About this cottage rental
Located in Manasota Key, this lovely cottage for $140 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Sunrise Cottage is located on the southern end of Manasota Key, just steps from the Gulf of Mexico. Less than a block away, Stump Pass State Park offers you a mile or more of undisturbed wildlife and beaches. The Sunrise Cottage provides all the comforts of home, with easy access to the beach. If you want to enjoy sunsets on the beach, fishing, shelling, hiking and swimming by day, and fun evenings at home or at one of the great local restaurants, then this cottage is for you. You can even rent a boat slip nearby for easy access to Lemon Bay or the ocean. The kitchen is stocked with all the utensils you might want at the beach including a blender, microwave oven, and more. One bedroom has a queen-size bed, the second bedroom has two twin beds, and the living room has a sleeper sofa that can accommodate two more people. Everything will be fresh and comfortable for your stay. Evenings at the beach can be spent star-gazing, or playing one of the many board games provided. Maybe you prefer karaoke at the local tiki bar, about a quarter of a mile up the beach. Or maybe your idea of a good time is watching a movie on the DVD player or VCR. Cable TV is included as well as internet access. The cottage has a great selection of books if you just want to browse our nonfiction selections or get lost in a novel. Kick back on the screened lanai, or use our charcoal grill to serve home-cooked steak! Early mornings, you can listen to the sounds of the island waking up or go for a run on the quiet two-lane road. Trees shade the lanai with lush vegetation. An eagle nests in a nearby pine tree. Butterflies are attracted by the jasmine and other fragrant flowers in the yard. Turtle nests are protected on the beach and you will often find local citizens on “turtle patrol” safeguarding these special nesting grounds. Nature is at its best at this island retreat, and we have collected sharks teeth, shells, driftwood, and polished stones on each of our visits. One of the best things about this cottage is it's location. It's a block from Stump Pass State Park. There are 265 acres of quiet walking trails and pristine beaches. Here you can find a section of beach all to yourself. Awesome wildlife abounds; you will see pelicans diving for fish, dolphins and manatee swimming along the shore, and sometimes schools of fish jumping. Sandpipers run up and down the beach as the tide recedes, and the breeze tickles your face as the waves lap at your toes. Sunrise Cottage is a recently renovated duplex, and each unit is rented separately, with the one in the back called "Sunrise" and the one in the front called "Sunset." Each has its own entrance and lanai, and the furnishings are similar. Both are located at ground level, so there are no steps to climb. This makes it ideal for those who have trouble climbing steps, or for those with young children. It's a lot easier to come and go to the beach when you don't have to climb stairs. If you have enjoyed Manasota Key before, you know it is a unique Florida beach, without high-rise hotels and fast food restaurants. It feels like the Florida of simpler times, and has only a two-lane road and no red-lights. This is the perfect place to get away from it all, to reconnect with family or friends,and to recharge your batteries. What a bargain, in a great location. Between Jan 1-April 1, high season rates apply, and guests must book from the first of the month to the end of the month (inclusive of the last day of the month). Shorter, variable length stays are allowed during the rest of the year.

We stayed here in August 2023. It is a lovely cottage in second row to the beach, almost next to stumpass state park. It had everything we needed to enjoy our two week vacation on the key. The owner is very kind and answered all the questions we had, prior or during our stay. It really is less tahn a two minute walk to the beach. And the englewood key beach is the most beautifull we found so far on the florida gulf coast. A lot of shells and shark teeth too. And since the cottage is about half a mile south of the public beach, it never was crowded. It wasn't our last stay in Florida and we would live to stay here again.

