About this villa rental
Situated in Venetian Road Settlement, this attractive villa for $399 per night is a great option for your next trip. This home is set on one of the highest points in Providenciales called Sunrise Ridge. Turtle Tail, our neighborhood is not the usual overdeveloped resort area full of condos. Our neighborhood has well spaced multimillion dollar homes. No noisy neighbors here, just space, piece and quiet and have I mentioned the views? Since Turks and Caicos is all about the weather and being outside let's start there. Right alongside the house is our new swimming pool. Sit on the deck with your morning coffee and watch the ocean change color. When it heats up, cool off hanging out in the pool or retreat to the covered porch that runs the length of the house. When it's time for dinner, you can choose the well appointed full interior kitchen with new appliances or throw somthing to grill on our new BBQ. In the event it is getting cool, light up the firepit and sip on a cocktail while waiting for dinner. Then you can dine on our large outdoor table with nice lighting accents and a fan in case it didn't cool off! No condos or resorts with guests everywhere here - this is all for your use, shared with just one other studio unit which has a maximum of two guests. There is lots of room to roam with a long entry driveway, seats looking out the other way over Flamingo lake towards the island in case you get tired of the ocean view and even a nature trail that takes you through the 5 acres that the house is set on. OK lets go inside. The home has everything you need to enjoy the Turks and Caicos islands including a fully equipped kitchen with new stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, cooker, oven, microwave and washer and dryer. We travel a lot ourselves so we know what people need to be comfortable so we've provided a coffeemaker, blender, toaster, kettle, hairdryers etc. etc. We've tried to add everything you'll need including beach chairs, coolers and a sun umbrella for the beach along with buckets and spades for the young ones! The main bedroom has a king sized bed, built in closets and airconditioning. The second bedroom has two twin beds that can be pushed together to form another king. There's a/c in here too. The house has a 52 inch Sony HDTV equipped with a roku box with Netflix and connections for you to hook up your own media. There is a BluRay DVD player, lots of DVDs, books and games. Of course there is wifi for staying in touch Please note : A/C use is generally not needed since we have such great breezes. If you do need to use a/c it is metered and charged at the same rate we pay the utility company. Within 2 mins drive (approx. 1 mile) Beaches - with calm shallow water perfect for playing, swimming and snorkeling (maps in villa detailing how to find them) Juba Salina (fishing!), diving and boating Flamingo Lake (flamingos in season)(best bone fishing in Provo) Bob's Bar Marina with dive and tour operators Within 8 minutes drive: Grace Bay Long Bay Turtle Cove, The Bight Park (home of the world famous weekly Fish Fry) Dozens of restaurants! Great communication with the hosts before, during, and after our stay. Finding the house was easy with their directions and check in was a breeze! The house and grounds are beautiful, we loved sitting by the pool in the mornings, just enjoying the peaceful views. We did have an issue which the hosts worked to resolve right away and communicated with us promptly throughout and it was resolved within the day (the AC stopped working and they had a new minisplit put in.). The house is clean, spacious, and comfortable. Each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom. The bedrooms each have their own AC and we slept very well. I have absolutely no complaints and would love to stay again!!

This cottage was super cute. The pics don’t do it justice. The beds were super comfy. My family especially enjoyed the pool- my kids went right to the pool after spending the day at the beach. Terri, Allison, and Ray we’re all very easy to contact if needed. Amazing view of the ocean. They have a few beach chairs, umbrellas, and pool floaties there to use. We would definitely stay again.

We loved being off the beaten path, the cottage was less than 15 minutes to the tourist zone and abt 15 minutes or less to everything else (from airport to more local restaurants/beaches). The view is amazing and the space was more than adequate. The pics could use updating -(mainly to show the new dine in kitchen space). We loved our time there and the secluded feel. The option of a quick dip to cool off under the stars was amazing. Never crossed paths with the neighbors in the studio, so no problem there! Thanks for the memories, we hope to visit again!

