The accommodations at Birdsong were spacious, comfortable & exceptionally clean! We were greeted by our hosts Kathleen & Dean, who gave us a tour & showed us everything we needed to know to make our stay as smooth as possible. We had delicious scones, wine, & beautiful flowers upon our arrival - we enjoyed the outdoor patio with the humming birds & lovely flowering landscape. Beach chairs , towels, umbrella & beach pass were available for us to use during our stay - there were lots of great restaurants nearby. Kathleen & Dean responded quickly to any questions we had throughout our weekend. It was so quiet & relaxing. We are looking forward to staying at Birdsong again soon! Trish & Bill

Everything great - well-stocked and lovely yard and gardens. Mattress a bit too firm for us. Our only semi-complaint.

We were lucky to find this property last minute when our other rental with a competing company fell through due to cleanliness issues. The hosts were fantastic and welcoming. Spotless rental, you could eat off of the floors! Absolutely everything one needs for a comfortable stay was provided. Fully stocked kitchen, huge washer/dryer and great AC. The location is fabulous. Quiet, quaint and filled with the most lovely sounds of birds. We travel to Connecticut frequently to visit family and we will only be booking here going forward.

A few qualifications about us might help the effectiveness of this review. We are very experienced with VRBO rentals (20+ years) .We’re birders & foodies. We always cook & eat at least 2 meals in our rentals every day, so a good kitchen and proximity to wild lands are very important to us. The property is an annex 'in-law apt.' on the owner's main house. The home is deep in a wooded tract and there is considerable privacy. Business dealings with the owner were straightforward and transparent. They are hands-on owners, but in no-way intrusive. There are some ropes to know regarding recycled wastebins and the owner's arrival tour was very clear and straightforward. The owners were very generous with perks like banana bread and wine . The kitchen layout is logical and efficient, and everything works. We found everything we needed and it was well-stocked with basics. There is an attractive patio with an outdoor table from which we saw many species of birds including a nesting family of chickadees. We heard barred owls at night. There is a water feature and the owner keeps bird-feeders stocked. The bed is very comfortable and the entire house is very clean The bathroom deserves special note. It is extremely spacious and airy, and there is a beautiful tiled walk-in shower. This is a pricey rental but we felt that we got more than our money's worth. Highly Recommended.
