About this house rental
Nestled in Cayuga Lake, this lovely house for $415 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. A gorgeous, updated, three-bedroom house directly on Cayuga Lake but only minutes from downtown Ithaca. Our house has spectacular lake views, a modern floor plan, and beautiful, high-end construction and details. Special features include a stoned faced fireplace, striking wide plank floors, and a modern kitchen with modern appliances. First-floor full bath and guest room. Upstairs you will be delighted with the master suite with more gorgeous lake views. The driveway is close to the front door compared to most other West Shore properties. Private frontage and dock. Kayaks, Canoe. Fast internet service with wifi, A/C, Washer Dryer, Roku TV, DVD player, gas fireplace, wine cooler. Reasons to rent this house: 1) The single-family house is directly on Cayuga Lake with amazing views from the deck and dock, near wineries, and also only 5 minutes from downtown Ithaca restaurants and shopping, and less than 15 min. from the colleges. 2) We use only solar electricity, powered by Solar Farms, New York. 3) In summer, you can drive close to the front door, no major staircase to the house (as is common on Cayuga Lake). However, you must be able-bodied and sure-footed. There is a path with a series of concrete steps (a total of 21). In winter, we have a new staircase from the road with 52 steps. The house is not appropriate for anyone with walking disabilities (sorry). 4) There are 2.5 bathrooms. 5) Two kayaks on the property, a canoe, private dock. 6) The house is big enough for two families to share. We have 3 bedrooms and a bonus room (with a sleeper sofa), plus a sleeper sofa with memory foam mattress in the living room. 7) Our house is equipped with a high chair, a pack-n-play, an infant bath, and myriad toys, books, and games. Who Can Rent: The house is not appropriate for loud/late-night parties. We do not allow additional guests. Also, sorry, the house is not handicapped accessible. All adult guests staying at the house must sign our license agreement and agree to our house rules. Our property is steep. There is a long staircase to the house from the upper driveway with 52 steps. The path from the lower parking is relatively flat. All tenants and guests must be able to navigate the stairs with ease. Unfortunately, it is not handicapped accessible. We do not have a grass yard. Winter: Our house is a real house that is winterized and you can set the thermostat to whatever is comfortable. We do not always plow or shovel the lower driver in winter. Winter tenants should plan to walk from the upper parking to the house.

Very nice home with gorgeous views on the lake. There were paddle boats but we did not use them since it rained on that day. Just some small improvements: 1) add an airfryer 2) provide basic shampoos/body wash in refillable containers that cannot be tamper by guests 3) provide some small towels.

This was the perfect place for our family while visiting for a wedding. Important to note that this home, as well as many homes along the road, are located a good distance down a sizable hill from the road. And then, if you wish to go down to the lake, there are quite a few more stairs. You will see many cars parked along the road and stairway entrances. So if you have mobility issues, this may not work for you. That said, the stairs are in great repair. The stairs leading from the from down to the lake are brand new.
The owner’s communication and descriptions were very prompt and detailed. The home was comfortable and had plenty of space for our family to relax in between activities. We didn’t do much cooking as time wouldn’t allow, but there are so many restaurants around Ithaca college that finding food was not a problem. A simple Google search will find you plenty of outdoor activities like great hiking trails, playgrounds, and water activities. We are not “winery people”, but if you are, you won’t be disappointed!

This house was perfect for out family vacation. The deck was fabulous with 2 levels to enjoy. We spent many mornings and evenings enjoying the lake view from it. We also enjoyed utilizing the available kayaks and swimming in the lake when we weren’t exploring the area. Would definitely try to stay here again.

The house is beautiful! It's right on the water, and it was lovely to sit out on the deck and take in the lake and the scenery. It's within driving distance of downtown Ithaca and within 30 minutes of other attractions around the Finger Lakes. Would highly recommend as a home base to explore the area!

My sister and I with kids and husbands stayed just under a week. It was perfect. We never ran out of things to do and will book again for even longer. The updates to the property are beautiful. The living area is spacious and the kitchen had all the appliances and cookware needed. This house is a magical place close to Ithaca and all things must-see Finger Lakes.

