provided . The cottage is a privately owned single cottage, not part of a resort. It is somewhat secluded from the neighbors on a semi- wooded point on a private drive. You will not see nor hear any road traffic. You will see friendly boaters using the channel on one side of the cottage which accesses a no- wake cove which is a great place to explore with the kayak, swim or fish. Spider Lake has a no-wake law meaning that those who enjoy sports such as higher speed boating, tubing, skiing, jet skis, activities that create a wake, do so between the hours of 11 am and 7:30 pm. Outside those hours, activities are quieter, pontoons, kayaks, paddle boats, and fishermen share these crystal clean waters, the quality of which is monitored closely by the lake association. This cottage might be just what you need to wind up or unwind. Those with limited mobility will find only 2 steps to the deck and no steps, only a short gentle decline to the dock. There are steps and hand rails off each side of the dock to also access the water. Typically, Spider Lake rentals have more steps to the lake. There are many opportunities to vacation on Spider Lake, no matter whose cottage you choose, Spider Lake offers the absolute best in lakeside activities, location and friendly hosts for your up north vacation. Important note: As one of our guests noted, we do have a flagpole. At no charge, we include a U of M flag which flies proudly over the deck. Guests are welcome to bring, rather encouraged, to bring the flag of their alma mater to fly while they vacation . After you book, I will contact you by phone to answer any questions and mail you a contract. We will meet you on arrival, give you a tour of the property, give you an orientation to the pontoon if you have decided to rent it, help you with your own boat if needed, then leave to let you enjoy your vacation. We are always available by phone . Because there has been so much press re: security cameras at Vacation Rentals, we want to assure our guests that we have no cameras. We have not had a need for cameras during the rental season. We want our guests to feel at ease, relax, and enjoy their vacation. If you have questions, please ask.

Lynn was so nice! She met us when we arrived, she showed us the ins and outs of the cottage. Perfect for the 2 of us! We fished, had campfires, shopped local and downtown, searched for lighthouses and had a wonderful time! A+ in my book!

Had a wonderful week at this comfy little house on the lake. The views from the rows of front windows and the deck are spectacular! One of best places I’ve been to drink a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise . Just beautiful! The owners were wonderful, everything we needed was there.. They have done a beautiful bathroom remodel and we also slept so well on the comfy bed. Can’t wait for my husband and I to come back next year !

Peaceful and relaxation!
The house was indeed small however for just the two of us, it was perfect! Very easy to maintain and the views were amazing. We able to see the sunrise and sunset when they cooperated. Coffee on the deck was wonderful and the tranquility of cabin was perfection. The pontoon was definitely worth renting. The owners were very accommodating and gave us lots of information regarding the area. I would definitely recommend this rental.

We had an amazing time on our long weekend away at the lake! The cottage was perfect! VERY CLEAN and the owners went above and beyond with the amenities! The location was just 15 minutes away from downtown Traverse City, but you felt like you were farther out. Very quite and peaceful. Our favorite parts were sitting on the deck every morning drinking our coffee, and then having bonfire's at night. Thank you so much, we will for sure be returning and recommending this to our friends!!!

Lynn and Lynn have created a super lovely hideaway right on the Spider Lake lakefront. Everything you could ever want is there. Extra large pier with ladders, high quality kayaks, which we really enjoyed and rowboat, sailboat and paddleboat (which we did not have time to use). Very comfortable in every way, especially a super comfortable bed. Modern kitchen and TV.. really love our stay!

Cozy Cottage on Spider Lake
Beautiful stay in October! Although a bit cold, the Fall colors were beautiful on the lake. Owner was excellent with communication and very friendly. Cottage had everything you could ask for. Front room view with all the windows was a highlight.

I guess that I am more Marriott.
Lovely view, easy access to water, appreciated fishing boat but should have rented pontoon. Cottage was very small and hot water did not last through dishes and two showers. Most difficult was use of toilet which needed more space.

lovely secluded area
Very quaint place fora getaway. The passing boaters were the most exposure to others that we experienced. Very enjoyable time .

