I enjoyed my two week stay here. Travis was exceptional in responding to my requests. There were 47 steps which was unexpected but after hauling my stuff up- all went well. I enjoyed the pub below whose sound did not penetrate the unit. The location was great for my needs; good access to freeway; parking in the garage was easy. The unit was very clean when I arrived and had everything I needed. Highly recommend.

Friendly host good location
The studio apt satisfied our needs. Travis was eager to please. The tv remotes were a challenge as were the 46 steps to get to the apt. Nice big bathroom, nice kitchen.

Very nice property.
Great unit and so convenient to restaurants and entertainment. Parking is a bit inconvenient but you get used to it in a day or two. Planning is key to making it work just fine. Thanks to Travis for the hospitality.

Gem in the Heart of Tacoma
Loved my stay here! I ended up extending my travel nurse contract for another 13 weeks and was so happy that this condo was still available to accommodate me! Located in the heart of downtown Tacoma with many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Condo itself is quiet, private, clean and had everything I needed and more to feel comfortable and at home. Huge plus was having Travis (landlord) next door and available via text if I needed anything. I would highly recommend staying here and if I came back to Tacoma, this is where I would want to stay!

Vibrant, decorative and comfortable apt in the heart of downtown Tacoma!
I'm a travel nurse and I've recently extended my contract and will be staying in this apartment for another three months! Location is ideal, literally steps away from countless bars and restaurants. Parking is free with rent and is located kitty-corner across the street in parking garage. When I first moved in, I instantly felt like I was home. Apt is well decorated, comfortable bed and large bathroom equipped with jetted bathtub. Kitchen has all supplies you can think of including basics like cooking oil, spices, etc. I look forward to my extended stay here and would definitely recommend this apt to anyone else looking to stay in the area.

Best Studio in Tacoma's Theater District
Laura made my first VRBO experience easy and wonderful. She was quick to respond about the rental and to any questions I had during my stay. She even had a bottle of wine, chocolates, and coffee for my arrival. I stayed in her studio for 3 months while I was doing a travel nurse assignment at Multicare-Tacoma General. It was within walking distance to the hospital and to all the great restaurants, breweries, theaters, and museums. The studio is spacious and beautifully decorated with art by her, her husband, or friends of theirs. It has an updated kitchen equipped with everything you need and a large bathroom with a shower and Jacuzzi tub. The balcony is spacious as well and has a very nice grill connected to a gas line. In the 3 months I stayed in Laura's studio, I only had to buy food at the grocery store. She has the place fully stocked with bathroom supplies (towels, shampoo/conditioner, body soap, lotion, hand soap, toilet paper, tissue paper) and kitchen supplies (dishwasher soap, paper towels, trash bags, cleaning supplies). The studio is also pet friendly. I had my 4 year old Great Dane with me. There is a park very close by with lots of green space and dog poop bags. Laura also provides garage parking. Everything about this Theater District studio is perfect.

Perfect rental for my long term stay!
I stayed at this rental while I was on a travel nurse job just outside of Tacoma for 3 months. This place was amazing! Laura was very prompt with answering questions that I had; and she even helped me out one morning when I locked myself out of the apartment! She also has tons of stuff that is at your use in the aparment, including: bath supplies, dishwasher soap, paper towels, etc...! She even had a bottle of wine and choclates for my arrival! The size is perfect for a solo or couple traveling, but the couch also folds out if you need more space. There really is nothing bad to say about this place. I had a wonderful stay! Thanks so much!

Fantastic place!
The pluses are so many. Laura is such a nice person. Very accommodating and kind. The apartment is in the heart of Tacoma's downtown, and I can't say enough about it. It's much, much bigger than it looks in the pictures. Clean, quiet and with balcony, you'll greatly enjoying the mornings and evenings here. The place just has a great overall vibe to it. There are some great bars and restaurants just downstairs that make it easy to get around without a car. But the apartment is high enough up that it is very quiet in the evenings. I loved this place and you will too!

This studio is exactly as described. My husband and I were in Tacoma, WA to visit family and friends for 6 weeks and stayed in this darling studio! When we arrived, the special gifts of coffee, wine and chocolate were so nice! There are plenty of bars/grills with good food in the area, including The Office downstairs in the building. I choose to cook sometimes and there were plenty of ingredients and condiments to use with my recipes. A secure, covered parking space came in really handy downtown. The owners, Laura and Marty were wonderful hosts during our visit. They went out of their way every day to make our stay fantastic! We will be back to stay again in this fun building!

