Situated in Ivy Hill, this lovely cabin for $213 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Beautifully renovated authentic log cabin ready in time for fall leaf season! Large mountain home, renovated by custom home builder, stunning woodwork, cabinets and tile baths. This 4 BR 3.5 Bath home is ideal for large family gatherings. Basement level has 2 car garage and heated room for ski, bike, fishing gear storage. The main level features a 2 story foyer with exposed timber beams, glistening woodwork, an authentic bearskin rug on the wall and a large window that floods the home with morning light. The living room has exposed log walls, oversized log furniture and a woodburning stove to supplement the central heat and air system. The gourmet kitchen has new stainless appliances, custom cabinets, granite tops and tile backsplash and and open view to the dining room. This level also has a bedroom with private bath and a half bath. The upper level has one bedroom with a twin and a full bed, one bedroom with a full bed and private bath, a large hall bath with double vessel sink vanity and a giant kids bunk room with a foyer balcony, satellite TV and 2 matching twin/full bunks that sleep 6. The detached garage has a room over that houses the billiards table and 2 twin daybeds and large covered wood deck. There is an air hockey table in the basement. Located on fully paved road and drive just 1 mile from Ghost Town parking lot. Beautiful home. Great location. Home is on a steep hill. Driveway up is paved but the top landing is gravel. So cautious maneuvering is required with a large bike. We had six, and they all fit in the garage...with caution.

The Sugar Plum Cabin is a great vacation home. There is plenty of room, great amenities and the location is truly beautiful. This was our third stay and the owners have been very accommodating.

Our longtime friend group of about 12 guys had a phenomenal trout fishing weekend staying at Sugar Plum Cabin and fishing in Cherokee. It was very clean and extremely well kept. Our group utilized all the bedrooms, including the two in the pool table room disconnected from the main cabin. We took full advantage of the pool table, foosball table, and air hockey table (good times!). It was a cool weekend and the heat worked great, including the heat in the pool table room. Parking is marginally limited, but our group fit 8 large vehicles in the driveway (including two in the garage spaces below the cabin). Communication with the hosts, Kim and Henry, was straight forward and very easy. They even accommodated an early checkin request (much appreciated!). I can’t speak highly enough of the cabin, the location, the hosts, and general rental experience. This is a great cabin for a large (or small) group! It really is a beautiful cabin; photos don’t do it justice. Not to mention Maggie Valley is gorgeous.

Overall it is a big, nice, relaxing home. Plenty of room for you to sleep and several areas for hanging out with friends. If you plan on cooking, the kitchen is small with little storage. I’m not sure if we were the first renters of the season/year, but some minor cleaning and preparation could have been done by housekeeping.

It was very convenient that the cabin was located at a close distance to the ski resort since the goal of our trip was skiing. 15 people could comfortably sleep and use 3.5 bathrooms. We are planning to come back in the future.

Celebrating and attending wedding. Had plenty of space and cozy cabin decor. Quiet area and easy access to house. Hosts were very accommodating and communicated well.

There were 5 of us, my son 24 and three friends and myself all in our 50’s. All men so hopefully we left the place decent. Nice place for motorcyclist plenty of garage room plenty of sleeping room. Furniture was a little tired but not an issue at all. Front porch was fantastic. Elk every day on schedule after dinner, we counted 11 one day with 3 bulls scrapping for territory.

We had the most fun with all of our family together. The house was awesome and there was plenty to do even in down time. My husband enjoyed reading on the front porch daily and the pool table room off of the house was a big hit. We had a great time. The house was perfect for our large group. Communication with the owner was excellent. The furniture was a bit dated and some in need of repair and some of the bed linens had holes in them. Overall the house was great.

The cabin was very nicely set up upon our arrival. There was plenty of space for everyone. Our teenagers loved the game room down stairs and the detached pool table room. The yard was nicely set up for our little one to play and chase lightning bugs. I loved that the kitchen had everything we needed to make meals for our large family. I would recommend this cabin for large families that want a great place to front porch sit, relax and entertain all at the same time! We would definitely stay here again.

Beware if you plan on using the back cabin with the pool table for some of your party to sleep in, because there is no air conditioning. Therefore we could not use it to sleep, so had to make other sleeping arrangements. Be sure to count all towels and wash cloths, we were short 5 towels and wash cloths and were asked by the owner were we had left them. Then realized that the cleaning people must not have left as many as were listed. We enjoyed our time there, but was glad that we were only staying three nights.

There were thirteen in our group. Various ages. The cabin accommodated us comfortably. Warning though, the layout of rooms was not accurate. There was one bedroom on the second floor and three bedrooms on the third floor. I was expecting to have the room on the bottom floor, basement, but it was a game room. I had to share a room with two others on the third floor. Not a problem but disappointed. I thought I would be able to have my own quiet space. God said no! We all had a great trip and coming back to a beautiful home with wonderful sunrises and sunsets was a plus. We had everything we needed to cook and clean. Lots of things to occupy the little ones. Thanks so much for the use of your cabin.

We loved it and would go back. Outdoor seating was relaxing. Saw elk, rabbits, chipmunks and squirrels in the yard. Just wish for some safety gates for stairs, that was our only problem.
