I stayed at The RICHMOND HOTEL TOKYO for about 5 days with my friends and family. The property has a great location. Very peaceful and lot of restaurants and convenience stores all around. I prefer such hotels as you are away from the tourist traffic. Its well connected by metro stations. All metro station are 5 min away. Great staff and clean rooms with good views. I will definitely stay there on my next visit to tokyo

The location was central but not touristy or too busy. I liked that they had coffee, drinks, and ice cream after the 2 pm lunch rush ended. There were plenty of dining places near the hotel, as well as a supermarket. The subway station was also only two blocks away. There is a temple a block from the hotel, and at the temple entrance, there was a nice young man selling egg waffles. He was very friendly, and we loved his egg waffles. We got egg waffles from him almost every day during our 10-day stay.
The rooms were small, and there was only a double and a single bed in the room. That was the biggest room and bed combination they had at the hotel. There were four of us. We pushed the single and double bed together, which was enough room for my wife and me and our two daughters (11 and 13). If they were older, the number of beds would not be sufficient. This may be the common layout in Japan, as the hotel I stayed at in Osaka had the same layout. I may be wrong to compare these hotels to North American hotels. At least this hotel (and also the one in Osaka) allowed us to book all four of us in one room, rather than having to book two rooms, as some other hotels did.
