Our family of five (3 adolescent boys) had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home on the lake. The house is incredibly well stocked with anything you could need and is exceptionally well organized. It is very comfortable with space to spread out and enjoy the views of the lake. Denise and Pete are thoughtful and attentive hosts and readily available for any questions.

Great house. Clean. Hosts very accommodating. We were there in the dog days of the summer with lots of rain. Didn’t cool off at night either. No air conditioning in the home. And because of the rain and bugs, we needed to keep the windows closed. If you are ok without air conditioning on hot summer days and nights, this is a great house.

Denise and Pete were amazing and the property was something out of a fairytale book. My family thoroughly enjoyed all the property had to offer and will always hold a very special place in our hearts as our daughter and future son-in-law got engaged by the shoreline.

My group could not have been happier with our stay. Denise and Pete are excellent and truly thoughtful hosts. The house and property are even better than described and extremely comfortable. We were all so sad to leave and can't wait until we can return.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hmm on e. We had everything we needed and more. Nice quiet and serve area right on the lake. Would love to try to rest in the summer!

This lake side property is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. House is very spacious, clean and beautiful. Has all the amenities and supplies you may need during you stay. Denise was easy to communicate with and has been in touch with us all through the stay. It is in a remote location, so have to drive a bit to get to the restaurants and shops. Will definitely stay here again!

What a beautiful spot! As we pulled into the driveway, the first thing we noticed was the spectacular view of the lake and the mountains. Then our gracious and thoughtful hosts, Denise and Pete, gave us a much-appreciated tour of their gorgeous lakeside home. The house was perfect for us (four adults and a child). It was quite spacious and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed views of the lake from nearly every room. To say the kitchen was fully equipped is an understatement; the chef in our group found everything he needed. It was delightful to be only a short walk to the lake, where we swam, launched our kayaks, and made s’mores in the firepit on the beach. For some of us, simply relaxing on the covered patio and enjoying the magnificent view was a highlight of our stay. After one rainy afternoon, we were rewarded with a double rainbow! We did leave the house to explore the many nature trails in the area, climb Jay Peak in the Green Mountains, tour the Burlington waterfront, and of course, search for the biggest and best creemees. But after these excursions, we always looked forward to returning to this beautiful, welcoming home on the lake.

We love to explore our great State of Vermont for a week every summer. This location was brand new to us and we loved it! What a gorgeous spot with a panoramic view right on Lake Champlain! Wow! The listing captures and says it all. Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 older teenagers, enjoyed our family time on the water and in this vacation home.
We appreciated the incredible warm welcome and tour from Denise and Pete, the consummate hosts. They were responsive and really just had all the bases covered for a complete vacation home. We could tell a lot of great meals have been served in that kitchen, as every detail was covered. The home is tastefully decorated and laid out. It really felt like we were home!
We enjoyed the amazing view, the private beach for swimming and kayaking, the many birds and sunny weather - and the view of all the weather. My son found a nice reading spot under the shade tree that we all enjoyed together. We loved exploring the area on our bikes and went to a couple Vermont State Parks. So much water everywhere! We really didn't have enough time to see everything, we will have to go back. We kept it simple most days and stayed right at the location doing a lot of reading and relaxing.
We appreciated Denise and Pete sharing their beautiful lake home with us! Thank you!!

A beautiful waterfront home!
We had the best week, so very comfortable! The house is spacious, very clean, well maintained, a beautiful home. Everything you can think of is provided! Small cooking appliances, spices, oils, all you need to prepare a meal! My daughter was looking for a juicer one day and I told her to look around. I was certain it would be found, and voila, it was! We met the owners on arrival, a delightful couple, very welcoming, we were delighted they shared their home with us. The thing that might be considered a negative is the isolated location. If you are looking for lots to do in the area you might be appointed, we were fine with it. We swam, played many outdoor sports and games(the lakeside grass area is huge), rented kayaks, played golf, our days were full! As the owners indicated, the mosquitos come out in droves after the sun goes down, so get the fire pit(wood provided) started early! I would highly recommend this rental, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Denise and Pete!

Summer Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Denise and Pete’s lake house. They did everything they could to make our stay easy and enjoyable, the property was well maintained and very spacious for our family which included four adults and two children. A wonderful location if you are looking for a “turn key” experience in Northern VT!