Great vacation spot!
Owners were great to communicate with. I think the cabin has the best location on the lake and was great for a couple looking for a relaxing week. Great docking our boat only a few steps from the front door.

LIttle Peace of Heaven
We had a wonderful time at the Spider Lake Cottage. It was a very peaceful location and we were able to see the sunrise and sunset. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and was in great condition. Spider Lake was crystal clear and warm water! It was conveniently located by Traverse City. Perfect place to rest and relax!

Tranquil Getaway
I loved the peace and quiet of this lakeside home. Literally lakeside, as it sits on its own little pennisula with two sides of the house facing the water that’s just a few feet away from the large L-shaped deck. There are also two docks, one on each side. The house has a wall of east-facing windows that fills the house with sunshine as the sun rises (took photos of several sunrises from both the deck and the east-facing dock). The north side of the house faces a no-wake zone, so for as many boats as were on the lake, they’re all going slow as they go by the house. As I don’t swim and never learned how to operate a boat of any kind, I couldn’t take advantage of the rowboat, kayaks or pontoon boat available, but found myself thinking I should remedy that situation in case I can return next year. The bed was super comfortable. The living room had a comfortable couch long enough to lay on as I watched TV or read when the weather was bad, as well as a recliner that worked at the push of a button. All in all, it definitely met my goal of having a quiet, relaxing vacation where I could get away from everything and enjoy having the lake right outside my windows.

A Little Paradise
We loved our time at the Lynn's cottage that I'm tempted to give it a scathing one-star review to ensure we'll be able to book it again next year — which we're already planning to do!

We loved our stay! It was everything advertised and more. The scenic views were spectacular!
The cottage was warm and inviting with everything you could need for a week stay. It was clean and inviting. We enjoyed the boat, kayaks, fishing and the views! So peaceful. We enjoyed the different wildlife in the area; deer, rabbits, cranes, ducks, fish and chipmunks. We are looking forward to coming back!! MB Toledo,OH

Great Location
This is a very cozy cottage in a great location and right on the lake. There is water on two sides and 2 docks. It’s nice that there is a no wake zone right next to it as well. The owners have provided everything you’ll need (kayaks, paddle boat, another fishing boat with a motor), a grill as well as wood for the fire pit. The cottage is small inside but perfect for two people. The bed was very comfortable with nice sheets. The kitchen has everything you need as well as some extras in case you forgot something like cooking spray or seasonings. That was nice. There was even a bottle of wine in the fridge. I would recommend this rental because of the privacy, it is so peaceful and serene. We loved sitting on the deck every morning and just looking at the water. My husband loved being able to walk right out onto the dock (either one) and fish. Cons: The hot water runs out in the shower very quickly ( less than 10 minutes) so you’d better be quick and the second person is going to get a cold shower. Also, if you’re using your iPhone as a GPS you need to put Williamsburg as the city not Traverse City. Otherwise you will end up in Traverse City not 20 minutes away where you need to be. This happened to us and the owner seemed annoyed with us. Perhaps someone should tell you to either put Williamsburg or the zip code in the GPS. We didn’t get a real feeling of friendliness but we only saw the man the one time when we checked in and he did an extremely quick tour.

Cozy with amazing views
Our stay at this cottage was very enjoyable. The cottage is located very close to the lake while a lot of the other homes have many stairs to climb. We enjoyed sitting on the large deck and watching the lake activities including the ducks, geese and loons. We paid extra to use the pontoon boat for evening cruising. The cottage itself is small but adequate for 2-3 people and everything you would need is supplied. The owners are very friendly and genuinely want you to be comfortable and enjoy your stay.

This is such a cozy place. Everything you need is here. And it is close to so much. We had a wonderful time.

