About this cottage rental
Situated in Wilmington, this lovely cottage for $250 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. The cottage on Ausable is a serene getaway. Views of whiteface mountain and Ausable River frontage make this property exceptional. The private Jacuzzi is perfect after whiteface ski! Outdoor activities are steps away with wooded acreage on site for hiking, fishing, skiing, snowshoeing, and biking. We are located on the west branch of the Ausable River, voted the best trout fishing in the state of New York. All equipment can be arranged for you. Ski whiteface and come home to the newly renovated cottage with every amenity: fully stocked kitchen available with 5 burner gas stove, outdoor grill, and disposal with dishwasher. Full basement with washer/dryer Outdoor jacuzzi was just installed off the Master Bedroom French Doors. The deck is private where you can hear the rushing river. Crawl in to cozy fluffed beds and down pillows with wooded views. The Adirondack theme cottage was crafted with custom woodwork, natural stone, granite kitchen countertop and peninsula that comfortably seats 4. The artwork was crafted locally and the walls are filled with our own adventure travel photography. The home is a 5 minute drive to Whiteface Mountain. The country store and Supermarket is a 5 minute walk. Also within walking distance is local chocolates, coffee, a café, ice cream, and an activity park. We have edited the PET POLICY. While We own and Love our dog, accidents happen and area rugs have just been replaced and the entire wood floors have been refinished as of June 2023. If you would like to bring your family pet. The location was great for hiking and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The house was not very clean, such as cob webs hanging from the ceiling and blinds, and we found a dead stink bug in our sheets. There was also a distinct sewer odor coming from the bathroom at times. We were also told we could fish from the property which was not true, too many trees in the way of casting a rod.

I do an annual trip to this area every year with my brother and two children. Anne and Rick's home was spot on. Great communication and accurate description of the home and it's amenities. The hot tub helped the aches after some hard east coast skiing!

We loved our stay here. The location was great to have access to Keene, Lake Placid and Jay. The house was comfortable for us and our 2 dogs. Neighborhood was quiet and sweet. Found some good restaurants not too far away and new hiking trails and places to swim! Would come back again!

We arrived at the cottage. Greeted by Rich the owner. Very nice. Showed us around. Everything liked nice on the surface. After sitting in the living room. Myself and my asthmatic daughter started coughing uncontrollably. Picked up the couch cushions. Tons of dog hair (not from my dog. She is black). Hair was beige. I found a vacuum (didn’t work well). Vacuumed as much as I could. Reached out to Rich the next day. He was apologetic and offered to rectify the issue. I let him know all was good. I started noticing a lot of the same hair all through the cottage. Vacuumed as much as I could. Delt with it. The day after I took a shower for the first time. The tub was filthy. I have pics to prove it. I scrubbed it but didn’t help. Once again I reached out to Rich. His answer was “I am out of town. Tub needs to be resurfaced and looks dirtier than it is “. Really ? Never heard from him again. I would have not given him a poor review if he would have handled my concerns better. Even a cleaning refund would have helped as I was the cleaner!!! I should have been told in advance that there were renters there with a dog for 6 weeks before my stay.
Hot tub awesome. All rooms renovated except bathroom which is a deal breaker for me.

We had a great time at this cabin for an extended weekend stay. Was able to bring our dog with us and he enjoyed walking around the area and up and down the riverside. Made use of the hot tub and grilled outside one night too. Will definitely look to stay here next time we are back in the area!

Great Getaway Cottage
The cottage is located on a quiet road in the sleepy little village of Wilmington. It's just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Placid so that you can enjoy the nightlife if you choose and return to stargazing on the deck later on.

We had a great time at the Cottage, near everything we expect to do during the week end. We loved the hot tub and the land, cottage was as we saw on pictures and description of everything was good. We will be back for sure.

Perfect size for a small family
My daughters and I spent the week here and used Wilmington as a home base between Lake Placid, High Peak hikes and Burlington. Our dog loved exploring the river and we loved relaxing in the hot tub each night!

A river in the backyward?!
Such a cute cottage in a great location. The place was well set up for guests - clean and organized with clear instructions. Communications with owners was super easy and open, but not needed upon arrival because everything was so well set up. There's a river down a short trail in the backyard where our dog had the time of his life. Definitely want to come back. Hot tub was amazing as most hot tubs are. ;)

Great house!
This house is very cute, clean, well-appointed, and perfect for a small group. My son and I stayed here for a ski race at Whiteface and had plenty of space to spread out. Restaurant options in Wilmington are somewhat limited (we ended up eating at the Hungry Trout all three nights), but the Little Market was very convenient for breakfast and snacks and the proximity to the mountain was amazing in the mornings. We look forward to returning.
