Nestled in La Jolla, this charming house for $350 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. The newly renovated and upgraded Sunset Cottage is a charming single story vacation home located in a quiet and exclusive residential hillside neighborhood in the Village of La Jolla (Country Club Golf Course). From the deck, living room, kitchen, and master bedroom visitors can enjoy a breathtaking 180 degre ocean view that creates unforgettable moments and pure relaxation. Within walking distance is the La Jolla Cove, a protected Natural Reserve, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. An additional half mile more guests can enjoy the La Jolla Shores offering additional activities, such as kayaking, surfing, paddle board and more. The master bedroom has a private bath and is equipped with a Cal-king size bed. The 2nd bedroom offers a queen-size bed and an electric fireplace. There is also a single rollaway bed and Queen size air mattress available. Upon request we can provide a crib and high chair. The fully equipped kitchen has granite countertops, new appliances, washer/dryer and air conditioning. When sitting at the dining table, visitors can enjoy the ocean view and breathtaking sunsets. Our 'Sunset Cottage' has been completely remodeled. The comfortable living room offers a 50” plasma TV with cable TV. Both bathrooms are recently remodeled. Washer and dryer and WiFi are available. We have added A/C! There are NO steps whatsoever and the doors and hallway are wide. We are perfect to accommodate elderly and handicap guest. This property is located near the best walking trails. It's clean, comfortable and has all the amenities one would need. Owners are kind and considerate. We loved staying here and highly recommend it!

We had not realized the aerial photos of La Jolla in the listing were shot from the property porch--the view is the standout attribute! The space itself was very clean. We needed to wash half of the grimy plates & bowls. Pans and cookware had burnt-on residue. We often experienced loud rattling pipes when running water. Overall, cool midcentury property, we would stay here again.

We were in town to visit our friends daughter who is a resident of La Jolla. The location was perfect for walking to all of the best sites and restaurants. Everything worked perfectly and the house was sufficiently supplied. The only negative was a loud noise coming from possibly the water tank when the water is run. Easily something that we could overlook. Our favorite feature was the balcony with beautiful views of the city and the Pacific. We golfed and hiked at Torrey Pines which was also in close proximity to the house. All in all a wonderful stay.

Very clean which is important to us! Had all needed basic necessities! Perfect location to explore the San Diego/la Jolla area. Very relaxing atmosphere to return to each evening to chill and watch the beautiful sunset and rest before beginning our next day’s explorations! So nice to have a washer/dryer, beach towels and cooler to borrow!! Thank you!!

A wonderful time to wake up and drink your coffee on the deck watching all of LaJolla wake up! The house was great and was walking distance to just about anything you need / want! This is our spot when we return!

Property was exactly as described. We had everything we needed and more. Property was very clean and well maintained. Homeowner was extremely responsive and helpful. I was traveling with my elderly mother. House was very easy for her to manage with zero stairs. I enjoyed short walks down into town and up further into hills. We enjoyed the view and spacious living room. We would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed our short stay near the town of La Jolla. Beautiful views from living room and master BR. Property is fairly dated but everything worked. Beds were somewhat uncomfortable and nicer wine glasses would be an improvement for those enjoying the beautiful sunsets.

We were two couples wanting to take advantage of area golf, paragliding, hiking, and good food. Found them all and this property was perfectly located to take advantage of La Jolla and San Diego. Views out the window were spectacular and owner was great.

We would stay at this VRBO again the next time we come to La Jolla. It’s *very* clean, the view is spectacular, the beds comfortable, the owners are responsive, the neighborhood is safe and reasonably quiet, and the check-out process is simple. For our two-night stay, the home was a great fit. The reason we are not giving it a “5” rating overall is due to several minor issues we experienced during our stay. First, the T.V. only plays network channels; there is no cable, satellite, or streaming option unless you use your own account. This is the first VRBO we’ve stayed in that didn’t have at least one option other than network T.V. for guests to enjoy. Second, all of the towels were worn and had bleach marks on them and the washcloths were thin and small. Considering how lovely the master bathroom is, we were surprised the towels and washcloths were not of better quality. Third, the door to the master bedroom squeaks so loudly that it woke our daughter sleeping in the second bedroom. It doesn’t matter how fast or slow the door is closed; the squeaking is the same. Fourth, for our jaunt to the beach, we brought the house-provided boogie boards and a lawn chair. The boogie boards were fine; the lawn chair was broken and appeared to have been broken for quite some time. Finally, the front door locking mechanism was wonky when we arrived and failed when we were checking out so we could not lock the door. We informed the owner of the problem and he said they’d be over to fix it so we could be on our way. However, if the door had failed during our stay, it would have put a monkey wrench in our plans. Although all of these issues are minor, collectively they dropped our rating for the house from a 5 to a 4.
