The Stowe Mountain House is one of three custom homes on a ¼ mile-long private drive in the beautiful Sterling Valley. This custom-built Vermont home, completed in 2013, offers quintessential Vermont charm with timeless New England styling that will immediately welcome you into your vacation. The abundant windows warm the house with natural light while directly connecting you to the outdoors. In the great room, the 30’ fireplace and unique corrugated metal ceiling claim's your attention while providing a spacious area for entertaining. This space offers seating for a dozen of your friends on the comfy down Restoration Hardware couches. A few steps and you’re into the heart of the home, in the oversized/open format kitchen with a custom-built dining room table. The kitchen also incorporates a cozy seating area with a coffee bar. Enjoy the game or your favorite show on the 40” LCD while you’re cooking or relaxing in the kitchen. Location Details! The property provides immediate access to Stowe’s Sterling Forest (Sterling Mountain) and Catamount Trail System, where you can enjoy backcountry skiing/riding, world-class hiking, fishing, swimming holes, mountain biking, Nordic skiing, and snowmobiling. At the property, enjoy the private brook access via the short grass trail so, bring your fishing gear or relax next to the babbling brook with a good book. We also developed the area with a fire pit. During the winter, you can sled down the front hill, and when the brook freezes, you’ll find snowshoe tracks going up the seasonal winter trail. Our two families (total of six kids between ages 10 and 14) and four adults had a wonderful stay over February school break. The house was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. It was beautifully situated in the woods with good sledding and easy access to Sterling Valley back country/xc/snowshoeing fun. We spent all or part of most days at Stowe Mtn Resort, which was about a 20 min drive away. Kitchen was very conducive to large group meals and games. Vincent, the owner, was very easy to reach and responsive when we had a brief issue with the hot tub—quickly resolved. All communications were very clear. We can’t wait to come back!

Great place for a big group!
This was our annual college roommate ( and now families) trip. We had six adults and 6 kids ages 8 to 13. There was plenty of room for everyone and great amenities for every age. The little girls loved the loft area and the older boys loved the big upstairs living room with giant sectional. The house was very clean and the beds were so comfy. When we were at the house, we were mostly gathered around the kitchen island. We also loved spending time down by the brook on the Adirondack chairs. It was the perfect distance to town and the mountain. We’d definitely go back!

Great house for a group
This house was the perfect getaway for our group of 12 friends exploring Stowe. We loved the outdoor area with fire pit and hot tub, as well as the spacious sleeping accommodations. Vincent was great to work and very responsive to questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Friends and I really enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, and it was equipped for entertaining (speakers throughout the house, fun area in the backyard for hot tub, fire, and grilling).

Great Stowe Getaway
We had a great stay in Stowe. We had 9 people at the house and plenty of space! The two large living rooms allowed everyone to spread out. The kitchen and dining area was awesome and had everything you need to make gourmet meals for the group! Vincent, the owner, was great to work with and he had a team of local people to assist of anything came up during our stay. We would definitely rent with Vincent again! This home was great!

Ski weekend trip 19'
Second time renting from Vincent and had another great experience. We had a group of 15 stay at the house and there was plenty of room. The home is gorgeous and spacious. Loved the open kitchen layout. We all adored the main living room just off the kitchen with the fire place and cathedral ceilings. So cozy and comfy! Perfect for lounging after a day on the slopes. Vincent is always timely and available for any pop up questions. We all had a great time and will be back next season! Thanks Vincent!

Amazing home. Just do it.
This is a special home that is absolutely perfect for groups/multi-family trips. We had four families, with four kids, and everything was perfect. Some areas that stood out for us. 1) The mud room. Coming back from skiing, it was nice to have a giant room for all of our stuff. 2) The space. From high ceilings, to plenty of beds, there was definitely more space than we anticipated. 3) The hot tub. It was new, clean, and very relaxing (especially in a blizzard!). 4) Communication with the owner. Vincent was always a text or call away. One of the best owners I have ever worked with. There are a ton of other nice touches that if you've ever rented a VRBO you would appreciate: heated floors, tons of extra silverware, both a coffee maker and a Keurig, beautiful fireplace, etc. My advice...this is the place.

Heated hardwood floors!
Our group just loved the heated floors, high ceilings, and loads of seating area for group discussions. Hot tub didn't hurt either! The house was immaculately clean and Vincent made things easy by providing all the information we needed up front. The WiFi was fast and reliable even with 24 devices connected most of the time. We'll likely stay here again for next year's trip!

