The hotel has a nice decoration, that’s why I booked the hotel. There is good WiFi and you can use beach towels for free.
This hotel has a moist problem. There is mold everywhere. The rooms downstairs (we had two different rooms) are very smelly. My clothes are full of this awful smell of mold. In addition to this here was a problem with the pool so we woke up at night with water in our room. The shower wasn’t warm and so on. We got a different room, but the same awful smell. No value for money I would say. Sorry to say I won’t book this hotel again.

Precioso hotel, con habitación amplia y cómoda. Muy bien ubicado, en una zona residencial tranquila a 5-10 minutos andando del centro y de la playa principal. El personal del hotel es encantador, nos han hecho sentir como en casa. Aunque no sirven desayuno, por las mañanas sirven café.
La presión de la ducha es muy débil, y el agua caliente dura pocos minutos. Aunque no es culpa del hotel, en los alrededores hay grandes charcos que dificultan el acceso.

The hotel looked nice, but we didn’t get to stay there because they overbooked.
No idea how the hotel is because they told us that they had overbooked and we were being “upgraded” to a better space, an apartment. With a fully equipped kitchen.
This apartment however did not have a pool (like the hotel) and was not very clean, the furniture seemed cheap and the bed was uncomfortable. There were almost no windows, so it was dark at daytime but the windows that were there were so thin and didn’t have curtains, at night it was loud and bright.
The kitchen was not equipped at all, only one pan, not even a pot. Not even a knife.
Horrible experience that ruined our stay.
I invite the owner to stay at her own apartment to experience “the upgrade”.

Die Unterkunft hat alles was man braucht. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön und neu. Die Lage ist super, es hat überall Restaurants und Läden und in 5 Minuten ist man am Strand (zu Fuss).

Mooi interieur, ziet er uit zoals op de foto’s.
Kamer was net en het bed was goed.
Kamer was zeer warm en vochtig, maar dit was te verhelpen met de aanwezige airconditioning. De douche was niet voor mensen die graag lang onder de douche staan gezien het water ijskoud wordt na 1 minuut. Het meest vervelende was dat de muren flinterdun waren waardoor de gesprekken van de buren integraal kunnen gevolgd waren. Elke beweging op straat konden wij horen gezien we in de kamer helemaal vooraan zaten. Oordoppen werden niet voorzien. Water wordt niet beschikbaar gesteld op de kamer, maar moet gehaald worden aan een bidon in de lobby. ‘s Morgens is er enkel koffie en thee beschikbaar, geen mogelijkheid om iets te eten in het hotel zelf. De locatie van het hotel is nogal afgelegen buiten het dorp, en moeilijk te bereiken gezien het net veel geregend had en er overal diepe plassen lagen op de wegen. Dit is natuurlijk niet de schuld van het hotel. Al bij al teleurstellend en niet voor mensen die graag een ontspannen reis willen.

Schön gestaltetes Hotel im Boho Style, schöner Pool im Innenraum
Es ist sehr laut, die Hunde in der Umgebung bellen rund um die Uhr. Das Hotel ist sehr hellhörig, man denkt ständig die Fenster sind offen weil man alles aus der Umgebung extrem laut hört (Fahrzeuge, Hunde, Getrampel und Kindergeschrei), zusätzlich sind die Abrechnungmethoden mehr als zweifelhaft. Zusätzlich zu den Hotelkosten wird der selbe Betrag vorgemerkt, sodass die Summe doppelt gebucht wird. Angeblich wird das nach dem Checkout wieder gutgeschrieben, ich bin gespannt

Prijs/kwaliteitverhouding voor (het dure) Holbox perfect bij dit hotel. Zeer vriendelijk personeel en stijlvol hotel. Kamers zijn ruim en goed opgezet. Tip voor Holbox; neem waterschoentjes of laarzen mee want het is een grote blubber
Zwembad is ijskoud. Douche wordt na ongeveer een minuut ook kouder/lauw. Yogales werd elke keer geannuleerd ivm te weinig animo. Toch jammer als je om ook deze reden een hotel boekt.

Room was well designed with pretty furniture
Property is a couple of streets away from the main road which in Holbox could mean quite a lot in terms of accessibility.
Puddles around the hotel were so big and deep that it wasn t accessible with luggages and we weren’t even warned about it.
The very minimum is to be made aware about it as a client, or even offering to book taxi as some of them wouldn’t even bring us there given the depth of the puddles. Clearly looked like a permanent situation as puddles did not move an inch in our four days of stay there.
General weather conditions of the island are as expect constant humidity, but with the only window facing the entrance lobby, the only possibility to “dry” anything is to use the AC.
Last , rooms are not soundproof at all, could hear anything happening in and outside the hotel

Erg mooie stijl van het hotel. Fijn koud zwembad, dus waar je echt in kan afkoelen. Fijne bedden.
Toch nog een stukje lopen tot het strand en dat was in de periode dat wij er zaten niet fijn (straten stonden blank, fietsen ging niet).

