VALLEY VIEW This multi-level 4 bd, 2.5 ba rustic home is centrally located in Canaan Valley and within walking distance to Mirror Lake. The living room offers a large wood burning fireplace with stone hearth, providing the perfect atmosphere for conversation or to curl up with a book. Great location, and views! Enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub a lot. The snow plow came up every day to the front door which helped as we got well over a foot of snow while there.

Looking for a winter getaway away with kids and grandkids and this property was ideal in size and location. A little odor issue upon arrival but diminished as sinks and toilets were used and traps were filled. Fireplace was nice but struggled to get a good “draw” working so abandoned the fires for the remainder of our stay. Hot tub was delightful.

Everything was as listed except the very strong musty smell. We had to wash the bedding ourselves and it still had a musty smell!!! You charged me a lot for cleaning charges I hope you use it for that purpose

False advertising and no one offered customer service.
The house has great potential with some deep cleaning and updates. The hot tub, view, and location was great. It’s advertised that there is a fireplace but it is not functional. With the flue open, smoke does not go out of the house but does fill up the room. The entire wall is covered in black soot from previous people wanting to build a fire… it is very obvious that this is an ongoing problem that hasn’t been addressed. The fire place is the top 3 reasons I booked. To make matters worse, when I reported, no one offered anything to help the situation. I tried several times and management never got back with me to attempt to make it right. Very dissatisfied. I HIGHLY discourage you from using this rental company.

Valley View is perfect for a family ski vacation. Close to Timberline and Canaan Valley-less than ten mins! Two ski shops nearby if you need to rent skis; shop n save close by. The town of Davis is adorable with little restaurants and shops. Our family of two parents and four kids ages 8-17 fit great and the hot tub was a plus (also very clean!)

The property was beautiful. The house has broken window cranks. The roof was leaking and had a wet spot on the floor in the living room and on the first floor. The bottom sliding glass door did not lock. The house smelled like mold and their were coach roaches. Cananna reality upgraded us to another property. It was not a good experience in this home. I could not sleep. The home needs to be fixed and updated.

Lovely area .. house needs some TLC
We have a lovely time and brought our dog. Some things I would’ve liked to have been updated .. the windows..not all or even most of them had screens and we were there in July so we needed the windows open and screens on the sliding glass doors in living room. Some of the windows were broken. And the blinds need attention.. some also broken ..would’ve loved some comfy chairs on the deck for morning coffee .. hot tub was perfect! Carpet needs replaced in living room; kitchen overall clean.

Had to relocate, but relocation was handled well
We had booked this property for four nights. Our first night was generally fine, though the house could use some fixup on both interior and exterior. The hot tub was in great shape, which I always find to be a gamble with rentals.
Unfortunately, when we woke up the following morning we discovered an issue that made us feel unsafe to continue staying in the house. While there are possible ways that issue could have been addressed, those efforts would have affected our ability to enjoy the house for the remainder of our stay.
We contacted the property manager, Canaan Realty, and notified them of the issue. To their extreme credit, they identified another available rental in the same area and let us complete our stay there. That house was quite nice, and an upgrade in some ways from the one we had rented.
We are appreciative of Canaan Realty's efforts to make the situation right, but the issue we found still meant we had to spend a chunk of time on a short trip moving between rentals.

First time visiting the area and the house was in a great location. Not too far out of the heart of Davis and very close to the other attractions of the Canaan valley. The house can easily accommodate multiple couples as a group retreat.

Great base camp to explore the area
Came to ski and had to have a hot tub so this place was the best we found on short notice. Only my wife and I but we enjoyed our stay. Great location right by both ski resorts. Great house for 2 or 3 couples or a family. Town of Davis is only 5 miles away. Area is pretty undeveloped which is fine for us…if you’re expecting nite life there’s not much in the neighborhood except gazing at the star filled sky while in the hot tub. Would rent again

Good rental.
The home is adequate for all of a renter's needs. The view is top notch.
Family room area and bedrooms are spacious. The home itself is older and not recently updated...so think of it has a bigger version of a cabin rental in one of the state parks...plus you gwt the hot tub and tv with subscriptions. Home is managed by rental company which was responsive and very clear on instructions and provided good info on the area.

A comfortable retreat
Check-in was a breeze because of the attentiveness of the property managers. We came for skiing but received hours of rain in the unusually warm temperatures. Instead, hiking nearby was tremendous. Beautiful valley that we will explore again.

Great Cabin location but need some improvements
We had pleasant stay with great cabin location. Restrooms needed fixtures & deep cleaning. Despite of paying good amount of cleaning fees, we had to do lot of things by ourselves.

Wonderful view, fantastic house
The view and location are top notch. Hot tub was very clean, millions of stars to see at night. House was clean, warm and fully stocked. Quiet area, close to many great things to do. Can't wait to come back.

My only complaint is the screen is missing in the sliding door to the balcony, and with no AC you want that breeze, but we got a LOT of flys inside because there’s no screen. The main level shower takes a while to drain also. One thing I was disappointed about is they pets are allowed, but you can’t take them to the lake area. I may have missed that, but that was a big selling point for us was the lake, and we ended up not even utilizing it for this reason. None of these things would stop me feom recommending the place. It had everything we wanted and needed.

The house was amazing until the plumbing went bad down stairs, had manger and maintenance come look at it but theres nothing they could do about it at that moment, I was promised some type of reimbursement for this but I never received any more information on that either.

Location is very good, property is clean and very lovely. Porch with hot tub is excellent. Beds are very comfortable. The complain is about appliances. All kitchen appliances are not working properly, refrigerator is not freezing and refrigerating, dishwasher is not washing, toaster is not toasting, coffeemaker is very old.