Perfect family getaway in a winter wonderland
We were lucky to spend Christmas 2018 at the Stowe Mountain House. The house is perfectly appointed to comfortably accommodate a big group with plenty of spaces to gather together (the dinner table seats 14 without a squeeze), and just as many to steal away for some restful naps or peace and quiet. The sleeping arrangements are creative and comfortable, and the house is both cozy and spacious. We loved the comfy couch in the kitchen (a big hit with our group), radiant floor heat, the gorgeous fireplace in the great room, the easy-to-access hot tub and fire pit, and modern conveniences like DirectTV, Netflix on the big screen TVs, and powerful wifi. A walk around the neighborhood put the best of Winter VT on display with a the snow-lined creek and nearby covered bridge. The location was perfect for easy access to Stowe village, Stowe and Sugarbush Mtns for skiing, and nearby grocery stores and restaurants ... but secluded enough to feel like a real escape. Vincent was a pleasure to work with, responsive and helpful, and the consummate host. We hope to be back!

The House was emacately clean and organized. We did need the driveway to be sanded at one point. The plow person was very quick and very friendly on the phone. Working with Vincent was easy and he was always available to answer any questions within minutes. I highly recommend this house for your next getaway! You’d certainly be missing out if you stayed elsewhere!

The owner, Vincent, was exceptionally quick to respond and very thorough with helping us find great hikes and places to eat in the area! A few people went skiing at Stowe Mtn and we visited a couple of breweries that were within a 10 min drive.
Overall, it was a beautiful house with great bones and decorated simply beautiful accommodating a large group of friends with kids. As the couple who spearheaded the trip and booked the house, we felt very proud and happy to have picked this house in a great location close to activities and hikes but also remote and intimate. Everyone wants to book this house again for next year!

The Stowe Mountain Property is an excellent option for big groups of friends and family. The location is ideal for those looking for easy access to trails and outdoor adventures. There is plenty of parking and Stowe village is a pleasant ten minute drive. The house has plenty of space and the back patio, hot tube and fire pit create an excellent space to relax. The only caveat is the majority of bed space is created through bunk rooms. As long as your group is understanding and looking forward to this arrangement (great for kids!) then it is hard to find any negative with this property. Overall and excellent experience!

A group of 9 of us, ranging in age from 19 to 86 years old, stayed at this hidden gem in early August, 2018. The house is easily accessible to Stowe and is situated in a picturesque, wooded setting. There are neighbors nearby but it is a very quiet area. The house has plenty of space, bedding options and amenities. All the comforts of home and everything you need to have a fantastic stay! Impeccably clean! Vincent is very responsive, easy to work with and he and his team will respond to issues that may arise in a timely fashion. Our stay was during a fairly humid period and there were fans provided, but no AC (which we knew prior to our stay when we booked, because we inquired). We followed the sun, closing the windows and the shades where the sun was the strongest and then reopened once the strongest sun passed. That seemed to help keep the house a comfortable temperature. Only one afternoon and night were uncomfortable due the warm temperature and oppressive humidity. We would love to stay at Stowe Mountain House again in the future! We had a amazing family vacation in your home. Thank you!

Once in a while you happen upon a gem and that is exactly what we found at this beautiful Stowe mountain house. If you’re looking for a home away from home while on vacation, a super spacious house where you can completely zen out in a space with every amenity you can hope for, look no further, because this is it!
The entire home is immaculate.
The huge, fully stocked kitchen is perfect for a large group, with or without kids. The first floor family room with sky high ceilings, the most comfortable couches, and beautiful stone fire place was perfect for lounging. Want a book to read or a game to play? You’ll find it within reach.
The bedrooms are all spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are open and airy. The additional 2nd floor lounge space is a huge surprise bonus!
Lots of sunlight pours into the house. Lots of windows with great views!
The deck, outside sitting area, fire pit, and hot tub were all used and appreciated. There’s a useful and oversized area, away from the action, where you can store all your outdoor clothes and sports gear.

The house is in a nice quiet location, but still conveniently located 5-10 minutes from downtown. Our group of 12 fit comfortably with room to spare; plenty of seating for everyone in the living room, kitchen, and outdoors. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking big meals. We found everything to be clean and functioning. We only used the fire pit at the house, however there is a second one across from the driveway down by the brook that looked like a great spot to hang out - would just need to bring some chairs. The brook was a refreshing spot to wade in and cool down. Hot tub is a great addition. Owner was easy to work with and everything was seamless as far as instructions for our arrival. Would definitely recommend this property!