A beautiful, comfortable family getaway with stunning lakefront views
I stumbled upon this listing while researching many others in the Lake Champlain (VT side) area, and I have to say this was like finding a diamond in the rough. It all starts with the owners and property managers, Denise and Pete Cooper. Simply wonderful human beings who are clearly dedicated to blessing others with a wonderful time away in their home. Their home is very well stocked, clean, comfortable, everything you could want in a vacation rental. I also have to mention that they were quickly responsive to any questions or issues we had (and this, while away for an important event in their family too!). No matter, they responded right away to any needs we had. And while the house as I said is beautiful and comfortable, the view they have of the Lake is... simply stunning. We took our family of six up there for a week (4 young adult and teenage kids) and honestly, we might have gotten the most pleasure just from relaxing in front of that gorgeous lake view each morning and evening. To wake up, relax, have coffee or whatever in front of their panoramic vista of Lake Champlain was the rarest of treats for us. Their spot on the lakefront is private, beautifully kept and a pure tonic for the soul. Check out their notes on their listing page, they offer a wealth of great suggestions for activities to do in the surrounding area, and a beautiful region it is. We enjoyed hiking, kayaking, swimming (more the kids than us, honestly!), spending time in Burlington, a cruise on Lake Champlain, fishing, touring the small islands in the northern lake, and best of all, those long, leisurely mornings and evenings just looking out over the water from their patio. If you are looking for a relaxed and beautiful lakefront home to spend quality time with family and make some awesome memories, this is the place. We absolutely loved every minute of it. Denise and Pete are superb and gracious hosts. We thank them for blessing us with this amazing opportunity to enjoy northern VT and Lake Champlain. Don't sleep on this rental, it's absolutely a hidden gem!!

This was the best vacation rental we have stayed in using VRBO! We had an absolutely amazing time. Pete and Denise are among the nicest people we have ever “dealt” with. They were extremely responsive to all of my questions. Their house is gorgeous and spacious. The private beach is beautiful (though rocky like the other places we have stayed on Lake Champlain), the water was extremely clear and warm! The house was extremely clean and well maintained. We are so appreciative to Pete and Denise for ensuring our stay was amazing! We can’t wait to come back next year!!!!

We had a wonderful time on Lake Champlain. Denise and Pete were so gracious in checking us in. We had some nice hot weather in August, so we beat the heat by swimming in the Lake every day and renting a canoe and kayak to get out on the water. We also loved the Alburgh Recreational Trail about a half mile away - the retired rail bed takes you through forests, fields, and wetlands- beautiful. The Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge has some great hiking trails and the wildflowers were all in bloom. On a rainy day, ECHO in Burlington is fantastic for kids - staff patiently taught my 6-year-old and 4-year-old how to code tiny robots to complete a maze. We got to see 400 million year old fossils on a hike in Goodsell Ridge Preserve. For a sandy beach experience, head to Alburgh Dunes State Park.

This was our first trip to Lake Champlain, Vermont and using VRBO. Let me start with the house. It was spectacular! The pictures on VRBO were great but the house was even more beautiful when we arrived. Denise and Pete’s home is immaculate and is situated right on Lake Champlain with views that were unbelievable! Best spot on the lake! The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed and some! There was so much room for me, my Husband, Niece and Nephew and their 3 year old son. We hung out every night in the bar area/family room. Rooms are big and clean, clean, clean! The beach was set up for us with chairs and a fire pit which we used almost every night. The front and backyard are so big and was great for us and our 3 year old to run around. The first day there, we sat at the beach, went swimming, caught fish, made a fire, saw a rainbow, watched an eagle catch a fish from the lake right in front of us! That was only the first day! During the week we watched an evening thunderstorm from their awesome sun room, then the rainbow came. So beautiful! We could not think of anything that would make our stay better. We had the best ice cream from Devyns which was only 5 minutes away. Any food shopping and liquor store was a short ride into Swanton which was about 10 minutes away and Burlington is only about 45 minutes from the house. Now let me say a few words about the owners Denise and Pete (our new friends). They are the nicest people you could meet and have great sense of humors. They wanted our stay there to be wonderful and did everything they could to make that happen. And they did!! Communication with them started pretty much from the initial booking. They answered all our questions, supplied us with whatever we needed and are just all around great people! They were always available for any questions we had and accommodated all our needs. Thank you Denise and Pete for making our family vacation a great one and for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

We loved our stay at this fantastic property so much last summer that we decided to return again this year. (Please see our July 22, 2020 review.) The home is absolutely immaculate and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. There is a large living room, family room (with a bar!), and sunroom, all with gorgeous views of Lake Champlain. The kitchen is also large with new appliances and is well stocked with quality cookware.
The property includes a large private beach on Lake Champlain. The setting is breathtaking and includes unparalleled views of the lake and mountains. The extremely accommodating and kind owners, Denise and Pete, also provide a fire pit and chairs at the shore (s’mores anyone!) that we used when we weren’t kayaking, fishing or swimming.
As much as we love the home and the six acres of land it sits on are spectacular, what made our two stays there extraordinary are the owners, Denise and Pete. They are incredibly responsive and gracious, and genuinely want their guests to enjoy their stay. We really appreciated their hospitality.
As we said in our first review, it is basically impossible not to enjoy your stay at this home. We feel very lucky to be able to return to this paradise on Lake Champlain and look forward to returning to this home again so that we can make more great memories for our family. Thank you again, Denise and Pete!

