SUN ALL DAY. A 3 minute walk gets you to the heart of Boothbay Harbor for shopping, dining, boat rides, and entertainment. No need to worry about parking. This cove is tidal and has 6-8 feet of water at high tide and is a natural habitat for waterfowl, Striped Bass and Mackerel. The back yard features beautiful gardens and a sitting/dining area right at the water's edge under a large pergola covered with wisteria and grapevine. Relax in one of our many Adirondack chairs on the waters edge. Enjoy the fire pit while roasting S'mores and watching the sunset on the cove. If you're feeling adventurous, we provide you with 3 ocean kayaks, or you can swim and fish off your own private dock and float without ever leaving the property. Relax on the large deck equipped with gas grill and large dining area overlooking the magnificent gardens and the harbor. The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen features a large island with dine-up seating. The sun room/dining area is just off the kitchen and features cozy pillow wrap around seating. The spacious but cozy Tuscan-style living room has bistro-style dining for four, beautiful gas fireplace, 46' LED Smart TV with surround-sound with French doors leading out onto the expansive porch overlooking the gardens and cove. Master bedroom has a king bed, separate dressing room as well as a lounging area with Smart TV. French doors leading onto a private deck overlooking the water. Bedroom 2 is water-view with a queen bed. BR 3 has 1 full and 2 twin beds . All bedrooms are located on the second floor. There is a full size pull out sofa bed in the living room. My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Karen and Alden’s home. Everything was right on from Karen greeting us and the weather. Coming from Florida it was a joy with the weather. We enjoyed going to town and enjoying local food. Karen and Alden have quite the home. Beautiful and everything we needed. We were quite happy with our stay. Would do it again

We had a great time staying at your home. The location is fantastic given its right on the harbor with a dock along with being a short walk to town. When in the house you don't hear much traffic noise. Even on the deck and out on the dock you don't hear much either.
The home's eclectic decor is very interesting and fun. There is plenty of room in the well-equipped kitchen that also has a great view that you can enjoy while preparing meals. Eating at the large table surrounded by glass or on the deck provides great views.
Having the ability to use the 3 kayaks while there was nice and allowed us to explore the harbors.
The owners were very responsive at check-in and came to greet us when we checked in. They even dropped off fixings for smores to use at the firepit!
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Although the weather was less than perfect with hurricane lee heading our way, there was plenty to do. It's a short walk to town and the property itself has everything you could.want or need. Our adult children enjoyed the kayaks and we all enjoyed the decks, chef's kitchen, and firepit. Karen and Alden are excellent hosts!

We had a very nice time and the location was perfect. We were walking distance to the shops. It was just a few minute drive away from the Botanical Gardens and many great restaurants.

The house was a relaxing escape in the heart of Mill Cove and Boothbay Harbor, that had all the feelings of our personal home away from home. Our stay at Mill Cove could not have been better. This is an unbelievably beautiful and special property. Everything here is just fantastic - from the huge kitchen, to the luxurious rain shower, to the eclectically-decorated living spaces, to the views out every window facing the water, from sunrise to sunset. The convenience of being able to just walk downtown from the home was so wonderful. Everything was impeccably clean. Karen is a joy and could not have been a more gracious host. We were comfortable in every possible aspect here. I think this is the best vacation rental that I've ever stayed at and I cannot wait to return here soon.

Exceeded expectations. The home was as-described, immaculately clean, and well-equipped. The location can't be beat - easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants, but still right on the water and private. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful, and kayaking from the dock couldn't be better. We hope to return!

We had a rough start to our holiday, but upon arriving we realized that the place had the perfect mix of what we want from a holiday return. Great spot with lots of garden space, right on the water, and lots of natural light.
The kitchen definitely enhances the art of cooking away from home. Good layout. We could talk to each other when cooking as when we stay at a studio apartment.
The location gives the person staying here enough distance from downtown to enjoy quiet and deck relaxing, but close enough to allow for a short walk to Boothbay Harbour. The hosts have a good taste for design; you will really like staying here.

Had a great time at Mill Cove. Our first vacation since 2019 with our Luna (Husky) that we got right before covid. My husband and I enjoyed having all 3 kids with their husbands and girlfriend along with our little grandson who just turned 1. What a great spot and close to town where we walked alot! Just hanging by the fire pit at night was perfect! The hosts couldn't have been nicer.

