Great location on the lake with very nice views. Nice clean facilities. All amenities available in the cottage. Did not get to use the outside due to cold weather but had a good setup outside as well.

Rustic house (cabin?) with a nice log cabin like feel on the inside. It's an older home (1950) but served its purpose for our stay.
Location is awesome, right on the lake at the end of a dead end road. Very quiet.
Water is non-potable which wasn't in the listing we saw but wasn't a big deal. Just be aware and bring bottled water.

The lake and location are great, super quiet street. The house has more furniture now than pictured above, and as noted in older reviews the mattresses are all pretty new. That said, the bathroom/shower had lots of black mold and the kitchen sink had layers of mold/mildew in it. Also the windows leaked when it rained (it was pretty windy as well but there was water coming in through the bottom of the sill). Just needs some basic maintenance and better cleaning!

Came up from TX to visit family that recently moved to Burlington and found this cozy place for four adults. This was PERFECT for our ~1week stay and was just 10-15 minutes from all the action around Church St in Burlington. VERY quiet and secluded neighborhood right on the lake at a very affordable price :).

Beautiful spot on the lake. Cottage has lots of character. Very comfortable as long as you don’t mind an occasional spider web. Kitchen could have used a few more amenities like a sharp knife.

Exactly as described. Nothing fancy but clean and well stocked with everything you need. Amazing sunsets and plenty to do in the area. Wi-Fi worked great.

This place was perfect for our mini vacation! Close to bike paths and within 20 minutes of Burlington and breweries! Would love to come back soon.

Checked into house with 1 bathroom that had an actual hole in the 1 bathroom sink leaking onto mildew ridden carpet (allergies!). Took 7 calls before fixed 2 days later - cs follow a process to log call and pass on and forget - not customer service at all! Not to mention thick dust under every end table and trash in yard. Compensation? Cleaning fee refund. Not delighted….

This was a nice location in a peaceful neighborhood, beautiful sunset views from the backyard/beach. The shower does run cold after 9-10 minutes, and we noticed some concerning stains on linens and seat cushions. Also this isn't really anyone's fault but the wind blowing bushes, etc. against the walls did keep us up some at night. A solid 4 out of 5!

We loved the Thayer Beach home. Very beautiful on a sandy beach, easy getting around, clean, and quiet, well stocked with toiletries, bedding, and everything we needed. Within walking distance to trails and a restaurant.

The Thayer Beach home was perfect for our family! We loved having the big open room for meals and games. Three bedrooms that we would break from each other!
Hot water was a challenge, especially as we were washing a lot of dishes. It might be beneficial to have a bit of a more heavy duty soap to wash the dishes in, especially considering the pandemic times we are in.

Comfortable and Cozy
Great views of the lake and sunsets. Just enough privacy. Conveniently located and quick access to Burlington. My kids keep asking “when are we going back to the lake?”

It’s really simple. These people could throw a few thousand into this place and it would be 100x better.
To start and probably the biggest thing is the mattresses. They are 1000 years old and unbelievably uncomfortable. Like really really bad. You’re better off sleeping on the floor.
The trash in the house is kept in a closet. That closet isn’t fully enclosed and the top of it opens up to a bedroom. So, the first bedroom on the left will smell like trash.
The living room furniture includes a wicker couch , and green chair with a leg rest and a broken recliner. The wicker couch is designed to be outdoors and was probably purchased around the same time the mattresses were.
There is carpeting in the bathroom that’s looked like it’s been there since the house was built. I couldn’t believe it. Even around the toilet. Gross.
The place was squeaky clean, that and the view out the back were the only positives to this place. New furniture, new comfortable mattresses and tile in the bathroom and this place would be great.

Pros:
-Incredible location/vista; breathtaking sunsets
-Proximity to hikes, lake, Burlington, Colchester, Champlain Causeway
-Frictionless check-in & check-out
-Cabin aesthetic is very relaxing, but with solid modern amenities
Cons:
-Pricey (a 12% booking fee? why?)
-Mediocre upkeep & corporate management (moldy shower curtain in bathroom, some cobwebs, felt nickel-and-dimed with 1 roll of paper towels for a 5-day stay + full kitchen); if you look at the reviews, a lot of times they will respond with "you had access to our 24/7 concierge service if you have an issue" but I'm on vacation and I don't want to have to call a hotline to get things that would be supplied by most rental properties without having to ask
-No advance warning that two adjoining properties had ongoing construction projects (one of which had clearly been going for a long time) - not a dealbreaker, but it was loud and started early in the morning
Overall, this property is really lovely, and we had an enjoyable time, but it didn't quite live up to the price tag. I would return if some improvements were made to both process & property.

While the lake was beautiful the house is not maintained well and neither are the grounds. We arrived and there were ants in the kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Wasps all throughout the house. The grass was not cut and there was (what we assume) goose poop all over the lawn so it was impossible for our 1 year old to walk through the grass. After dealing with it for 2 nights we decided to leave our vacation 2 nights early because the conditions were disgusting, multiple wasps in the bedrooms and ants crawling on us as we tried to sit in the living room or stand in the kitchen.
We called the property managers and we were told it’s common to have ants and wasps this time and year and they could send someone to spray. When we said we weren’t comfortable with that they said they would have a manager call me - a month later and I still haven’t gotten a call from them manager. I’ve called them 5 or 6 times and am always told I will receive a call back but never do. We way overpaid for this vacation (we booked during covid so we knew that was the case).
I waited over a month to write this review to give the property managers time to make the situation right. After my many non-returned phone calls we finally received and very minimal refund.

This is a smaller, older home. There is no AC, but there were fans to place in the windows, so we were able to stay comfortable during the summer. The lake is right outside; there was a grill which we used; a washer and dryer in the basement; and plenty of utensils for preparing and serving meals in the kitchen. We even got paddleboards delivered to us so we could spend a day paddling around the nearby lake area. There is a public swimming area down the beach so boats would come in on sunny days, but they were respectful of speed and wake. A fun vacation!

We have been renters and owners. Totally enjoyed our stay but have a couple of suggestions. We never did figure out the thermostat instructions, it was on the whole time and we couldn't adjust the temperature. Fortunately it was cool so we just opened the windows. Also, could have appreciated some additional instructions for the TV/Cable. But figured it out. The grill needed cleaning which we did. Also installed a cover plate in the main bedroom. It would be a good idea to have a pan by the door for people to wash sand off their feet. We have a similar septic system and you shouldn't let plants grow in the evaporator, those are the lungs of your septic. The entry way combination never worked properly but we didn't leave the house so it wasn't a big deal. We really enjoyed our stay but I would imagine that people more picky made have had an issue.

Charming little place on the coastline of Lake Champlain. Unique hunting/fishing decor with all the things you need for your vacation. Amazing sunsets. There is a nearby wetland and you can hear the peepers at night. As a little sign on the wall says “if you are lucky enough to have a house by the water - you are lucky enough”