This house was an amazing stay for us, plenty of room for us as a family with adult children to spread out and have space to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the lake. It was clean, well cared for, and fully stocked with everything you need. We fished from the bank of the lake and caught an abundance of all varieties of fish. The owners were helpful and available for any need. Loved our vacation at the lake .

Wonderful Stay!
I rented the property for a week with my mother and two daughters (ages 3 & 7) and we had an amazing time. The street is private and quiet, so great for biking! The house is lakefront, with an amazing private beach. I recommend bringing water shoes as the beach is rocky but gorgeous. The house was equipped with everything we needed (we pretty much only brought food and clothes!). Thank you Denise and Pete for making our staycation so comfortable and a forever lasting memory! I highly recommend and will be back!

Phenomenal stay at a gorgeous house on the lake!
Our vacation was an extraordinary one precisely because of the owners, Denise and Peter, and the lovely home that they made available to us. The home itself and what lies outside of the home make the property truly spectacular.
As for the home, we have been renting vacation homes for many years, and it was the most immaculate home we have visited. The house is wonderfully decorated and equipped with any convenience you could possibly need. There is a large living room, large family room (with a bar!), and a large sun room with gorgeous views of the lake. The kitchen is huge with high-end cookware (not the typical mish-mash in some rentals). The bedrooms are very comfortable, and the beds reminded us of those in our own home.
As for outside, the home sits on several acres of property with a beautiful private beach on Lake Champlain. The private beach has chairs, a fire pit, and easy and safe access to the lovely lake. We spent many happy days just hanging out on the beach - including swimming, fishing and kayaking in the surrounding waters. The area is very quiet and peaceful; you really feel like you are getting away from it all. The views are phenomenal- we felt like we could look at the lake and mountains all day. Also, the front and back lawns are enormous and great for kids to run around.
Also, the home is in a great location, and very close to various trails and state parks. It’s also only about 45 minutes from Burlington and about an hour from Montreal.
We cannot conclude this review without commenting about the owners, Denise and Pete, whose graciousness and thoughtfulness are unsurpassed. Before our arrival, they thoughtfully addressed all of our concerns traveling during the pandemic, and offered guidance on everything from where to shop to the type of bait to use in order to catch small-mouth bass. When we arrived, they thought of every detail to ensure that we had incredible stay, including making sure that the house was equipped with anything we could need and answering all of our questions. They were incredibly responsive during our stay and attentive to our needs. We could not be more appreciative of their generosity. We truly felt welcome in their beautiful home.
It is basically impossible not to love this home or your stay there! We are very grateful to have been able to vacation in Denise and Pete’s gorgeous home and are looking forward to having more good memories in it in the future.

Amazing lakefront home!
This amazing and spacious home on Lake Champlain was the perfect place for our family vacation. Denise had excellent communication prior to our arrival, and we were happy to find the home spotless. We were surprised that the home seemed even bigger in person than in the pictures. This home also has everything you need to cook. We are a family who loves to eat, and the kitchen was equipped with everything a gourmet chef, or baker would need. During our stay we made homemade bread, cookies, and even Belgian waffles. The grassy lawn is great for children to play on, and the porch is the perfect spot for morning coffee or afternoon happy hour. This home will NOT disappoint. Thank you to Denise and her husband for sharing their slice of paradise with us. We hope to return in the future.

Beautiful property. Perfect Hosts!
My sisters and I just completed a week long stay at Denise & Peter's beautiful home. The house is depicted perfectly in the pictures with every amenity you might want, including waffle and pancake griddles, every spice imaginable, Keurig coffee maker etc. Available also were rafts for the lake and beach chairs (plus wood for a fire pit along the shore). We were very late coming out of Montreal and the Coopers waited for us so they could show us all the house has to offer. Responsive to our every need. It is very peaceful and a perfect place to wind down. They also provided many, many brochures for activities on the islands and in Vermont. We had a fantastic week. I highly recommend this beautiful property. You won't be disappointed!

