Awesome apartment in Plaka

We loved Dana's apartment. Right in the heart of Plaka and walking distance to great restaurants, shopping, markets and the Acropolis. Dana is a most gracious host and was very flexible with timings on out departure. Highly recommended

Very good

We stayed at the apartment twice, with a short break of 3 days in between the two stays. We reviewed the apartment after our first stay. We have not changed our view or need to give extra feedback. We enjoyed our 2 stays.

Excellent base for exploring Athens.

Excellent location in the heart of Athens, close to all major sights. Generally quiet and did not feel like a tourist area . Two balconies to sit out at different times of day. Great view of the Acropolis from one balcony.

Bed not comfortable. No kettle.

Athens Apartment -Fantastic Location

The location of this property is a fantastic base for sightseeing and access to the city and public transport links.

Only a double bed, I would have preferred twins but no big deal.

Well placed accommodation

Great location the flat was spacious and in a nice quiet area but close to the Acropolis / Plaka for all facilities. Fantastic view from the balcony.

Shower was leaking to bathroom got very wet when in use. Host said she would put this right when she responded to our contact.

Loved the location but the property could have been better prepared and required light maintenance.

lThe location was excellent. The owner was lovely and tried to help when there was a problem, eg delivered a large duvet with sheets, sorted out the hot water problem and unblocked the basin.

Kitchen was not suitably equipped - no teaspoons, no kettle, no wine glasses -, no sharp knife (except a bread knife)- and I needed to clean the kitchen/cups/cutlery before use. Only two bowls and one was chipped. There were packets of opened food left in cupboards and in freezer. There were lots of toiletries in various stages of being used/opened. One shower screen was dangling from its rollers, and the shower support was broken ( very difficult to shower while holding onto the shower handle). The initial single bed sized duvet was totally inadequate for a couple sharing a double bed in the very cold nights.

Very disappointed. Not what we expect from Booking.com

A few plus points here... great location, good views from the balconies and a good night's sleep... the bed was comfy.

Unfortunately, both the kitchen and bathroom were filthy, many of the amenities broken or not there! No toaster, or electric kettle (even though they were mentioned in the itinerary), a dirty fridge, one wine glass only and a dirty flannel and lots of clutter in the bathroom which presumably belonged to the owner. The bed mattress was dirty and the room was scruffy, with all the drawers full of belongings and a broken bedside table. When we complained via WhatsApp to the owner she said the wine glasses must have got broken and didn't offer to replace them or provide any clean mugs. Eventually she offered to waiver the booking fee, and suggested we find somewhere else to stay, but, as Booking.com take a minimum of 48 hours to refund the money, and as we were only in Athens for 4 days, we decided to grin and bear it and clean what we needed ourselves. We felt we couldn't communicate with her after this.

Dana is great, apt is great, cleaner is not

Location is amazing and Dana and her parnter are very kind

The apartment wasn't as clean as I would have hoped - scum on the bottom of the toothbrush holder, unwiped kitchen counter, a dirty dish in the drying rack. My assumption is that Dana's cleaner dropped the ball.

One night in an apartment very close to Acropolis

The location is absolutely perfect. Apartment is quite big with two balconies. Some pieces of furniture are very pretty.

The apartment is not cleaned and maintained on a regular basis so it seems to be slovenly in appearance. The covers of the chairs and sofa are mostly damaged. The kitchen does not look well at all. The glass of the shower corner is dirty, mostly everywhere was dust and also smell in the apartment is not good.

Although well priced I would not stay again - too much not right

Location was good. Not far from the Acropolis or Plaka shopping. Spacious apartment. Washing machine was a bonus and balconies were good

The apartment was not very cleaned. We had stayed there a week earlier and bought a carton of milk. Since we only used a small amount we left it in case the next tenants might use it. It was still there a week later. Pillows on the bed were terrible. The bed was not made up properly - sheets just pulled. Shower screen was not clean. Although airconditioned it was not very effective - we had it running for 3 days on previous visit and it barely cooled the apartment down. Luckily there was also a fan for the bedroom or we would not have been able to sleep. The coffee machine still had coffee grounds in it from previous tenants - not cleaned or checked. Being on the third floor without a lift makes it very difficult to take large bags up to the apartment. The only reason we went back is because I did not have time to find another apartment or room and it was only for one night.

Perhaps you could provide a kettle? The plug socket for the bedside light needs attention.

Exceptional

It was a great apartment, with everything I needed available. The host was fantastic. They sent me thorough instructions for how to get there and how to get in the day before I went, and even went above and beyond during the trip. The bed was comfy too and had a good view of the Acropolis from one of the balconies.

Cosy, well equipped private accommodation in an excellent location and value for money.

Excellent location, in the heart of the city with everything really within easy reach but still in a quiet area. A special extra is the two balconies, one overlooking the Acropolis and the other shaded during the day. The furnishings are old-fashioned and have their own charm and atmosphere. The kitchen, bathroom is adequately equipped, 4 towels were provided. There are also little things like shower gel, shampoo, dishwashing liquid in the kitchen, sponge, tea bag etc. These are simple but important little things, thank you! The host was happy to answer all my questions and give me all the help I needed (nearby shops, restaurants, etc.)

Basically nothing serious, what I'm writing now is just a tip to make it 10 points instead of 9! The kitchen lacked a microwave for me, but it has a stove. Instead of several small bins, it would be worth getting a regular size one. There's not really room to unpack clothes in the bedroom, a shelf of something would help a lot. The apartment could use a little technical maintenance, especially on the electrical front there were a few small issues (hanging socket, non-functioning light). None of the problems are serious, a professional fixed everything in an hour, but I could not give a max score because of them.

Amazing apartment, great host

Dana gave detailed instructions. The location and facilities were perfect! I would definitely recommend this apartment with its great views to anyone wanting to stay in Plaka.

The lights in the bathroom just need the bulb replaced, but this is an easy fix.

Ideal well equipped apartment in top central location with some serious comfort and style caveats

After the first sight 'shock' we learnt to appreciate the apartment: a spacious 55sqm, centrally located flat (Metro Akropoli) in a sympathic neighbourhood, you get all you need (a fully eqipped kitchen, washing machine, balcony with table and chairs, aircon reasonable WiFi...) ... at a fair price! Communication with the host worked well.

3rd floor climbing with luggage (no lift) could be a challenge. Parking availability: none (as it is in the whole quarter!) At first sight we were a bit 'shocked' by outdated 30ies(?) to 60ies worn-down looking furniture and the somewhat gloomy atmosphere...the cramped sleeping room is not really well aired despite the fan, the one-piece soft double bed mattress not really comfy...could for some people orthopedically challenging,,,

Great location, lovely balconies.

Great location in the heart of Plaka. Within walking distance of all of the big attractions. Lovely balcony with great views. Supermarket just around the corner, as well as a lovely square with tavernas (these are all around to be fair).

The apartment was great and suited our needs.

The apartment was charming. Dana was very helpful. It was quiet and peaceful. The location was terrific. It was very safe.

We are older so the lighting could have been stronger especially in the bathroom. The apartment is a walk up which was no problem for us. Beats going to the gym to use the stair master! There is a view of the Acropolis, but it is the "backside.". Again not a concern for us, but if you're expecting the Parthenon, it is the wrong angle.
