Ok for 1 night, make sure you understand the traffic restrictions before arriving at the apartment

Large apartment. Close to the centre.

Arrival details not supplied until we were outside the apartment, by which time we had already gone into the Traffic restricted zone, so we are expecting a fine! Took ages to try and find the keys to the apartment, which was on the third floor (no lift).

The apartment was very clean and well equipped, and when we first arrived we had a good impression of it. One thing that should definitely be made clearer in the listing is that the apartment is on the top floor, up three flights of stairs, with no lift. We were travelling with luggage, a buggy and a young child, so this was quite difficult and inconvenient. There was also no proper duvet, and we were quite cold during the night. Unfortunately, after the first night, our experience completely changed. I can only describe the apartment as feeling haunted. We have never experienced anything like this before. Throughout every night there were extremely strange noises coming from all around the apartment. It repeatedly sounded like someone was trying to open the front door, even though nobody was there. From inside the bedroom, there were noises that genuinely sounded like someone was trapped inside or moving around the wardrobe. The balcony doors constantly made strange ticking and clicking noises, and the air conditioning would turn itself on and off. The kitchen was probably the most unsettling part. During the night, we could hear so much movement and noise coming from it that it genuinely sounded like someone was in the kitchen cooking or moving things around. We would get up to check and, of course, nobody was there. I understand that old buildings can make noises and that there may be normal explanations for some of them, but the amount and variety of noises throughout this apartment were unlike anything we had experienced before. The whole place gave us such a strong feeling that we were not alone. By the end of our stay, we were genuinely uncomfortable and scared to be inside the apartment. On our last day, we were so afraid of going back that we decided to book another place rather than spend another night there. We did not get a proper night’s sleep during our stay and came away from what should have been a relaxing holiday feeling completely exhausted.
