Minimal issues. Stayed the weekend to attend a wedding in town. The building shows it age a bit but is otherwise charming.

I booked this place for a birthday get away with some friends and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived! Everything was organized and clean and would definitely stay here again!

Love Vermont and this little place represents it to a T ! Off the beaten track but so easy to get to and lots of places to easily get to.

We really enjoyed the house and the location was beautiful, complete with a nearby brook and some awesome turkey’s that came to visit in the morning. Would stay again in a heartbeat! The area is lovely!

We stayed for one night. The area is very secluded and wooded with no service (until connected to wifi) so be prepared!

Grafton is a small town in the sticks. Very charming with victorian architecture everywhere. The Fullerton Inn was a great spot for gourmet dinner. The schoolhouse is in the sticks behind the sticks. No unpleasant surprises here. A running creek with lots of sound was within 50 ft of the front door.

Just stayed one night on our way to Maine but it was clean and the bed was comfortable no complaints other than a neighborhood boxer came to investigate and would not leave so we could take our dogs out. No fault of the property owner though just an FYI

Everything was there that we needed. Plenty of fun and relaxation, must see the Village peddler, chocolate, and Sugar Shack

Wonderful cottage! Very clean and organized. Property was well maintained. The screened-in porch is an excellent space for relaxing outside without the hassle of any critters. Definitely recommend!

The property is very cute and cozy and the description is spot on. We had a great time exploring the area. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

Really enjoyed the house, very unusual and in a great location. The only issue with the posting was that it appeared to be out in the middle of a field and it’s not. It’s it’s across the road from a beautiful little creek and about 3 miles in either direction from some wonderful little towns.

This property is exactly as advertised -- a rustic retreat in the Vermont mountains. We loved the cozy place that had everything we needed for a self-catered ski week at Okemo.
A few notes: it is not a huge place, and while there are options for larger groups to sleep, the small single bathroom and limited hot water tank size would probably make it very difficult for extended time for groups over 4. Also, as other reviews point out, the dirt road is very close to the front door and the neighbors do like to drive quite fast on it. We did find some mouse droppings in the morning around our food, which isn't exactly surprising given the wooded location and the difficulty in keeping out critters from 100 year old buildings. Finally, our son was disappointed to discover the tub drain wouldn't plug, so his dream of using the jetted tub didn't happen.
All-in-all, however, this was a great place with a true Vermont patina to it. We loved our time.

Wonderful place to unplug and spend time with family. We had a great time playing Taboo at night and enjoying the clear night sky.

The house and property were great and an easy drive to Okemo mountain. The number on the app for the host was invalid when we tried to call is my only complaint, but they reached out to me quickly once we contacted Vrbo. I would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable but basic.

Nice place. Well equipped. We had a bit of difficulty with internet, apparently because of a mechanical problem in the street. This took a couple of days to repair. Otherwise, a nice visit.

Nice and cozy - bedding and towels should be replaced. Instructions for front door lock need improvement. Property is close to the road.

Katherine was put in a tough spot but reacted graciously and efficiently. We enjoyed our stay in this well-appointed, homey, and straightforward home. No complaints!

The schoolhouse was a very convenient location for a wedding we attended. House was clean and had everything we needed.
Just FYI for folks with young kids and dogs… there isn’t a lot of traffic on the dirt road (house is on the road) the vehicles that did come by, went way too fast!!

Lovely stay!
We had a lovely stay at the Schoolhouse. It was plenty spacious for our group of 5. The screen porch is wonderful. We had daily visits from neighborhood guinea fowl. The host is accommodating. The kitchen was well stocked and large enough to cook regular meals. We enjoyed the books and games. There were two fans in the house, but we were glad we had brought two extra. The location is quiet, aside from regular truck traffic on the nearby road-- not a big issue for us, but could be if you you needed to watch after smaller kids. A few more details regarding the stay, such as trash disposal procedures, would have been helpful since we were staying a week. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

It was great. My family came for a wedding and the place met all of our needs. It is a cozy house on a quiet country dirt road and near both Grafton and Chester. The screened in porch was great place for a morning coffee and quiet devotional. We were visited each morning by two quails.

The place was clean and the owner was very accommodating. Only down side is that the screen door had a hole in it so the bugs were getting into the screened in porch. Will definitely be staying here again!

Tired Teacher Getaway
A great, cozy spot to unwind for a night! We came up to VT over our April vacation for a girls antiquing trip, and stayed for a night. After shopping all day, we settled in with some snacks and drinks, started a fire, and played board games late into the night. It was quiet, and more importantly, technology unplugged. It was just what we needed!
*One suggestion would be to bring a nightlight or two to plug in upstairs. It was completely pitch-black (which was great for sleeping) as there are no light sources once you turn off the main lights.

This was a wonderfully quiet and relaxing place for our gals getaway. Kitchen is well stocked with standard needs and well organized. House was warm and comfortable. The sound of water rushing downhill from the brook across the street makes it such a peaceful atmosphere. While we were there, we actually removed the battery from a wall clock so there was utter silence. It was marvelous.
I would avoid a visit there during the spring, mud season (unless you have a vehicle that is high off the ground). It is only accessible via a dirt road. The numerous areas of deep mud that we had to travel thru were most unpleasant.
We had never opened a key box before so that was a bit of a challenge. It took a number of minutes to figure out.
Other than that, a great place.
