Located in Belfast, this charming cottage for $230 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Surfside cottage sits just 100 feet from the high tide mark on the shore of Penobscot Bay in Belfast Maine. This is rare along the Maine coast and allows you to experience both the spectacular views of the ocean, and the sounds of the coast. Relax to the sound of the surf, call of the loons and harbor bell. Watch lobster boats and schooners pass by from your chair overlooking the bay. All ocean facing walls have windows. Plenty to do right at the cottage; spend the day on the beach, bring your kayaks and set out right from the beach, spend time with your kids in the field or sit or read a book on the porch, patio or front room. Watch seals and loons from the cottage. All the convenience of downtown Belfast is 5 minutes away, while at the cottage you will feel perched on the edge of the bay. The view from the cottage is breathtaking and ever changing. The beach is steps way and great for exploring, sitting or swimming (in season). The cottage is also centrally located for day trips; 1 hour 15 minutes to Acadia National Park, 25 minutes to Camden, 40 minutes to Rockland, and 5 minutes to Belfast center. This adorable coastal cottage was rebuilt in 2010.

I cannot say enough good about this house. The location is amazing, you are right on the water. You will for sure see herons and loons and probably seals, eagles, and ospreys. The water in August was actually not bad for Maine, you can swim right in front of the house. Belfast is maybe 10-15 minutes away and is a charming town, Camden and Rockland are maybe 25-30 minutes down the road.

What a slice of heaven! The cottage itself was so clean and thoughtfully stocked, and the view is unbeatable! We spent hours on the beach at low tide, and saw only a small handful of other people! Plus Belfast is such a cool spot and a great home base to explore from. If you’re at all on the fence- book it. If I could move in I would!!

I fell in love with the pictures onsite but the moment I saw it in real life, I want so happy. When the car stopped and i stepped out, the sea air brought back memories of my childhood. All the recommendations we received in a previous email was really helpful for planning our outtings while we were in Belfast. Even the day trips to Acadia National Park and the lighthouses were amazing as per Fran's suggestion. My kids loved it so much that on our day of departure, they wanted to me to rent it again. I think we shall!!

Maybe the best place we have booked through VRBO! This cottage has all you need for a short get-a-way from it all. Belfast is a great little Maine town to stop & explore & the cottage is the icing on the cake. Comfortable digs with all you need & a comfortable bed to end the day. We loved it and easily could have stayed longer!

If you drive too fast, you may miss the turn onto Wonderview. But once you make that turn you will see the most charming site of little cottages hugging the coast. This cottage is in the very center, so it has the best full view of the water. This is a perfect place to enjoy Belfast. So cozy and charming, and the hosts were wonderful to communicate with. I want to come back to this place later this year, as Maine is quite beautiful!

This was a great cottage It was clean and well maintained. Everything was labeled and there were written instructions. The owners, Fran and Ellen, provided great communication and information about the attractions and restaurants in the area. The location of the cottage was perfect. Right on the shores of Penobscot Bay.

Everything about this cottage was just wonderful. Very clean, very peaceful, and very accessible to everything in the Belfast area. Fran was extremely easy to communicate with as well as being very helpful. It truly is a gem!

Fran's house in Belfast was perfect for our 3 day stay in Belfast.
The location was great for day trips to Belfast and Camden Areas.
The views were incredible - we enjoyed walking on the beach area at low tide and the sunsets.
The house was very clean and very nicely decorated.

This is a compact little cottage, but it's so impeccably laid out that it doesn't feel that way. Every design decision in the front of the cottage seems to have been designed with maximizing the views. When you come out of either of the bedrooms in the morning, you're immediately greeted with a gorgeous view of the bay. Everything was neat and tidy, with nice attention to detail, and thoughtfully equipped. Fran was wonderful to communicate with - I'd asked if he had any suggestions to accommodate our family's slightly different scenario, and he gave many great suggestions - we wouldn't have found a couple great areas, and a new favorite restaurant, without Fran! We wouldn't hesitate to visit again - just a real gem of a cottage, with wonderful hosts.

Only disappointment was that the local kayak outfitters stop renting kayaks after Oct 1, and that was such a great experience last year. On gorgeous fall days, the water beckons. It was nice to wake up to see the water so close and we loved being able to have tea and read in the early mornings in the Adirondack chairs on the patio and eat dinner at the picnic table looking out onto the water. It's a small cottage, totally great as a jumping-off point for day trips in the mid-coast and downeast.

Amazing stay on Penobscot Bay
In what was a totally needed change of scenery, Fran and Ellen's cottage was perfect. The location right on the bay was mesmerizing. The cottage is perfectly appointed and comfortable.
The late summer weather was so refreshing. I rented a kayak and had easy access to the water down the path to the beach. Young's Lobster for takeaway was perfect. Belfast is also a neat little seaside village. We would not hesitate to book this property again.

Beautifully Relaxing
Was just what we needed - my daughter and I spent 8 days relaxing, giggling and making memories. The cottage was perfectly decorated, was well stocked with the necessities, clean and tidy. The owners left easily followed instructions for use of the amenities and left plenty of extra towels. Even had some lightbulbs stashed away if you needed them. Will definitely be back!

Best Coastal Getaway
My husband and I considered this lovely home one of our best Maine coastal vacations in 25 years! The owners were wonderful and all our questions were answered promptly. Fran and Ellen were a genuine pleasure to deal with. Loved the beautiful home, steps to the ocean. The house was lovely, fresh, and appeared to be recently updated with everything you need for a getaway. The beds were super comfy, and a place of total relaxation! Kayaked, hiked, and enjoyed Belfast and exploring the region. We hated to leave.
