Situated in Kalaepohaku, this lovely condo for $285 per night is a great option for your next break. Bright & beautiful, this beachfront 1 bed/bath condo in North Kihei, Maui is on serene, spectacular, Sugar Beach. Quality finishes (granite countertops, tile flooring throughout, large mirror wall) & lovely furniture make this unit extra appealing. There is central A/C. The bedroom has king bed and flat screen TV; the spacious full bathroom has granite countertops & a walk-in shower with a bench. The living area has a large flat screen TV, and its sleeper sofa allows for up to 4 guests. Prep some meals in the full kitchen for dining on the large lanai; the views are exceptional, stunning, unforgettable. In the winter you can watch whales breaching in the bay, tons of them. All year round you can enjoy seeing outriggers launch from the canoe club next door. Daily glory in the beauty of tropical sunrises and sunsets, and find peace under the starry night sky. There are coin-operated laundries located on the 3rd and 5th floors near the elevator. This unit is on the 2nd floor of building 8 on the south end of the property. The resort itself is a real gem. You will enjoy talking story (as the locals say) with fellow guests to share your Maui adventures and get tips on where to go next. Life couldn’t be more pleasant and relaxing than this! This unit’s bedroom has an en-suite full bathroom and a king bed. A second bathroom (walk-in shower) and sleeper sofa allow for 4 guests to be very comfortable. Flat screen TV with complimentary cable, WiFi and local phone; central AC and ceiling fans. Coin-operated laundries on the 3rd & 5th floors near the elevator are convenient. The resort itself is a real gem. Nestled into a quiet and safe community, the vibe here is one of low-key local that lets you know you are in an authentic place, not some theme-resort. Centrally located in North Kihei, Kihei Beach Resort is a favorite of return travelers. From here you can venture forth with low commute times (15-45 minutes) to enjoy most of the awesome adventures and attractions Maui has to offer. Two long & winding roads - one to the summit of Haleakala & the other through the rainforest heading to eastside Hana. These are longer treks to places remote, but places not to be missed if one can help it. On days you want to stay close to base, stroll the (almost empty) 3 mile stretch of white-sand shoreline north to Ma’alaea. The resort’s 1.3-acre grounds tempt you to stay and relax by the pool, sunbathe on the beach or claim a lounge chair under a palm tree and read a book. From the grounds & pool you have panoramic, nothing peek-a-boo-about-them coastline views that extend south to the Makena cinder cone, sweep out across the water past Molokini Crater. Neighbor islands Kahoolawe, Lanai and then north to Maalaea Bay with its backdrop of stark white windmills marching up the sharp ridges of the West Maui Mountains. During high season (Dec-April) humpback whales (mamas, babies, and guardian males) find shelter in Maalaea Bay; watching them breach is always thrilling. All year round you will savor spectacular sunrises & sunsets by day, and star-studded skies and silvery moonbeams dancing on the Pacific by night. It’s fun that Kihei Canoe Club is next door to the resort. Watching the canoes during practices or races is a cool diversion few resorts can offer. On Tuesdays & Thursdays the club offers visitors an opportunity to paddle out with them ($40 donation) so worth it! Across the street is a quaint collection of local treasures: a farmer’s market featuring local fruits & veggies, Ululani's Shave Ice Store, Sugar Beach Bake Shop & an ABC convenience store. You will find yourself there more often than you think, it’s one of those spots! And just down the road a bit toward Kihei, you will notice a most charming church, painted 'plantation' green with white trim & exuding the Aloha spirit. Oven/Stove did not work correctly. Intermittent problems with burners and heat. Not possible to cook a meal. TV cable had intermittent issues as well. We were advised to "jiggle the wires behind the TV to get it to work. This was totally unsatisfactory. But, we were moved to another comparable unit and all was perfect. Would we recommend Unit 208? Emphatically not. It appeared the upkeep was lacking and there was very little attention to detail before renting the unit. Unit 503 (where we were moved to) was outstanding in every way. Wish we had known all this before booking. We very likely will not be back. So the first two days were dreadful. The second 8 days in a different unit were superb.

Our group of three enjoyed our stay. After a busy day, it was great to be able to relax on the balcony -- watch the sunset and listen to the waves. Also nice to have the small pool available. We appreciated the setup inside the condo as well with the stocked kitchen and the arrangement of living room and bedroom.

Great location, spacious, easy access, beachfront with amazing views and nice in unit amenities. The bed was comfy, but there was no lock in the bedroom window that anyone could access from the outside. I let the contact person know, and after 2 nights someone came while I was out and put a small piece of wood in the windowsill. I do think this needs to be addressed further, as there were some questionable people around the area and it didn't feel safe as a single traveler. The unit did have some visible water damage and a mildewy smell, but it wasn't terrible. The laundry room upstairs needs a serious update. I would revisit if the lock situation were properly addressed.