Cozy Cottage is a beautiful and peaceful place. Would definitely recommend.
My husband and I spent a weekend at The Cozy Cottage and simply loved it.
The owners are extremely friendly, very informative on everything you need to know about the cottage. The property and cottage it's self was just beautiful. We loved waking up getting with our coffee and watching the sunrise and in the evening watching it set.
Enjoyed fishing off the dock. It's very peaceful.
It's not far from Traverse City if you want to go into town.
We can't wait to go back next fall.
So if your looking for a place to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and beauty of the lake this is the place to go.
Thank you Lynn and Lynn again for opening your cottage to us.

Perfect week!
Spent last week at this lovely cottage on Spider Lake. I was lucky enough to have perfect weather for the entire week, which always helps. Lynn and Lynn met me on arrival and even took me for a pontoon ride across the lake! I spent the week sitting on this deck, cooking in the fully stocked kitchen and enjoying what Traverse city has to offer, including a fabulous farmer's market on Sat and Wed mornings. The property is flat and the water couldn't be any closer. I saw lots of wildlife from the deck, too. Everything one could possibly need is there. I locked myself out, panicked, and called them... I should have known they would have thought of that and had an easy fix for me! It's small but so nicely located and stocked that I didn't even notice. I was outside the whole time anyway and I slept well in the comfortable bed when I was inside. Don't hesitate to book!

Beautiful and peaceful
This location is really beautiful and peaceful. The cottage is really well situated on a beautiful lake. The cottage is very well organized. Everything seems like it is the perfect place in the kitchen! We have stayed here twice and we are looking forward to our next trip.
The owners were terrific to work with.

Perfect little cottage on the lake
This place is adorable. Very comfortable and clean, with everything you need. As a get-away for a city couple, this was perfect. Lynn has thought of everything you might need. We were close to TC and also drove to visit various towns on the Leelenau Peninsula. We visited wineries and went hiking. We even got to kayak on a sunny, warm afternoon in late October - bonus for nice weather. Love that it is on the water's edge with lots of windows..... we slept with a view of the lake. We'll be back!

So wonderful
Cozy cottage in a spectacular setting on Spider Lake. All the comforts of home plus kayaks, paddleboat, and beautiful deck and docks (yes two of them with different views!). Short drive to TC but feels remote and private. Lynn and Lynn were excellent hosts. We hope to be back soon!

Great little cottage!
Our family of 5 had an awesome time staying at this cute little cottage. Though not big, we fit 2 adults and 3 kids just fine. Our kids were constantly busy using the kayaks, paddle boating, swimming off the dock, and fishing. We rented the pontoon boat and we were glad we did. We were out on it almost every day (we had one day of rain). This cottage had everything we needed and was very clean. It was also great to be so close to downtown Traverse City. We were able to shop and go to the beach. We would totally recommend a stay here, and you definitely need to eat at Peegeo's at least once! Lots of family memories made!

LOVED this rental!
Thank you Lynn and Lynn for sharing your cozy cottage on Spider Lake! Our family had an absolutely awesome week! Your cottage was perfect for our needs this year!! Your cottage was filled with everything we needed!! Staying on the point was so cool and having two docks was an added bonus! The small dock towards the channel was perfect for fishing off the dock and we LOVED the double dock to swim and hang out in the sun! We loved the kayaks and aluminum boat - both of which went out on the lake multiple times per day! We caught (then released!) pike, bass, blue gill, and sunfish. We did experience many Michigan wildlife including - one loon (the whole week only one loon visited!), we were very fortunate and had an eagle flying above the tree line just to our north (awesome!!), we saw deer, and the kids had a blast hand feeding the friendly chipmunks! By day we enjoyed the lake to it's fullest (except we'd love to have been able to afford a pontoon boat for the week) however putting around on the aluminum boat was fun to see the entire lake! By night we loved sitting around the campfire, roasting s'mores and watching the skyline change colors as the sun set. We loved being so close to Traverse City too!
If you are looking for a very clean and well kept cottage on a beautiful lake.... look no more!
Thanks again for sharing your cottage with our family! We would definitely stay on Spider Lake again!! Scott, Abbi, Raegen, & Braedon
