Wonderful stay and amazing communication with host.

Authentic traditional Japanese home was simple but enlightening. An awesome experience I am glad I had.

Would love to stay here again!

We loved staying here. The house is beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed - including bicycles to explore Omihachiman! Mon-san was also very communicative before hand and shared us a lot of tips and recommendations. It was also an amazing location to attend the Sagicho fire festival over the weekend.

Great accommodation!!

Great experience in accommodating a well-preserved traditional Japanese dwelling.

Bathroom and washroom separately from the house with few steps apart within the private yard. But it is exactly what traditional Japanese living is.

Beautiful historic home in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by nature

This is almost like an Airbnb (I mean this as a compliment). It’s cozy and like you’re staying in someone’s home. It actually was at one point. This is in a residential area and is very peaceful and quiet. If you need food, restaurants in town and a 7/11 are about a 15 minute walk away. There’s some great restaurants nearby, just be aware these restaurants are not always open so check time and day. This place was a perfect rest stop after traveling so much. Highly recommend and would love to visit again.

なんと言っても重伝建、近江八幡市新町通りの中で、玄関土間や離れの水場など木造長屋生活が不便なく実体験できます。

室内灯がもう少し明るいと、室内で読み書きの際など有難いです。