What more can I add to all of the glowing reviews already posted here? I stayed for nearly three weeks in the top floor studio apartment during a recent business trip and it was fantastic. The bed, while not "hotel room" new, was incredibly comfortable; the bathroom includes a bathtub and separate shower; the balcony features a large gas grill; a washer and dryer are available; and the kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, appliances, and even condiments! I loved having The Office Bar and Grill right downstairs but found that the kitchen was so well equipped that more often than not I chose to cook in rather than go out.
As to eating out and the urban location, it's exactly as described. There are a number of excellent pubs and restaurants within minutes of the building, the City Center IGA grocery store is a short walk down Pacific Avenue, and you have easy access to both public transportation and major avenues, if you're driving. The parking garage felt very secure and was easily accessible at all hours.
Overall, this condo was exactly what I was looking for - a home away from home. It was spotlessly clean, well maintained, and Laura (the owner) was very easy to work with. I would definitely stay here again!

We were looking for a place to stay in Tacoma for the month of August 2013. Thanks to VRBO, we happened upon the perfect apartment!! All of the reviews are spot-on accurate! We don’t know how we can add to the comments of Guest B, 5/30/12; Guest Jan, 2/11/12; Guest Amanda V, 8/19/11. If anything, owners Laura and Marty just keep improving the studio apartment and are open to suggestions and very concerned about the comfort of their guests.
For us, the apartment was so well equipped and spacious it was our home away from home. We really appreciated the laundry facilities a few steps from our front door and having our van in secured off-street parking was a definite plus. We prepared many meals in the well-stocked kitchen and then worked it off going up and down the 48 steps to our front door. We are in our upper 60’s and at first that task was daunting but after a few times it was a breeze.
We found it hard to bid the owners and the apartment good-bye. We did buy two pieces of their artwork to bring back to Michigan as a happy reminder of our stay. We plan to be back in Tacoma next June and look forward to renting this apartment again. We highly recommend this charming studio if you are staying in the area, just not during the time we want to rent it.

While it sounds cliche', this studio apartment was all I expected and more, as I moved across country from South Carolina to Tacoma, Washington. I needed transition space for 30 days and I lucked out. The owner thought of everything!! The space, which was more than adequate, was immaculate for my move in. Even the toaster was cleaned of bread crumbs!!! Kitchen was stocked with necessary supplies/utensils and came with full size stove and fridge. Hangers were available in the closets. Bathroom was extremely large for the space, and everything was included including shower soap, body lotion and even cotton swabs for your ears. There was a washer and dryer available, and you guessed it -- laundry detergent was provided. As a person who loves to grill, the bonus for me was the gas barbecue on the patio. I grilled out many times. The location was perfect too!! It was only two and a half blocks from my new job, but situated in the heart of a fun and exciting area. On many evenings, I just trotted literally downstairs to the restaurant/sports bar, ate dinner, met new people, and enjoyed a ball game. Another bonus is the personal attention from the owner. The owner stayed in touch without invading your privacy, and always wanted to make sure the stay was going fine. I loved this studio condo, and recommend it without reservation!!!!

Our stay in Downtown Tacoma was much more pleasant and luxurious than we had imagined; and closely located to many local bars and restaurants that are just as unique as the place we stayed at.
Upon entering we were welcomed by cool and refreshing a/c (our stay was during warm weather) and art work that spread throughout the unit. The living area is quite large and gave the impression of being two rooms by having one side with a dining room table/chair set and desk, and the other side being the sleeping and lounging area with a television. The kitchen is in a separate room and is very large, complete with a full size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave.
Spanning the width of the unit, the balcony is very enjoyable. We utilized this area for breakfast many times since it is complete with an outdoor patio set.
Saving the best for last is the host, Laura. An artistic, intellectual, and very humorous person she will do everything and anything to make you feel like you are at home. All of the amenities that we needed were furnished by Laura. Laura is also the concierge and can tell you where and when to go for a night out whether you want a romantic dinner for two or a leisurely night out with some friends.
We highly recommend this unit if you are staying in the Tacoma area!
