This spot was exactly what we needed. With 6 people, sometimes even if a listing says it sleeps 6 there’s not really enough room for everyone to hang out without getting on each others nerves. This listing definitely had enough room for all of us not just to sleep, but also to have room for all of us to spread out the one day that it rained while we were there. The view was amazing and the property was close to everything while being in a quiet area. A well stocked kitchen (the only thing I couldn’t find was a pitcher to use for lemonade - everything else was there!) and a list of all the best places to go on the island made everything a breeze. Thank you for a great week!!

We had a very nice time in Chincoteague over Spring Break and the house was great. We enjoyed being by the water and my kids fished and crabbed off the dock. We could see the wild ponies from the house and dock in the distance. We hope to return again soon. The area the house is located is peaceful and quiet.

While the weather didn't exactly cooperate, we had a super, off-season weekend stay at the townhouse. First, the host is excellent with communication. We had a couple of hiccups and he responded immediately. The kitchen is ideal for cooking-with-a-view. There were just 2 of us, so we can't comment on other beds, but the master king bed slept well...and the view from the top floor balcony is lovely. (So much so, that we bundled up and made sure to have our morning coffee there, even in the cold!) Reliable internet (March Madness!), too. We rented bikes, since the wind wasn't ideal for kayaking, and cruised nearly 50 miles in a couple of days around the island & Assateague. (The townhouse is perfectly located to access the park.) Cannot recommend Rich & Chincoteague Bike Shop enough! Birding, biking, great sleeps & hosts, along with a wonderful kitchen in which to make lump fin crab cakes....who could ask for anything more?!!

We enjoyed our stay in this house very much. The location is beautiful and close enough to everything to be very handy but far enough to feel peacefully isolated. The kitchen was a big part of our stay and made our meals much more enjoyable than most of our meals out. The bar chairs were a little odd feeling and are probably getting past their IKEA lifespans, but the backyard screened in porch, and front-yard table gave us nice options to gather. We also enjoyed sitting on the pier and upstairs balcony. Scott and Beth's recommendations on where to get produce and local seafood were solid, and we agreed with their honest assessment of dining out in Chincoteague. Use the kitchen and local seafood place as much as you can! The master bedroom was beautiful and clean, and the balcony has a view across the street to the pier and bayside marshes, including the lighthouse. Those who are light sensitive might want a mask. There are blackout curtains, but the lighthouse goes all night, of course, and some light pulses around the curtain as the lighthouse turns. The queen bedroom was also very nice with a lovely view out the window. The bunk room would be great for young kids, but is a little less satisfying for an adult. It shares a bathroom with the queen room. We didn't use the loft, but it is up a vertical metal ladder out of the bunk room. I wouldn't have wanted to stumble up and down it in the middle of the night. We made a point of getting up early to watch sunrises, which I highly recommend. On hot August days, the early hours are both less-traveled-by, and cooler. The Assateague Island sunrises were spectacular and just a short drive away. We alternated with sunrises on the pier across the street. Lots of birds to watch, and a beautiful view. The house across the street probably puts food out for the Canadian geese and ducks, because they gather there everyday. Fun to watch them fly in and out at sunrise and sunset. They also slow the traffic down... sometimes to a crawl or stop, as they would take over the road. The weather was very hot and muggy during our stay, so the central AC was very comforting. The front room was a very enjoyable place to sit, look out the windows, and talk with family in the hot afternoons. The backyard grill is a Green Egg that has perhaps seen too many renters misuse it, but it did the job after a little work cleaning it up. Perfect for our small group of four. Overall, we had a great stay and would gladly return!

This is a lovely and comfortable property with lots of amenities including a well equipped kitchen. We loved the view over the marshes to the lighthouse. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. A big thrill was watching a 5:30 am rocket launch from the NASA facility at Wallops Island.
