MOUNTAIN MOONSHINE RETREAT
Escape to the mountains & take in spectacular views from the cabin, deck & hot tub. This peaceful retreat offers a true break from the stress of everyday life — the perfect place to reconnect with family, friends, or someone special.
Although privately situated, the cabin is only a short drive from local attractions, dining & outdoor activities whenever you’re ready to explore.

Soak in the hot tub while overlooking the mountains, river & valley below. Fire up the barbecue grill & enjoy relaxed outdoor dining on the open deck as fresh mountain air surrounds you. Watch the sunset paint the sky while you share a meal with unforgettable views.

Step inside to a warm, soothing space designed for rest & relaxation. Comfortable furnishings, modern appliances & thoughtful touches create a true home-away-from-home experience.

LINENS & TOWELS
Guests are asked to bring their own sheets & towels, which most guests are happy to do. However, if you prefer to travel lighter, we’re happy to provide fresh linens & towels for a small additional fee.
Just let us know in advance & we’ll gladly have everything prepared for your arrival.
ACCESS
Mountain Moonshine is located on a mountain & accessed by a gravel road. While the road is well-traveled & maintained, it is steeper & different from typical flat, urban roads.
AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended, especially during periods of heavy rain, snow, or ice. Vehicles with higher clearance perform best. That said, many guests have successfully reached the cabin in standard sedans by maintaining steady speed - turning off traction control can help in some vehicles as well.
If you're not familiar with mountain roads, there is no need for concern — just take your time & drive carefully. The journey up is part of the experience & the panoramic mountain views from the cabin make it truly worthwhile!
BOOKING MINIMUM
• A 3-night minimum stay is required during holidays & peak dates. There is a 2-night minimum for all other dates.
• Ask about our Midweek Special (Sunday–Thursday) for $975

Everything went great. The cabin was just like the pictures, and the kitchen was particularly well-stocked, including dish soap, trash bags, and plenty of cooking items like oil, seasonings, and dishes. We used the grill and it was very straight forward. The drive up is quite steep but we accomplished it with our 2005 Toyota Sienna AWD. Tires had a difficult time, but you definitely don't need a jeep or pick-up truck to make it up the mountain. Wifi could be a bit spotty but there was plenty of activities to enjoy that don't require wifi. Check in and check out was very easy.

LOVE this cabin. The trek up the mountain in the rain was WELL WORTH IT! The view was spectacular, and so was the cabin. The location was ideal. It was 10minute drive to Luray, and 20 minute drive to Front Royal, and very close to Shenandoah National Park. Ample room for us 2 couples. I loved the elevated seating on the back porch. Made my AM coffee view amazing. This is a very well kept property and very clean, Because it was a cool rainy weekend, we took advantage of the fire place making it a cozy weekend. I had dreams of getting snow bound up there. The wifi was a bit spotty, but better than most other places we’ve rented in the area. But we were rarely on it. All in all, will be putting this place at the top of our list the next time we visit the area.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! The views are absolutely beautiful and made for such a relaxing getaway. The house itself was very well equipped with everything we needed, which made our stay comfortable and easy.The only downside—aside from having to leave—was the presence of wood bees. They could be a bit annoying at times and occasionally seemed aggressive, but that’s part of being surrounded by nature.The road leading to the cabin is mostly well maintained, though there are a few rough spots with potholes, especially toward the end where it’s only partially paved. Taking it slow and careful makes it manageable, but I would definitely recommend arriving in an SUV rather than a standard car.One pleasant surprise was that DoorDash actually delivered to the cabin, which was a nice convenience!Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back again in the future.

Although the listing recommends 4WD, that, to me, should be featured more prominently. The view from the home is spectacular, but guests should be acutely aware that the price is a rugged, steep drive. The home is nice and roomy; the exterior could use a little boost. Overall it was a lovely getaway.
