About this condo rental

Located in Holualoa, this lovely condo for $291 per night is a great option for your next trip. vrKCV - Hale Pohaku 1, Professionally Managed by Kona Coast Vacations Welcome to paradise and to our 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1161 sq. ft. condo located at Hale Pohaku. The large 25' lanai puts you incredibly close to the water. You'll love the oceanfront dining and relaxing, where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner while watching the dolphins, sea turtles and fish dance in the waves plus see the whales during season. The lanai is fully covered, with a Hunter ceiling fan for your comfort, and is your own private place to see the incredible Kona sunsets. The sliding glass doors and screens in the living room slide back entirely into pockets, opening up the living room and kitchen to the lanai and oceanfront experience. The lanai overhangs the pool and you have an unobstructed view of the reef, bay, beautiful sunsets and sandy beach. Hale Pohaku was designed by award winning Hawaii architect Vladimir Ossipoff, called the “master of modern Hawaiian architecture”. It shares no common walls with other units, allowing flow through ventilation from the floor-to-ceiling louvers in every room. His unique design incorporates Kamaaina (local) style. The cool ocean breezes bring in the fresh air and are complimented by Hunter ceiling fans in each room, even the kitchen and master bathroom. The complex feels very private with only 6 units sharing the oceanfront pool and covered parking. The pool is light salt, eliminating the need for chlorine and feels much better on your suntanned skin. Inside our condo, you'll find granite countertops, Koa cabinets and fresh, contemporary bathrooms. The furniture and cal-king size beds in both the master bedroom and second bedroom are custom crafted by a local artist and features the Honu (turtle) carved in the wood. The unit is fully stocked with linens and towels, and the kitchen has top end appliances and everything you need to prepare meals featuring local produce from the nearby farmers markets. In the living room, you'll find a 49” full HD TV, and audio system. Location, location, location! The location is unique with a small white sand beach just steps away and your own private seawall gate to get there. Beyond the beach, there is a nice size wading area surrounded by lava and a coral reef. You could spend hours here in the water exploring or on the sand sun bathing. If you have children, they will love it when the turtles come over to the shore to visit. They are very curious and amazing to watch up close. And you'll find other great beaches and surf spots close by. Finally, the oceanfront pool has plenty of patio furniture, shaded section and a grassy area for sunbathing, plus its own bathroom and shower. These are a few of the many reasons Hawaiian royalty picked Kona as their home! We are close enough to town to walk (about a mile and a half), with lots of scenery to see along the way. You can head to town in the morning to have breakfast and then walk it off on the way back to the condo, followed by a swim to cool off. You can also hop on the Kona-Keauhou trolley as a stop is only a block away. The open air Alii Gardens Marketplace is about ¼ mile away, with local crafts, coffee and foods. During the Kona Ironman in October, Hale Pohaku puts you right in the action as the triathletes train on Ali'i Drive. During the race, the athletes run south on Ali'i Drive, passing right by Hale Pohaku on their way to Keauhou. There they turn and head north again on Ali'i, passing Hale Pohaku a second time as they compete in the final leg of the Triathlon. Just set up your beach chair and cheer them on for the final leg of the Kona Ironman. We hope that you enjoy our new oceanfront paradise as much as we do! Minimum night varies seasonally between 4 - 10 nights. This is a no pets, no smoking property. TA: 129-406-5664-01. STVR: 19-354043

Beautiful condo in a small building. Very well appointed in furnishings and kitchen needs, management company is excellent. The only down side is that the location is VERY noisy. The condo is literally on the Ocean and the waves are LOUD, but you get used to that and it lulls you to sleep. HOWEVER, the bedroom is on the rear of the building and is on Ali’i Drive and the traffic noise was horrible. Many very loud revving engines and extremely loud music from cars going by. We had to purchase ear plugs in order to sleep. This traffic noise occurred about 4 nights out of the seven we were there.

This is an awesome two bedroom condo. We spent hours on the spacious lanai looking at the waves and sunsets. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are comfortable. The location is great - close to beaches and town. Wonderful.

We loved everything about this beautiful place. The lanai was our favorite place to sit and take it all in. We watched whales, spouting, spinner, dolphins, surfers, the sound of the powerful waves, and amazing sunsets. The ocean breeze kept the house. Very cool uncomfortable. The house was well equipped with everything you would need. 🌺🌴🐠🌅🌊

It took a night or two to get used to the crashing of waves, but that’s the price of a beach front property. Spent a lot of time on the lanai basking in the view!

Great location. Spacious and comfortable. Good sized lanai to sit and relax or eat while enjoying the view. Can enjoy the sound of the ocean from everywhere in the house. No A/C. Adequately cooled by fans and windows while we were there in early November, but I think has potential to get warm at times.

Where do I even begin with the view and location? This was beyond what we had hoped for. We loved and savored every moment. Plan to come back!

The moment we stepped into the Hale Pohaku, we were amazed! Our first impression of the condo was that it was even more beautiful in person, and we immediately felt at home. The condo and the property as a whole are well maintained. Hale Pohaku is spacious, comfortable, and offers all the amenities, and more. As we made our meals and dined on the lanai at sunset, we enjoyed the sounds of the ocean and the most amazing sunsets. Hale Pohaku is a place we have fond memories of, and we are looking forward to returning for our next holiday. In closing, I would like to THANK the team at Kona Coast Vacations for the excellent communication and partnership, both during our holiday planning and throughout our stay. Warmest aloha!

A wonderful balcony overlooking breaking waves and a small pool below our balcony. The bedroom closest to Alii Dr. was very noisy particularly because of the early morning traffic.
