Located in Custer, this attractive house for $249 per night is a great option for your next trip. Our spacious Lodge at Ponderosa Place sleeps up to 10 comfortably. NO PETS, NO EVENTS, NO FAMILY REUNIONS, NO WEDDINGS FIRST FLOOR Open Floor Plan | Kitchen | Dining | Laundry Room | Private Front Porch | 2 Bedrooms (1 King, 1 queen) | Full Bathroom | Living Room | Fireplace SECOND FLOOR 2 Bedrooms (both queens) | 2 Sleeping Nooks (1 full bed, 1 queen futon) | Full Bathroom * No Steps from the Private Front Porch into Main Floor | No Steps on the Main Floor The Lodge House has 4 bedrooms with 5 beds total along with a futon. Well equipped kitchen with simple stocked pantry. Farmhouse table with plenty of seating and bar stool seats around the kitchen island. Living room has flat screen a TV with cable, glorious fireplace, antique desk workspace, and room to play. Both bathrooms have walk in showers and two sinks each. Washer and dryer located on main floor. Central heat and AC! All linens and towels are provided along with basic soaps. Outside Space Cool off in the shared back yard with gentle log swing and seating area all under our huge willow tree. Stretch your legs and let the kids burn some off energy in the huge shared front yard or at the swing set while you relax by one of the firepits. Location, Location, Location! Located just a few blocks off the main street in Custer. You can walk to the grocery store along with shopping and restaurants! With family living nearby, cabin was in a good location that allowed for easy in and out throughout our stay. We do hope it works out to stay in future trips to visit family.

The Lodge was everything we hoped for. Plenty of room for our family, great views, and conveniently located close to town. Preparing S'mores at the fire pit was a hit for the kids. We also enjoyed the playground nearby, the bike path, and hiking trail up Custer mountain. Definitely a great place to have a family gathering and enjoy all of the activities available at Custer State Park.

The accommodations were terrific. The location near the store and the trail can't be beat. The kitchen cooking area is fairly small, but adequate (appeared to me to be bigger in the photo - damn old eyes ;<} ) We would all gladly return to the Lodge at Ponderosa Place. Lots of creeks in the floor which adds to the mystique of the place. No place is perfect so, if your looking for a convenient place, nice clean accommodations, and warm showers (plenty of hot water) - THIS IS THE PLACE. We enjoyed it - hope you do, too!

We were very impressed. The kitchen was well equipped for making meals - you bring the food, of course. The downstairs had central AC but the upstairs was a little warm at night. There was a portable AC unit for one room and some fans but might be a little uncomfortable on hot days/nights. The temps were pretty mild during our stay. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We stayed at the Custer house for the beginning portion of our West adventure. It was exactly what we were looking for - close to the attractions we were interested in (Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills, Crazy Horse Memorial). It is in easy walking distance to downtown Custer and we enjoyed walking to dinner. The house was clean and easily accommodated our crew of 9. Highly recommend!

Very clean home! Large front yard for kids to play! We were on the run most of the day, it was nice to come home and relax on the front porch! Very quiet neighborhood, 2 blocks to downtown and saw deer each evening. Communication was easy and we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Ponderosa place while riding the Mickelson trail. It was convenient to the trail and to town. The lodge was lovely, had everything we needed and was a great place to hang out at the end of our day

This home was the perfect place for our family to unwind after a long day of hiking trails and exploring towns. The host was very kind and was happy to offer any help if we needed. Though there are other units close by on the property, there was plenty of room and it was quiet an peaceful. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful property. Very responsive and friendly owner. Nicely appointed - initial coffee, bottled water, shampoo, etc. Very comfortable. Super clean. Quiet area but convenient to all the touristy places. Good parking. Lots of board games, comfy chairs, good beds, a few snacks provided. Very welcoming. Highly recommend!

The Lodge is in my top 3 places to stay. It was perfect. Plenty of bedrooms, kitchen had everything we needed. The location was exceptional. We arrived and had dinner on the front porch and then drove to Mt Rushmore for the evening show-an easy 30 minute drive.
My only regret is we aren’t staying longer. There is so much to do.
We brought our food which made it very pleasant-not having to wait for seating at a restaurant- most don’t take reservations.
We didn’t use it, but there was a fire pit as well of lots of area for kids to run!

We came from Omaha Nebraska with a group of 9… 5 were children under five there was so much room perfect amount of separation between our family and my friends family huge dining area lots of games anything you can need. Owner replied to every question within minutes and we loved our trip! Thank you so much

This was the perfect set up for our 2 families to share together. The kids had space to play, and we could talk or watch movies after they went to bed. Plenty of room to eat and good kitchen supplies. It was SO CLEAN! The only surprise was the cabins that were sharing the property. We were blessed with quiet neighbors, but having a big/loud crowd next door would have definitely been a drawback for our experience.

Prime Black Hills location
We really enjoyed our stay at Ponderosa Pines. It was a cozy and comfortable lodge with plenty of space for our mini family reunion of 9 people. The grocery store and restaurants were within walking distance and we took many easy day trips to see all of the sights the Black Hills has to offer.