We absolutely loved this location because it’s right on the beach. It’s across the street from our favorite bakery, The Sugar Beach Bake Shop and it’s quick access to Lahaina, Wailea and Paia. The unit is definitely dated inside with old furniture but we are almost never in there besides to sleep so it didn’t bother us. I would definitely recommend this place!

Great condo literally right on the beach. Very quiet and lowkey which we loved and right across the street from a corner store and local farmer’s market. No more than 15-30 min max away from all the big must sees on the island. Only complaint is (and maybe I read the info wrong) the laundry unit is community and on a separate floor of the unit- not inside your condo. Overall- we’d stay again!

I grew up staying in 5 star hotels (sue me, I didn't choose that life), so when I tell you this property is incredible, know that is my basis.
The property has a clean, modern aesthetic which immediately sets it apart from many of the other rentals in this area. The Unit had all the modern amenities you would expect from a well maintained apartment: dishes, cups, utensils, basic soaps, toilet papers, paper towels, etc., dishwasher, garbage disposal, so no complaints there. The fridge and dishwasher are both rather large, which made it easy to store our groceries for the week and cook from home.
The unit is no more than 50 feet from the water and when sitting on the deck or with the door open we were serenaded by the soft lapping of waves. The beach itself was a bit windy, but the winds are likely why the waves are as gentle as they are. Overall, the unit made for a relaxing, well stocked, and gorgeous home-base for our maui trip.
Management was very attentive to our calls and texts. We had a major issue our first night and the management was very responsive, we got it resolved within 4 hours despite being after 5pm.
Overall, this was a 5/5 experience, especially given the cost, and the property exceeded our expectations. However there were some minor negatives that, while noticeable, were not enough to detract from the 5/5 recommendation, especially at this price point. I'll describe below just for fair warning.
The mattress was just okay, typical spring mattress, and the pillows weren't particularly great, reminded me of those cheap cotton pillows you'd get from a big-box store. The air conditioner was much stronger in the common area than the bedroom, and we had to leave the bedroom door open half an hour before sleeping to get the bedroom to the temperature we wanted. The bathroom sink took a long time to drain, probably about 30-45 seconds after we would use it to wash our hands. These things are not enough to detract from the overall experience, but fair warning to anyone who rents here.
I cant speak to renting for groups of friends or families with children, but our experience was exceptional. Very happy and would rent again in a heartbeat.

This listing was exactly as described, very comfortable accommodations and gorgeous view of the beach. Lovely little area to sit on the beach or relax on the grass higher up, spray station and pool. My only cons to the trip were there seemed to be ants in the condo when we arrived, no recycling and some of the “house rules” seems pretty strict (a threat of a $200 fee if you used too many towels..?) especially for a 6+ day stay. Overall was great for our stay, a quick 10 min drive to everything in Kihei, less than an hour to the rest. Rental car/TURO highly recommended!

My daughter and her 6 month old visited me during my stay, it couldn't have been a cleaner, better spot for easy poolside chats, quiet baby naps and little errands across the road at ABC, Sugar Beach Bake Shop and the farmer's market. Sunrise and sunset beach walks for Grandma too--perfect!!

If traveling with more than two in your party, I would suggest contacting the management company for extra bedding. Only extra sheets were provided, but luckily our daughter brought a blanket. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was OUT in the entire building for a few days of our stay. Not anyone's fault but I would have appreciated a heads up, as it was scheduled maintenance! I work on Maui and have stayed here before. Lovely location and vibe. Just off the beach and a smaller property. Sadly, it was the epicenter for the Dec. 6 tropical storm that flooded all the bottom units. This unit was fine and actually housed many of the stranded renters from the bottom floor. What can be said about the people who stay in this complex? Amazing, kind, helpful, gracious people. I hope they can clean up the complex soon and get back to normal. I will stay here again and again!

Our experience was wonderful! This rental was perfect for a couple and everything you needed. You’re just steps away from the beach and right across the street from the best shaved ice around. The location couldn’t have been more perfect because you’re in the middle of the south side of the island, just a short drive to other great beaches and activities. Definitely recommend this place!

This was the second time staying here. It a great to stay, and relax. Beautiful scenery, when setting out on the deck. The full kitchen, was also a nice thing to have so you could do you own cooking and not have to eat everything at a restaurant.the only thing, (in which they had nothing to do with at all) is another renter had 7 kids that were loud. every think was prefect.

Everything was just as we imagined. We have stayed at the KBR in the past and this was the first time that we used the beach in front of the property. We had a party of 22 and it made it easy to spend time together. The winds picked up around Noon everyday and we would move to the pool. I don't have much to complain about, but one thing that I would suggest is providing a mop or a swifter wet jet to deal with the floors. Other than that it was great.
