About this house rental
Located in Lake Barkley, this charming house for $222 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Our three bedroom, two bath home is located in Cannon Springs North. We are Family Friendly and several guests said my listing says not suitable for children and it most certainly is. I cannot see where that is coming from!!! You must go down a Steep Drive but you are a short walk to the lake and do not have a neighboring house to your left and right as they are all at the top of the Valley Hill. You do not have to worry about pets getting close to the road and you will likely see Deer, Squirrels, Birds, Bats and Hawks just by sitting on the huge deck under the prow. At night when the stars come out the view of the sky is amazing. There is plenty of space to relax upstairs on the main deck, under the deck, down on the dock or around the fire pit by the outdoor shower (which does offer hot and cold water and is very nice for people and pets alike). Lucky Lake House is pet friendly and named after my rescue dog Lucky! There is an outdoor gas grill and a small efficient kitchen area. During Spring and Summer you can keep your boat at the dock and enjoy some great fishing. Once the core drops the water many docks on the lake are no longer in deep water but Lucky Lake House is a convenient 1.5 miles from Dryden Creek Boat Launch. It is easy to launch the boat their for the day and simply leave it at the top of the hill where there is plenty of parking space for multiple boats and or/trailers. There are three bedrooms (2 kings and one queen) plus two bathrooms. There is also a full size futon in the loft area outside of the upstairs master. If you are ready to cook the kitchen has all the plates, utensils, pots, pans and cookie sheets that you'll need. The kitchen is small and compact. Just enough room for the head cook to whip up a meal in no time so that you can get back to enjoying the beautiful outdoor areas. Lucky Lake House has DSL internet (this area can only get ATT DSL) and so compared to today high speed providers it is very slow. We can stream Netflix, pull in emails and get to Facebook and such but again it is not superfast. There is also Direct TV. There is a sound bar and a Bose Soundcube for you to hook to via Bluetooth for music. You can also stream music from a Direct TV music channel. At the end of a fun filled day, grab a towel and head down to that outdoor shower. If you want to bring some firewood then there is a outdoor fire pit just past the shower. People want to come Spring and Summer but when water activities end people forgot about how great the lake area is. Come and visit during the Fall and Early Winter. Land Between The Lakes is a Beautiful area to drive in the fall and there are many places to hike, see buffalo and an original homestead. You can go into Cadiz and explore antique shops, get a bit to eat at many new and long established restaurants or go play around of golf at the nearby Mineral Mounds State Park. . The core of engineers controls the lake level and sometimes it is low and other times it is high. We often see deer going by down by the and on the drive in. There are many birds, bats, flowers and foilage. Come and enjoy it!

Had a nice quiet stay on the lake. Saw three deer each morning. Caught a bunch of fish down on the lake. Peaceful and relaxing.

We enjoyed our stay at the lake house, our daytrips to land between the lakes and fishing at a near by boat ramp. While the dock at the lake house is mostly out of the water due to winter pool, it was still lovely to walk down and be next to the lake. In the spring and summer the fishing is probably spectacular.

We spent the weekend for our anniversary. Had a great time at the nice peaceful setting. We fished, enjoyed the outdoors, enjoyed the surrounding areas. We also ate at Willow Pond which was recommended and it was the best catfish I've ever had!! Overall a great weekend just wish we had more time. And the driveway is kinds fun !

We so enjoyed our stay at this location. It is located in a great area. The wooded grounds, fire pit, dock and outdoor lighting was beautiful. Cabin was very cozy with everything you needed. Thank you for a great visit. (Husband recommends a new grill).

We had a great time. We lucked out and the weather was in the mid 70s/low 80s for our two nights in late June, so we spent the majority of our time out on the big deck. The interior was perfect for our group of four adults. It kind of felt like being on a space ship going up that driveway. LOL

The Mrs and I stayed with our children and dog! The dog was in heaven with all the room to run, the rest of us are pretty much now professional fisherman since we slayed all the fish, everything from sunfish to crappie and catfish! The property is in a perfect location for silence and to be with the family for that much needed bonding time. Now on to the drive way I read so much about, the first time we approached the drive way we took a deep breath and held on however it’s really not that bad, but a suggestion would get a trail cam and aim it right at the start of the steep part and catch the faces that are made on the first time going down!!!!! Overall we had a blast and wish we could’ve stayed longer.

The house is in a beautiful location at the back of a quiet cove. The property is very private. The house is clean and in great shape. The owner was up front about some renovation that is almost completed on the upstairs bathroom which posed no issues for us. The driveway is steep as advertised but it was easy to navigate. Highly recommend this property and would love to return in the summer.

Lucky lake house
Steep driveway but worth Boeing closer to the lake. Loved everything about it and enjoyed boating on the lake. People in the are are very friendly and the experience was fantastic

I think this is a really cool place. I loved the nature setting. No shortage of deer sitings for sure. It is a sloped property with lots of stairs though. There isnt a main floor entry for anyone that can’t climb stairs so be advised.

We enjoyed having the space to be with family. It was a good location with good fishing. I do wish the home would have been in better repair-a good amount of shower mold in upstairs shower as well as heavy leaking onto floor, stove handle missing, lot of dirt behind plexiglas wall cover at kitchen sink, bathroom floors with leftover hair from last renters, floors and floor vents very dirty, musty air in house, and outside furniture molded and dirty.

Lucky Lake House
Everything was as it should be for a vacation, no problems at all so very quiet and private absolutely relaxing. our host was great to deal with and makes sure your visit is a happy one. If i can get time off next summer we will return. Being able to have out dog stay with us is very important he had a blast.

And morning walks down to the private boat dock were so peaceful - just know you will be having a calf workout with each trip down and back from the dock - lol. We were able to rent a boat for a day and a half and fully make use of the private dock!

We arrived late due to my son's baseball tournament and I will say that the driveway was a surprise, but we have encountered driveways such as Pamela's before. If you inch it down you will be fine. I have a BMW that sits very low and I didn't scrape anything, my husband, who is a bit impatient, did hit his bumper a bit. I think we would have done better if we had arrived in daylight because we had no issues for the rest of the week.
The house is very nice and has everything you can think of, so we packed really light (literally one suitcase for two people and small bags for each of the kids). Pamela informed me ahead of time that the house sleeps 8 but it might be tight, we had no problems whatsoever.
We seem to have come just at the right time because we were the only people on the cove and it was so quiet. We had a buck walk right up to us, we saw tons of wildlife (even armadillos, and I had no clue they had them in KY). There is a corner store not far from the house, but there are stores in Eddyville and a Walmart in Princeton. The lake was beautiful and warm like bathwater, I could have floated there looking at the trees and wildlife all day long. The boat and kayaks were awesome. I understand that some people experience things differently and have different expectations, we on the other side are really adaptable and I enjoyed the long walkway to the lake and the outdoor shower was amazing. The only thing I would have liked is a ladder into the lake, but that is me, who is not very sporty if you get what I mean.
We loved our stay so much, that we are contemplating coming back in the fall. Thank you to Pamela for opening her house to us.
