About this house rental

Situated in Cripple Creek, this lovely house for $321 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Welcome to SilverHouse, high country luxury in Colorado gold country. Located within walking distance from downtown, SilverHouse engages the senses with five individually appointed bedrooms (each with queen bed, private bath and balcony--four upstairs and one downstairs/no balcony); large great room; full kitchen; patio and ample off-street parking. The interior design concept has a European influence using vivid colors, creamy plaster-work, dramatic heights and grand detail to whisk cares away. The great room and kitchen are located downstairs. Flooded with the sunlight that pours in from the windows or glowing under shaded wall sconces, the 6012-square-foot building with 30 foot ceilings in the great room manages to look sleek and welcoming. The home is not handicap accessible, but there is a deck ramp that leads into the house. Comfortable beds & linens are provided and the home is well stocked. The home has cable TV and a full laundry room. Area residents are typically outdoor-oriented and recreational activities include horseback riding, cross-country skiing, golf, tennis, fishing and much more. Nearby Mueller State Park, Pike’s Peak and Pike National Forest are the source of hiking opportunities, ranging from nature walks to back country trekking. A popular wildlife watching area, Mueller State Park is home to elk, black bear, eagles and hawks. With the park’s groves of aspen trees, each season is a delight for photographers and sightseers. For the rugged individual Garden Of The Gods is a 1350-acre geologic formation of jutting and eroded sandstone peaks ideal for hiking, climbing and horseback riding situated in nearby Colorado Springs. Suited more for cross-country than downhill skiing, Pike National Forest is as accessible in winter as summer. Wildlife viewing is a favorite past-time to include the town’s resident donkey herd, distant relatives of the original donkeys used in the Gold Rush days. For the more “soft” adventure enthusiast a myriad of entertainment activities abound in Cripple Creek and the surrounding areas, such as casual and fine dining, city-wide carriage rides, city-wide shuttle, Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, historic museum, low stakes gaming casinos, melodrama theatre, Molly Kathleen Gold Mine, scenic highways and off road routes, shopping, and of course….rest and relaxation in the Rockies!

Great facility- our only complaint was the radiant heat was not turned on before we arrived and it took 24hrs for the house to heat up. we froze night one but once the property manager showed up it was fixed. a heads up about the town would have been nice as there is no where to buy groceries for family meals as they expect people to eat out at casinos.

We came into town to have a memorial for our Mother. We came from all over the U.S. This house was a perfect meeting place for all of us to visit and make valuable memories.

House is beautiful with incredible huge living room that has space and set up for family gathering! We had an excellent family holiday gathering! The bedrooms are set up perfectly for each adult or couple to have their own room and private bathroom! The first floor bedroom and bathroom worked perfectly for elderly family accommodations! We will definitely rent again for a future trip!

I received two different check-in directions so I followed both. Luckily the host took care of the problem that occurred immediately after following one of the directions. Wayne was always quick to respond to all communications. The rental was a former B&B but the refrigerator was a side-by-side model barely big enough for 4-6 people’s food. It was tough fitting what we needed forThanksgiving with10 people. We found a cooler on the porch but it was warped so we couldn’t use it for drinks since the lid fell inside it instead of keeping it closed. The gas stove was amazing but if you wanted to cook anything in the oven longer than the 180 minutes (a turkey!), you had to reset the timer since the oven only worked if the timer was used. The photos of the VRBO make it seem like the dining room is a separate room. The dining room table, china cabinet, and buffet table are in the kitchen area. The dining room table only seats 8 people. There were over 20 items in the pantry that were expired ranging from 2016-21. I took photos of all this food but then decided that it wasn’t my place to inform them that the open boxes of pancake mix, rice, etc or the 3 bottles of syrup were past their expiration dates. There were no kitchen upper cabinets for glasses which placed them in the lower cabinets forcing pans to the bottom of the pantry. Even though you have to search, everything needed to cook & serve for a large group (pans, mixing bowls, serving spoons, etc) is in the kitchen/dining room. The decorations were nice for a B&B but fragile, breakable, and expensive for a rental. Also there was an incredibly large mirror (20x10 feet?)sitting on the ground in the LR behind a velvet rope attached to 2 poles to “rope off” the mirror? It isn’t safe for kids. The LR windows provided great light and views of the town. The LR was the only room other than the bedrooms & kitchen/dining room. The bedrooms had their own key to lock the doors which was nice. The shower in our bathroom was so small that when you turned on the water it sprayed out the door & on you and the floor. There was only one hand towel in all bathrooms but we were there for a week-long stay! The rug in the upstairs hallway didn’t meet the stairs so WHEN you stepped on the hardwood floor in your socks before stepping down in the first step, you slipped on the hardwood floor while stepping down to the first step (dangerous). There were several dead horse flies in each room for some reason.

The house is very spacious. Each bedroom has an attached bath which on its own deserves a 5 star rating! We were very comfortable. I highly recommend Silverhouse. The 4 star rating on location is due to small rv park directly across the street. Honestly it was quiet and not a problem.