A lot, we enjoyed the hotel very much, and even extended our stay. Good location (we could walk or ride anywhere without any problem), very good attitude and service, and very nice room. I loved that for some reason, even though we always turned off the AC when leaving, every time we returned from the harsh sun outside and back to our room, it felt cool and fresh. I also noticed a lot they did to improve the facilities, based on the negative comments I read previous to my stay (my room was right next to the pool, and it didn't feel humid at all, thanks to the dehumidifier; and it smelled nice, thanks to the continous aroma spray; nice LED stripe to fully illuminate the room if needed; shower had very nice pressure, although sometimes water wouldn't heat so much; pool was clean and fresh, and it had a bench to leave your stuff while in the water, etc.)
WiFi did not reach our bedroom, and since the island has no phone reception, we were basically uncommunicated once in our room and without internet access. Also, some sort of storage space for the bathroom would be nice (my wife has a lot of stuff and had to pile everything up besides the sink). Finally, towels were just a bit harsh to the touch.

Very cool place in Holbox! The room was very spacious and comfortable. The pool was nice for a refreshment during the hottest hours. Very well decorated hotel! Staff was very friendly and communicative. Location was great, short walk from main area of town. Would definitely recommend and come back!

It is a 10 minutes walk away from the center, but for us this was a good thing, we appreciate the calm atmosphere.

I liked that it was just a little outside of the main strip with all of the restaurants, bars and shops so it wasn't as loud for us to try and sleep.
Our room window opened into the main lobby (when we showered we had to close the window or else everyone could see directly into the shower)
There was only one small window for outside (the room was dark)
The staff wasn't able to change the language to English on Netflix so we couldn't watch tv.

Looks pretty.
The rooms are basic but kept very clean by the wonderful cleaning staff.

The pool isn’t a pool, it’s a water feature. We weren’t expecting to be able to swim laps but did think it would’ve been made more useable. It’s not kept clean, there are no places to sit by it or shower off and the only people we saw go in were told off.
Little outside space or communal areas, as mentioned above you can’t sit by the “pool” and the only other options are a bench under the staircase, chairs outside of other peoples rooms, or the roof. The roof has so much potential but apart from being used for yoga there isn’t any seating or sunbeds up there, so unless you lie on the floor… it’s just not the most comfortable. This also wouldn’t be such a big issue if you had your own balcony or even two chairs in the room.
No wifi in our room. We were number 12 by the back of hotel. When we asked at reception we were told wifi was just in the common areas. 1. There are no real common areas as mentioned above and 2. It just isn’t true, the wifi reached the first half of the hotel wonderfully. It meant we spent any time researching trips or restaurants etc. lurking around in the hallway.
Aircon was weak and we were asked to turn it off when not in the room. Whilst we understand the environmental impact of this and happily complied. Unfortunately after you got back after a long day to a hot room you then have to wait atleast 1/2 hours for it to cool down enough for it to be comfortable.
Very minimal hot water, whilst cold showers are great after a day in the sun it would’ve been nice to have the option for a warmer shower.
Other little minor points. Asked to change money to smaller denominations and were told this wasn’t possible. Really rude older reception woman who never acknowledged anyone or offered help. The safe was turned off and only worked with a physical key that was temperamental. Only source of outside light is a tiny window, which may be obvious in the photos but something I hadn’t clocked.

The hotel is set quite far back from the beach and town so not really convenient for either. The hotel also doesn’t have any communal space to chill/outdoor space. Our room smelt of damp although we were moved to another when asked. Not much hot water

hotel was in a good location. easy to access everything we needed but in a quiet area of the main street which was great.
the swimming pool looks good but is unusable as there is no where to sit or relax near it and the area is dark. also has a great roof but it’s totally unusable as has no chairs or seating. also shower was terrible.

We loved absolutely everything about Alcobas del Mar! The room was very comfortable and well designed, the pool in the common area a brilliant feature also.

The people that work there are very friendly and always willing to make recommendations for things to do. On check-in I got a list with great restaurants which I tried a lot of and they were all amazing.
The free (cold and hot) water all day is great and there is free coffee in the morning. The rooms look nice and are cleaned on time.
The lights of the airco are so bright that its never really dark in the room if you have it on. Location is about a 10 minute walk from the beach.

The accommodation looks beautiful. It is only 15-20 minutes walk to the main street. Around the corner one good restaurant. Other restaurants can be found in the main street.
We are a family of five and stayed three nights in two rooms next to the swimming pool which is located higher than our rooms. On Christmas Eve the swimming flooded and the water came into our rooms with high speed up to our ankles. An enormous waterfall which did not stop for a very long time, the water kept coming and fooding our rooms! It took us almost two hours to remove all the water from our rooms. First Alcobas said it was a technical mistake with a pump switch from a member of the staff from Alcobas, later they said it was "just an accident". Anyway we have a miserable and stressful time. The owner offered us a free breakfast and later added a smal bottle of some alcohol drink but even according to the receptionist "this was nothing, especially on X-mas Eve and compared to all the hard cleaning an drying work from our side. She recommended herself not to settle for only a breakfast and a bottle. Then communication with the owner was slow and later impossible and we left empy-handed, feeling very disappointed about the service towards customers as this is not some cheap hostel. The owner said later we slept that night in a dry room so they feel no need for compensation as he had fulfilled this obligation for dry beds but this was because we had to work very hard for almost two hours ourselves. Okay, we were given extra towels and a broom by the staff to remove the enormous quantity of water and to dry.

Great place with very friendly staff - received some nice recommendations on places to eat and visit. Good installations and working A/C! Very clean especially for a beach town.
My girlfriend also enjoyed the morning yoga class
Saw some negative comments about the location - I saw it rather as a positive point as you are away from all the noise in the town center and really, what's a 5min walk going to do to you?
Wifi was tough to use in the room - needed to go to lobby area to have a good connection.
