About this house rental
Nestled in Barren River Lake, this lovely house for $327 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Sister property right next door! If your group is larger than 14, please contact me to discuss renting the second house to accommodate another 10 guests! New towels and linens throughout the main house! Covered back deck! There is plenty of room to eat, hang out, and relax in the shade and out of the rain when it comes! We have a great outdoor space with a fire pit and plenty of green space too enjoy. Our house is situated near the end of a private drive shared by 3 families. We like to call it "The Lake House". This 5 bedroom house (one of the bedrooms is a loft) will comfortably sleep up to 14 people although the rates are based on 12 occupants. Additional guests may stay at a rate of $25/guest per night. This is a no-pet (including companion animals and emotional support animals), non-smoking property. You will enjoy an amazing family room with comfy couches, a stone gas fireplace (used seasonally), a 65" smart TV, and a high ceiling with large windows looking out over the lake. There is a well equipped kitchen and dining area with a table that will seat 10. From the kitchen you can walk out onto the upper deck and relax or operate the available gas grill. The master bedroom is on the main floor and has a king bed and a door that leads out onto the back deck. There is also a full bath on this main level. Upstairs is the loft with a queen size bed, a small bedroom with a twin size trundle bed, and another full bath. The lowest level in the home has two bedrooms, each with a twin over full bunk bed. There is a bathroom on this level with a shower. The laundry is located just off of one of the bedrooms. There is a family room on this level that has a game table, a sleeper sofa, a gas fireplace (used seasonally), and a 55" TV with BlueRay, and DVD. There is WIFI available throughout the house and on the deck. There is a large upper deck overlooking the lake with plenty of space for everyone! There is a lower deck with a porch swing, a couple tables/chairs, and a ping pong table. This is perfect for enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. The family room and one of the bedrooms open onto this lower deck. The house is just a short walk from the lake down a set of easy stairs. There is dock access and the swimming and fishing is great from the dock too! We have plenty of parking to accommodate your entire group and any boat trailers you may have. We've accommodated 8 trucks with trailers and still had room for more! While staying at our house, you are just minutes from Bailey's Point Recreation area and public boat ramp, minutes from Barren River Lake State Park, and about 45 minutes from Bowling Green, KY. It would be easy to visit the National Corvette Museum, or Mammoth Caves. This is a great place for families to enjoy some quiet, relaxing, fun times together. You will be staying in a fairly private area and although there are houses close by, this is a quiet neighborhood. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place! This lake is managed by the Army Corp. of Engineers. The water level is regulated to be at summer levels from May through the middle of October. From the middle of October until the first part of May, the lake is at its winter level and all private docks on the lake are unusable. During this time, the lake cannot be seen from the house. The lakebed is still a fun place to walk and there is a small creek that flows year round. During the summer, the lake level stays fairly constant unless there are heavy rains or extreme drought. Because of this, we cannot guarantee what the water level will be. Please ask questions if you have any.

Very nice house that had enough places to sleep for 14. They have a dock to put your boat and lake toys.They had 2 kayaks that the kids enjoyed. We recommend renting this place especially if you want direct access to river.

This property has everything you need in every room. You bring the food, boat, and people this property is walk in ready. Plenty of parking for the whole family and friends. The kitchen has everything you need for meal preparing and serving. Then as you continue to the back porch of tranquility you see the lake. Down a few stairs to the dock you are then entering the most peaceful cove on Barren River Lake. This is a great place to stay and not to mention the family that owns this home may be the nicest people you will meet.

The dock and the lake was awesome, really enjoyed our family time here. The beds were not very comfortable, but thats just a preference each to there own. The house and property was very clean. Thank you for sharing your home with our family.

Our group of adult friends rented this house and the sister property next door. There was plenty of parking on the grassy lot across the road, making logistics of loading/unloading cars so easy. There a a few bedrooms with bunk beds so a few of our "couples" needed to split up but it didn't affect our fun. Just be aware of that. The covered deck is absolutely terrific with views of the trees, sounds of nature, and protection from the elements. We lived on that deck! But best of all is definitely the direct access you have to the dock, which has multiple slips. The water off the dock is about 4-feet deep and there are many steps from the house down to the water, but it made such a huge difference being able to store our watercraft there overnight. The only issues were very minor - a few doors could be shimmed so they close better, some of the kitchen cabinets need new hinges, and the pullout sofa is like sleeping directly on top of springs. But I'm serious when I say these are easy to overlook when everything else is so great. Tom is a high-quality property owner and very responsive.

The bunks worked good for children and everyone had a wonderful time even getting in on some snow which added to the beauty of it all! It’s a lovely home. Quiet. I deeply appreciated the homemade zucchini bread. Delicious. Sure wished for ESPN. We couldn’t watch the UK football game. Also a pack of starter coffee would have been so nice. We had just a lovely time of quiet and visiting family. Thank you.

This was a perfect lakehouse experience for our family! The home was spacious, well-stocked, and perfectly clean. Towels and linens were clean and abundant. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the dishes we needed to cook a nice breakfast--bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc. And the grill on the deck was great for hamburgers, etc. The dock access is perfect, with about as few steps as you can find on Barren River Lake. It's in a good location too, only about 10 min by boat to the marina. Everything in the home was in perfect working order, plenty of hot water for more than one person to take a shower at one time. We didn't lack for anything at this lovely home. The hosts were super nice, friendly, and accommodating as well. Their kindness was icing on the cake! Before our stay was over we were all saying how we definitely had to come back. :-)

We essentially had three families and the three floors accommodated us perfectly. We loved being a short walk from the boat slip. Everything is as described in posting. Very clean, well equipped and responsive host.

Had a fantastic weekend spending time with family at this gem. Stocked with everything you could possibly need. Spent all day down on the dock and swimming in the cove. We took our boat but didn't take it out much because we loved hanging out in the cove. So relaxing! You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lost Cove. The house was very clean and stocked with the essentials needed for a stay. The views to the lake are incredible. The welcome book in the house was extremely helpful and left no questions unanswered as far as wants or needs in the house and surrounding area. The home was great enjoyed the 2 living spaces. Boat dock was great and gave us access to our boats, the climb up and down was a work out but everyone had a blast!!

Perfect lake house!
This was a great house for a family reunion! We had 5 teens and 6 adults with plenty of space for everyone. The deck was a perfect gathering space for everyone and the fans and shade helped it stay comfortable even in the July heat. The walk to the dock was accessible to my father-in-law who uses a walking pole for support. We enjoyed the use of the boat slip for our jet ski and a rental boat. Tom is an excellent host and answered all of our questions quickly. We would definitely stay again!