We had a comfortable stay at this rental. Quiet neighborhood and close to the beach. We did drive to several other beaches to look for shark teeth and all within 1/2 hour drive. It’s close to grocery stores, shopping, restaurants and ice cream shops! This rental is well equipped. One thing I would suggest are firmer pillows for master and a medium hard side cooler. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

The Sunrise unit was just right for myself and two daughters. Casual and comfortable! Equipped with everything we needed, private and quiet, easy parking. So close and easy to get to the beach, short walk to Stump Pass. The drum circle on Sunday evenings is a don’t miss if you are looking for a strong sense of community. The free program at Englewood Beach on the nesting sea turtles was very informative. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise Nancy B! 😎

Home was exactly as described. Very comfy and cozy. Extra amenities (dish soap, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, toilet paper and paper towels) were provided that are not normally in other VRBOs I’ve stayed in. Location was quiet and very close to the beach and restaurants and night life. Easy walk to morning yoga and to have a beverage at the White Elephant. Communication with host was bar none! She was extremely responsive and helpful with any and all questions. We will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Manasota. Perfect spot, thank you for such a wonderful stay and for sharing your cute little cottage!

Major kudos to Nancy for her patience and communication. She answered a lot of questions prior to our arrival and also after because I left jewelry. I am grateful that she went above and beyond to see that it was mailed to me. Our favorite thing was being able to be on/off the beach in a minute. The area is very conducive to walking.

My husband and I enjoyed another great week at Sunrise Cottage. The cottage is clean, cozy, and comfortable. The neighborhood is delightful for walking and biking; and everyone is so friendly! The access to the beach is quite convenient. Quiet, family-friendly beaches with LOTS of sharks’ teeth. Supplies at the Sunrise Cottage are plentiful, whether it is supplies for the beach or fully stocked kitchen essentials….it’s all there! The owner, Nancy, is very pleasant to deal with. This is our third stay there, and we have already booked another stay.

This was our first time staying at Manasota Key, but it won't be our last. The beach is breathtaking! Not to big, but it was never crowded. It is a wonderful beach for long walks to the state park. We enjoyed finding sharks teeth and many unique types of shells.
The home owners were the best! Great communicators. Nancy gave us lots of info on surrounding activities and answered all of our questions quickly.
The house is perfect. You will not need to bring anything but your clothes. There is a fully stocked kitchen, beds are comfortable and have nice bed linens. I am a stickler for a nice hot shower and this place has great water pressure. Everyone was able to shower(3) without the water getting cold.
Owners have everything for the beach ready for your stay. Towels, chairs, boogie boards and sand toys. We even grilled out one night on the provided grill.
Looking forward to staying here again soon.

We enjoyed it so much will definetly be back. location was the greatest walk across the road and your are at the beach. we flew so had no chairs or towels didnt have to worry Nancy had it all. coolers, chairs, pots pans everything you could of thought was there. so peaceful here . Amazing Beach Access
Once again, my husband and I enjoyed our stay at Sunrise Cottage. The cottage is in a very quiet section of Manasota Key. If you like a low-key, relaxing, quiet vacation, this is the place for you! Coffee each morning on the screen porch is quite pleasant. The charcoal grill for prepping grilled dinners was convenient. We rented bikes for our 10-day stay, from Bikes and Boards. They were great to deal with. We rode bikes from one end of the island to the other more than once…from Stump Pass to Manasota Beach, along Canopy Road, which is quite beautiful with unique vegetation. We also used the bikes to explore Myakka State Forest, which is very close by; and were excited to see wild boars there! We explored the trails at Cedar Point Environmental Park, which had terrific walking trails. We highly recommend a lunch or dinner at Farlow’s. The fishing at Stump Pass State Park was good. My husband caught a blue fish at the tip of the pass (1 mile from the entry of the park); and we also enjoyed watching dolphins playing around in the water there. The cottage had each and everything we needed for pleasant days at the beach….snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, comfy chairs, a great umbrella for shade, and a shelling rake. We found lots of sharks’ teeth at the beach, with amazing access just across the street….literally a 1 minute walk. The owner is great with communication and a pleasure to deal with. We look forward to returning to Sunrise Cottage!

Property Needs Attention
In my opinion, the outside was cluttered with trash cans, old lounger, yard waste, empty containers, etc. Porch cluttered. Inside floors dirty, rugs and towels stained, handles and knobs sticky, windows needed cleaning.