We stayed here for a family reunion in Ithaca and the house was beautiful! The large decks with amazing views of the lake were so relaxing and the dock access for early morning paddling was a huge plus. We loved our stay and enjoyed grilling and cooking for our family. The kitchen was very well stocked and the living space was large and comfy! We’d stay again!

It was a beautiful property on the lake. We were here for a wedding in Ithaca and we had six adults and a baby and we all had a wonderful time. Especially enjoyed watching it snow outside the comfort of the house. The owner was quick to respond by text to any questions.

We loved staying at this home right in on Lake Cayuga. The views were absolutely stunning, and it was a great jumping off place for exploring Ithaca and the surrounding state parks. We would love to stay again in warmer weather. Clean and comfortable, and plenty of space for our family to enjoy. Definitely recommend!

This property is exactly as described. It’s absolutely beautiful with a stunning backdrop of Lake Cayuga Lake. There’s a great open floor plan and the rooms are all large in size. It was very comfortable for our group. We did make use of the kitchen for dinner one night, I brought my own pots and pans. I don’t know how well the dishwasher works as the utensils and plates all needed a hand wash before serving dinner. (I’d wash regardless though, force of habit). The sunrise is spectacular. If you have time to visit some vineyards Bully Hills was worth the 45 minute drive. I would definitely love to return to this property for a longer stay. The host was fantastic, very efficient with communication and not intrusive. It was lovely.

Staying right on Cayuga Lake was a lovely experience. Looking out on the water was very calming and mesmerizing. Ithaca has so much natural beauty to explore, and the town is refreshingly progressive. Staying at the lake house was icing on the cake. Hope to return.

The house and the whole experience were outstanding. The owner was very responsive and accommodating. The house and property are paradise. Parking was tricky and there are a minimum of 27 steps from car to house of you park at the bottom of the driveway (or 80 from the road to the house if you park adjacent to the road) and stairs are not well lit at night so use your own flashlight. Overall - absolutely fantastic.

Beautiful home, spectacular lake view, and convenient location! There are many steps from the street level parking to the house, but this is well documented in the host’s description and prior reviews so we were not surprised. We actually enjoyed the exercise! We also enjoyed using the kayaks provided, plus the house was supplied with everything you need. I would love to stay here again!

This is a wonderful house for a family, especially with the kayaks, canoes, picnic table and extra chairs down on the dock. Close enough to town yet still feels secluded-the public parks and hiking trails are easily accessible, and Ithaca has a lot to offer!

We were two adult couples and our small dog. Plenty of room for a bigger group. The home is exactly as listed. The view from the interior and the decks is just what you would want from a lakefront home. The sunrises from the king bedroom was amazing.

Super convenient to all but still nestled in the woods. There is plenty to do if you so desire. We rented a pontoon boat just 1.5 miles away. We went in to Ithaca for lunch, dinners, breweries, bakeries, shopping, etc
Ordered groceries through Instacart for delivery from Wegmans. Seneca lake is a lovely ride for a day at the wineries. Watkins Glen is close for a great hike and Taughannock Falls is less than 15 minute drive. Or, for a more relaxing day float off the dock or kayak/canoe.

Reconnecting with old friends
This house is lovely and very clean. There were a few items missing: paper towels and wash clothes to name a couple. The stairs from the road are very nice. However, the deck and stairs leading to the lake need some TLC. I was confused about cleanup. We were asked to wash everything and clean up (a given to tidy up) but also paid a hefty cleaning fee. Overall we enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and hanging here.

Great View
We had a wonderful week exploring the Finger Lakes from this property. It was a real treat waking up to a lake view each morning and relaxing on the porch each evening as well. It is a lot of steps, but the view was worth it. We also really enjoyed the kayaks provided and the beds and bedding were very comfortable.

The house was very comfortable with beautiful views of the lake. It was a perfect fit for our seven adults, one infant, and dogs to meet halfway and celebrate Christmas. The Diamond trail is across the road and we could walk a mile south into town or six miles north to Taughannock Falls. Our family is looking forward to our next visit.