Our cottage was truly a perfect home away from home! It's was so comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay wonderful! Our own pool added an extra specialness to our vacation and the view was breathtaking each and everytime of day! Time spent in this beautiful place really does feel like paradise!

Really enjoyed our stay at Sunrise Ridge Cottage. The view is phenomenal and the pool is a nice feature. The cottage was recently redone and was clean and comfortable. Great communication throughout the process. Beaches were a little further than we expected but not a deal breaker for us.

This is a very special rental. The view is absolutely gorgeous. The cottage is lovely, with a good kitchen, nice bedrooms, newly redone bathrooms, and numerous ceiling fans to help keep it cool. We loved the seclusion and privacy the location offered, yet also found it a quick drive to everything on the island. The couple staying in the Studio were polite and friendly, making it easy to share the outdoor space.
When we ran into a couple of problems prior to arrival, the hosts were very willing to problem-solve with us.
As mentioned in other reviews, a couple of items require attention: the main screen door needs to be replaced and the safe must be bolted to the floor.

This cottage was exactly what we were hoping for - close enough to go to different activities and restaurants but far enough away to be a quiet oasis. The view was spectacular, having the pool was so nice, and the covered porch really did allow us to be outside no matter the time of day. We never had to turn on the AC, even at night. The metal roof does get LOUD if there's a heavy rain, but luckily those don't usually last that long. The photo of the kitchen area should be updated as it's been rearranged during an apparent remodeling, but the layout is actually more open now. It was a great place to stay!!

While the space was adequate and the views gorgeous, we did have a number of concerns.
The space itself did not match the photos on VRBO. The photos listed a newly renovated kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen looked completely different in reality than the listing photo and the bathroom in the listing does not exist in that space.
The refrigerator light was not working and the bulb dangles hazardously out of its housing.
When traveling you rely on there being a working iron. The one available at the property was badly damaged and did not work.
We did use the grill one evening to find that at dusk none of the outside lighting was working, nor did the outdoor fan shown in the listing exist beyond the broken fixture where it once was. The lantern on the table by the grill was rusted and completely broken. There was also no means of cleaning the grill.
Much of the furniture appears old, worn and stained and again does not match some of the listing photographs. There were also stains on the sheets and bedding.
The safe was no longer bolted to the floor and is light enough to pick up and carry. There was no dresser for clothing so we lived out of our suitcases for the week.
There were privacy curtains on all of the sliding glass doors except the one facing the shared outdoor space. We could see the remnants of where a curtain rod used to be. This was uncomfortable for us when the guests in the studio were using the pool area.
The Adirondack chairs and seating area in the listing do not exist.
We had booked this property for a vacation to celebrate a 50th birthday and were disappointed with the reality of the property versus the listing. Overall, to us, this felt like a property that has been neglected and not maintained and the VRBO listing felt, in many respects, like false advertising.
We did appreciate the detailed information packet provided.

I honestly do not know where to start. The location and views are nothing short of awesome. Stepping in or out of the house, you're just about always greeted with a view. The house is perfect for a couple, with a guest or two, cozy without being cramped. The large property ensure privacy, yet it is just a 5 minute drive to the main highway and the grocery store. The property manager was super-communicative, we can't wait to come back!