A family heirloom, this property has been in the host's family for more than 80 years. And as a builder, the upgrades and updates have made the home a perfect place for family & friends to experience Boothbay Harbor. To say this home was accurately described I would need more stars- before I even walked into this lovely home I was at peace. The grounds are spectacular- Gardens full of color and a deck that even on a rainy day you'd enjoy ( and we did!!)
Inside the home we found the most comfortable stay I think we have ever had through VRBO. The house is warm and cozy and so very comfortable . It is peaceful and serene. There is enough room for families or perfect for just a couple as we are .

The walk in to town was enjoyed more than once- so close to the town center for an afternoon walk or mornimg coffee ( although I'd make coffee and go enjoy the wonderfully situated pier!
If you are looking for a peaceful and restful stay this is for you!
Our host(s) were amazing - a warm welcome with a Maine blueberry cake (THAT went fast ) and even fresh eggs!!
I am certain we will be back.
Oh one more thing - the best shower!! And you won't need a thing in the kitchen other than your food because it literally has it ALL!

After reading the reviews for this home and booking it for our family vacation, our expectations were quite high. And I have to say they were most definitely exceeded! This home and property are everything others have said. The home is beautifully decorated with wonderfully appointed living spaces, the gardens are spectacular, the views stunning, and the location unbeatable! There is a lovely outdoor sitting space for every occasion and weather type. We made it a goal to sit in every one at some point during our stay! Karen and Alden were simply lovely, and it’s quite clear they take a great deal of pride in their home and their town. An exceptional experience!!!!

I booked on a whim deciding that I finally deserved a real vacation and had no idea what to expect. This property as well as Karen & Alden blew my expectations out of the water. From s'mores by the fire, swimming and looking for crabs off the dock, relaxing on the decks, kayaking, treasure hunts and games in the yard, and enjoying the quirky, comfy and functional house (the kitchen is outstanding), we can't wait to return for years to come! Lovely stay at Alden’s and Karen’s seaside oasis. Perfect location just minutes from the town of Boothbay Harbor. Warm and eclectic home with beautiful gardens of flowers encompassing the property. A welcoming basket of goodies was left for us on arrival. Both Karen and Alden are super helpful and kind and attended to our every need. So happy that they welcomed our two pups too! We will be back!

Karen and Alden go above and beyond to make sure you have every thing you need and to feel like you’re in your own home!! Incredible kitchen, deck, fire pit for s’mores, kayaks! I walked the gardens every morning to see new blossoms from so many varieties of flowers! Even blueberries!! Boothbay Harbor is the coolest, friendliest town!

Fabulous home and location!
We came here for a family vacation - parents, adult kids + spouses and a grandchild. First, the home was fabulous! The location is just a short walk into town and right on the water. The Jordans provided us with ample local information and guidance. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out. The house was fully equipped for cooking, barbecuing, outdoor fire pit, kayaking. The gardens were stunning and most rooms were adorned with fresh flowers. Karen met us and gave us a briefing on the house and checked in to ensure all was well (and it was!). We strolled the town, ate plenty of lobster, saw lighthouses, took a harbor cruise and enjoyed the botanical gardens. We would love to return to Boothbay Harbor and this home!

Great Location
We loved spending time on the deck, overlooking harbor (especially at high tide) having morning coffee, cocktails and reading! My kids love to cook and we found the kitchen to be fully equipped and very functional. Lots of sitting areas in open kitchen/family and living room, so there was more than enough space to spread out and not feel cramped.
Only a five min walk to center of town and we found several great coffee spots, breakfast places (Mama D's) and made several stops to the local Downeast Ice cream store!
At high tide, we enjoyed swimming off the dock or going for a kayak. Our dog eventually figured out how to get in/out of water and loved it. Beautiful gardens and quiet setting.
Karen and Alden were very gracious hosts.

Incredible Stay!
This property was amazing. It was clean, beautifully decorated, and the hosts added so many thoughtful touches. The kitchen was fully equipped. There were plenty of linens. The beds were comfortable. The close proximity to town meant we didn’t have to worry about crowded downtown parking in Boothbay Harbor, but the space was secluded enough for privacy and quiet. Karen and Alden were quick to respond when we needed them and gave us a good run-down on how everything worked in their home at check-in. I can’t recommend this property enough!

Amazing House and even better host
Karen did all the little touches to make our stay incredible. We arrived at night and she had all the lights on and music playing for us. It was our 26th wedding anniversary and she left a card and bottle of champagne with chilled glasses for us. Walking distance to Boothbay. We are planning on returning.
