Picked this listing based on reviews and location. We were planning on skiing at Coffee Mills in Wabasha but Mother Nature had other things in store! No snow. We ended up walking at Frontenac state park which was amazing and we saw many Eagles on this trip. The reviews are spot on about this cottage. This cottage has a lot of space to relax. We especially enjoyed the sun hitting our face at sunset while sitting in front porch or relaxing in the chair by the electric fireplace which has a nice heater blowing on you.
The kitchen has unobstructed views of Lake Pepin which was really nice while you’re eating breakfast. This is a cottage for all seasons! Don’t forget to get Papa Tronnios for pizza and walk literally steps to Heidi’s Huggamug for coffee and breakfast or lunch.

We thoroughly enjoyed this clean and tidy home during our 4 day stay in Lake City. The house is very comfortable, inviting and stocked with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the convenience of being able to walk to downtown restaurants. The interior of the house and the exterior are obviously well taken care of.

The cottage was perfect! Our family had a great weekend enjoying the cute town of Lake City and the cottage had the perfect amenities for us to relax and take in the beautiful fall weekend. We will definitely be back!

This is an older cottage with large bedrooms, smaller bathrooms, slope ceilings on your way upstairs, just had to duck a little, but this made this place so quaint! Wonderful patio where you could see the lake and watch the squirrels run around, getting walnuts and bury them.
It is within walking distance of shopping and across the street was Heidi’s Coffee Shop. Excellent coffee and omelets!
We would stay here again when we plan on being in Lake City, Mn.

We had a delightful stay in this cozy cottage. It had everything we needed for a family wedding weekend getaway. It has a nice view of the lake, a very comfy glider, and two nice porches. It is close to Heidi’s Hugamug cafe (highly recommend!).

Relaxing, clean well furnished, good location, expectations spelled out clearly but not burdensome upon departure. Cancelation policy was reasonable and lenient, from my perspective. Would rent again if need arises.

We had a great stay in Lake City! The VRBO is positioned just off Lake Pepin. It is within walking distance of great coffee, restaurants, cute shops. The home is older but well maintained. If you are over 6 feet tall, watch your head when going upstairs. Highly recommend for a family or 2 couples to stay!

What a lovely cottage conveniently located near downtown Lake City, walkable to almost everything. (We even walked to the bowling alley after dinner for a fun game!) The cottage was appointed with a variety of nice antiques and modern pieces. The weather was quite hot outside for our visit and the A/C worked very well. The outside area in the backyard faces Lake Pepin and we loved hanging out there in the evenings. Thanks again to our hosts!

The cottage was even more charming in person than on the photos! Comfortable, very clean and well stocked. There is a huge screen TV in the living area for watching movies/shows in the evening. Nice view of the lake from the kitchen and outside. Outside there is a large, comfortable bench swing that could easily accommodate 3 adults.

This quaint cottage has a beautiful view of Lake Pepin/Mississippi River. Enjoyed watching boats, canoes, barges; birds, squirrels, rabbits. It was a great location to relax and enjoy the quiet. We also met the owners when they stopped by to meet us.

We stayed with our three little kids and it met our needs very well! Super cute and charming, and exceptionally clean! Nancy was very helpful and responsive! One thing to mention is that part of its older charm includes some very low ceilings and door frames so if you’re quite tall like my family keep that in mind!

The little red cottage was as cute as advertised! Walking distance to anything you need. Very CLEAN! And plenty of puzzles to choose from. My 4 year old felt very safe and cozy being in the downstairs bedroom with us just outside the door. Very easy access, and would rebook in a heartbeat!

Easy, sums up the whole stay. The views to the lake are wonderful, it’s on a walking trail near the harbor. The house is well appointed and cozy…. But spacious. It so reminded me of the house where I grew up. We will return.

This was our 3rd year staying at 'The Red House' as our kids affectionately call it. It is always immaculately clean. We love the backyard looking on the lake (the empty lot behind it makes that possible). And the one-block-walk to the beach is so convenient!

Nancy’s cottage was perfect for our weekend in Lake City. It had a beautiful view of the lake from the backyard and was with in walking distance if everything we needed. We were even able to host a small family gathering in the backyard. Thanks

3 nights, 2 couples. Everything couldn't have been any smoother. Very cozy and welcoming. We felt at home right away. For us the attraction was the surrounding golf courses. Fun courses and challenging for all levels.
Walking distance to just anything you needed. Morning coffee a block away, bonus😊 .
Then the view. Just peaceful. Set back away from walking path so we were very much unnoticed. But full view of the river.
Neighbors were very pleasant.
Just a win, win for us. It will definitely be in our minds for next summer

Fun Lake Getaway
We had an amazing time! The property is great…we had a campfire in the fire pit with a perfect view of Lake Pepin! Plenty of room for our family of 4…the property is immaculately clean and well kept…we would highly recommend it!

Short getaway from the city. The house is very cute and very clean. The view from the backyard is amazing. We ate at Kelly’s Restaurant and the food was delicious. We left at 11am, parked by the beach and enjoyed the park then went back to the city.