We were delighted to stay for 11 days. Here are some highlights & ideas on how the property could be even more amazing.
Highlights:
• View: Pristine waters, no boat traffic, and an awesome sunrise.
• Breeze: Allowed us to avoid using the air conditioning for nearly the entire stay.
• Tranquility: At the end of a Court road, in a quiet residential community. The pool is shared with the adjacent 'Studio' property, however our neighbours were very quiet. The family at the neighboring 'Villa' property was also quiet.
• Amenities: We appreciated the semi-private pool, outdoor lounge with BBQ & fire pit, private parking, ensuite bathrooms, washer & dryer, and beach items such as chairs & snorkeling fins.
• Help & service: The interior is ultra-clean and the outdoor areas are nicely maintained. For the couple questions I raised during our visit, Terri was quick to help. The pre-arrival property guide was excellent!
Opportunities: The "cottage" moniker covers some of the cottage-like experiences - for example the rickety screen door, the minimal shelf-space in the bedroom closets, the lack of toilet paper holders. That said there were a few elements that ended up being downsides:
• Septic smell that wafted through the kitchen/living area multiple times. Maybe an incorrectly installed trap behind the washing machine?
• Rooftop noise from the couple rain showers was expected considering the roof is metal, however what was frustrating was that our roof made clattering or creaking noises during any amount of wind gust each night.
• Not an issue though surprising that the property looked a bit different than the photos in the listing. The renovation likely made improvements however it would be good to update the photos to reflect the new kitchen & bathroom layout, the slight differences in furniture items, and lack of Adirondack chair section overlooking Flamingo Lake.
• Poor kitchen setup. Lack of overhang at the bar counter made it uncomfortable to sit/eat. Lack of any kitchen overhead/stovetop/microwave lighting made it gloomy to prep food in the evenings. And for a property that might have 4 guests, a few of the kitchen items felt limited such as only 1 cutting board, only 1 paring knife, only a 2-slice toaster, etc. Only minor inconveniences however as we do a lot of our own food prep during vacations, it made the property less compelling.
Overall a good stay at Sunrise Ridge Cottage. Thank you Alison for sharing this property with visitors!

We stayed at Sunriseridge cottage for one week and were totally pleased with our stay.
The place was cleaned, spacious and had beautiful ocean view. The neighborhood was quiet but not too far from the beaches and groceries stores, restaurants … I highly recommended you rent a car while staying in T&C to give you flexibility to go to different beaches. The cottage provides a bbq grill, stove, range… so you should buy food from the nearby IGA or Sunny Foods to cook your own meals.
The communication from the host was friendly and informative from the beginning to the end.
I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone who visits Provo.

We rented the cottage and studio for our trip with a family of five, ages 11 to 81! The location was away from crowded Grace Bay and tranquil. The views were amazing. The house and studio were well-appointed. Alison was readily reachable anytime something came up or we wanted expertise on island activities. I would not hesitate to recommend or stay here again. We visited in January, and no air conditioning was required. The pool was too cold for our California kids, but they loved hanging out in the hammock. We ate all of our meals outside because the weather was just beautiful. If you have room in your luggage, bring some food items from home such as coffee, cereals etc... The food here is extremely expensive. Stuff grown locally is very reasonable, but everything else must be imported with a hefty pricetag.

The views were incredible. The pool was absolutely perfect. The fire pit was great to use at night, even at 80 degrees. The host was so quick to respond on any of our questions or concerns. Great location, if you love to lookout over the ocean!! Couldn’t be happier!!!!

We absolutely loved sunrise ridge cottage! We stayed with our two children (2 & 5) and they absolutely loved the pool and we loved the breathtaking views! We loved the area of the island and how the home was situated on the hill! The cottage indoor kitchen and outdoor kitchen was awesome!

Fantastic Vacation
We loved our time at Sunrise Ridge. Alison was wonderful to work with, and she made me feel welcome even before we arrived. The house was exactly as advertised and well stocked and made us feel like our home away from home. My in laws stayed in the studio on site which worked very well for our family. That additional property makes a nice opportunity if you are traveling with extended family or friends. My kids spent every afternoon in the pool and I may have felt bad for the studio occupants if we didn't know them.
The cottage was close to every place we wanted to go, but away from the crowds. You will need a car but you can get everywhere in 15 minutes or less. It was wonderful to wake up each day to the amazing view and only hearing the birds and the breeze. This was exactly what our family needed!

Tranquil, private, beautiful view.
This 2 bedroom cottage is exactly as pictured and we would return. Ceiling fans cooled wonderfully. We never turned on the AC.
Sliding screen door needs replacement and sofa is uncomfortable. But we weren’t spending much time inside on the sofa with that view!
I would recommend higher quality beach chairs and a beach umbrella as a cost of doing business.