Vermont at its best; spectacular property inside and out!
Our family of 4 needed a quick escape from routine. As longtime residents of Vermont we know the beauty of this little state and chose to not travel, opting for a stay-cation lakeside. Denise and Pete's property fit the bill perfectly; it is a gem - located just 45 min from Burlington the home and surroundings exceeded our expectations and the owners are thoughtful, caring individuals who made every step easy.
Booking was quickly accomplished with prompt, considerate communication and willingness for flexibility re: the dates, arrival and departure times to allow us extra hours.
Denise and Pete met us for arrival and provided an introductory tour explaining details and instructions. Written materials are also available for the home and local tourism offerings. They gave contact information for routine and emergency needs and followed up during the week to make sure all was well. A flower bouquet and chilled bottle of wine were left with handwritten note of welcome; lovely little extra touches that mean a lot.
The house is large, open, airy and beautifully finished/decorated to suit the spectacular site. The location at end of road facing primary south provides long and panoramic open views of the lake, mainland Vermont to Mt. Mansfield east, and Lake Champlain Islands to the west. Huge gently sloping lawns lead to an easy access stone beach that can store kayaks and more water toys, and includes a fire pit area. Neighboring homes are distant, quiet.
Inside, huge banks of windows in the common areas on the lakeside walls of the home catch the eye and maximize the lake setting; the sunroom is nothing but extraordinary! A large, beautifully designed kitchen has anything needed and more. Family room and living rooms are warm and comfortable with low tech games, books as well as large interactive TVs. Bedrooms and baths are 5 star hotel equivalent. Fast, reliable internet and superb cell phone reception was much appreciated. All areas are modern, tastefully decorated and white glove clean. The ranch style provides easy access with 2 step entry for any mobility challenged individuals. An outside patio and all house pathways, foundations are landscaped with annual and perennial gardens and potted plants. Solar lighting accents add twinkle and magic.
Inside and out, both this amazing property and its lovely homeowners are beautiful, warm and welcoming. A perfect example of Vermont living at its best. You will not be disappointed.

The most amazing lake front property you won't want to ever leave!
First of all, I'd like to start by thanking Denise and Pete Cooper for their hospitality, generosity, and thoughtfulness. They met us upon our arrival with welcoming smiles and a genuinely warm greeting. Pete was on point with his seemingly prepared(lol) presentation of the things we needed to know about the house and property and everything else to make sure we had a great vacation!
The house itself is immaculate inside and out. Not only is the general layout ideal for groups; there were 7 of us, 6 adults and one teenage boy, but the home is wonderfully furnished and decorated. Denise has an amazing sense of decorating style, a lot of the pieces you'll see are her ideas made by her, including her collection of sea glass creatively used in many vases and such. Everything is in like new condition, with high quality pieces, whether in the living room, kitchen, or HUGE family room/game room/bar. Believe me guys, you will all go home wishing you had a room like this in your house. The bedrooms were roomy, with very comfortable beds, and fully furnished. Both full baths were clean and fully appointed with anything you might need. The kitchen is the heart of this home. With a massive island, plenty of counter space, top notch appliances, and plenty of seating for 10 or more when you count the beautiful dining area. Did I mention the coffee bar? It's a small room right off the kitchen with a large Kuerig machine, water cooler, counter and cabinets, and even a basket rack. We kept all our fresh veggies and fruit on that rack. And every morning, this room was everyone's first pitstop for a fresh hot cup of joe!
The property itself is one of a kind! Several acres of lush flat lawn, with a gentle slope to the water's edge where you'll find 300 feet of sandy and rocky beach. The water is crystal clear and refreshing. There is a a fire pit just a few steps from the water; a perfect place for roasting s'mores, telling old stories, and making wonderful memories.
The bottom line is, our experience with this rental property far surpassed our expectations. We can't wait to go back next summer! Thanks again Pete and Denise!

Family lakehouse vacation
Our family of 5 adults just spent the week at Pete and Denise’s beautiful home. Everything about our stay was wonderful. It started with the reservation process. Denise was very helpful providing lots of information to insure the home would meet our needs.
When we arrived Pete met us and provided a complete tour of the home explaining all aspects of the house. He also provided some great fishing tips. The smallmouth bass fishing is tremendous and easily accessible from their private beach.
The Cooper's provided brochures and an extensive list of recommended activities. We really enjoyed the magnificent views during our hike to the summit of Mt. Mansfield. We also had a great time one day down in Burlington at the Magic Hat Brewery and hanging out on Church Street. The quiet country roads around the home were great for bike riding.
We have rented vacation homes for over 20 years. This home is by far the best we’ve ever experienced. It is extremely clean and well decorated. The views throughout the house of Lake Champlain and the surrounding mountains are amazing. It was the perfect lake house vacation.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to others. Pete and Denise were great hosts and made us feel welcomed and comfortable the entire week.
