Nestled in Kalaepohaku, this charming condo for $318 per night is a great choice for your next break. Beachfront condo #410 is a 2 bed/2 bath corner unit in building 10, on the southern edge of the property. Corner units in end buildings like this mean, extra windows with a more expansive ocean view & extra light. In this case it also means an extra-large lanai that faces both west & south. Breakfast on the lanai and enjoy an extra bit of local culture when single & double outriggers launch from the adjacent canoe club for practice paddles and a colorful regatta of local races. Pick up fresh local food to prep in the full kitchen, finish on the gas grills, then dine on the lanai. In winter the whales put on a show for free, but all year round the sunrises & sunsets (also free) will stun you. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. A king bed in the master bedroom, and in the second bedroom 2 twin beds. There is central A/C. Tile flooring, flat screen TV with complimentary cable, WiFi, local phone. Central AC, ceiling fans, in-unit washer/dryer. The resort itself is a real gem. Nestled into a quiet and safe community, the vibe here is one of low-key local that lets you know you are in an authentic place, not some theme-resort. Centrally located in North Kihei, Kihei Beach Resort is a favorite of return travelers.1 vehicle per unit free parking. From here you can venture forth with low commute times (15-45 minutes) to enjoy most of the awesome adventures and attractions Maui has to offer. Two long & winding roads - one to the summit of Haleakala & the other through the rainforest heading to eastside Hana. These are longer treks to places remote, but places not to be missed if one can help it. On days you want to stay close to base, stroll the (almost empty) 3 mile stretch of white-sand shoreline north to Ma’alaea. The resort’s 1.3-acre grounds tempt you to stay and relax by the pool, sunbathe on the beach or claim a lounge chair under a palm tree and read a book. From the grounds & pool you have panoramic, nothing peek-a-boo-about-them coastline views that extend south to the Makena cinder cone, sweep out across the water past Molokini Crater, neighbor islands Kahoolawe & Lanai, then north to Maalaea Bay with its backdrop of stark white windmills marching up the sharp ridges of the West Maui Mountains. During high season (Dec-April) humpback whales (mamas, babies, and guardian males) find shelter in Maalaea Bay; the sight of them breaching is always thrilling. All year round you will savor spectacular sunrises and sunsets by day, and star-studded skies and silvery moonbeams glittering on the Pacific by night. It’s fun that Kihei Canoe Club is next door to the resort. Watching the canoes during practices or races is a cool diversion few resorts can offer. On Tuesdays & Thursdays the club offers visitors an opportunity to paddle out with them ($40 donation), so worth it! Across the street is a quaint collection of local treasures: a farmer’s market featuring local fruits & veggies, Ululani's Shave Ice Store, Sugar Beach Bake Shop & an ABC convenience store. You will find yourself there more often than you think, it’s one of those spots! And just down the road a bit toward Kihei, you will notice a most charming church painted 'plantation green' with white trim & exuding the Aloha spirit. Keolahou Hawaiian Congregational Church holds services in English & Hawaiian on Sunday mornings, open to all; on Thursday evenings they host 808 Uke Jam, a gathering of ukulele enthusiasts of all different levels who play, sing, learn & share aloha; it is free & open to the public. We really enjoyed staying at this property. We heard the ocean all day, was right next to the canoe club and watched the canoes go out every morning, beach every day, Ululani's shaved ice and ABC Store across the street. Property staff were super responsive and friendly. We will definitely come back!

Our family of four stayed here the last five nights of our trip. Clean and comfortable unit with great views. Check-in went smoothly. The location is very convenient for day trips. We walked across the street for shave ice and to pick up groceries several times during our stay. The area is less fancy than Wailea but a great value for the money. We would stay here again for sure.

This was a great rental in an amazing location. The view from the windows and balcony were awesome. There are a great bakery and shaved ice place right across the street. The rental is dated, and the kitchen could really use an update. The location and views made up for the older areas and the bathrooms were updated recently and nice. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We had a really great stay. The property manager replied to my texts right away when the water stopped working for a couple of hours in the kitchen. The view from the balcony was amazing. The bed was comfortable. The pool gets the perfect amount of sun so that it's not too cold while swimming. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location, shave ice and farm stand across the street. Great for kids and short distance to drive for restaurants, shopping, etc. 10 min drive to the marina for the Molokini snorkeling tour, try SNUBA it’s awesome! Overall a really nice place and super convenient for family.

Great location. Not as down Kihei like many of the resorts. So the beach was not crowded and lots of local activity. Easy to reach all the destinations we wanted to see from this location! Loved having the balcony face the ocean for those great morning views and easy access for the kids to swim! Able to walk for coffee and breakfast morning. The unit was clean, nice breeze and all supplies that I needed were provided. Would love to stay here again!

Our family of 4 stayed just over 2 weeks. I’m fact we loved it so much we extended our stay! The sound of the ocean right outside your door was amazing. Excellent location close to everything. Kitchen was very well stocked. Beds were comfortable. The only thing that would have been nice is more seating in living room and another TV in the unit. Maybe in master bedroom. Property management company was good at getting back to us quickly with any questions or concerns we had. Highly recommend! Excellent value for money. We will be back for sure.

The condo had everything we needed. The complex was under renovations, which we didn't know when we booked, but wasn't a big deal. The beach and pool were great, and were nearly empty the entire week we were there. Great location. Quick drive to airport, Lahaina, and Wailea. Would definitely like to cone again.

Our KBR stay was wonderful!
Pros:
Immaculate property grounds. Pool clean and pool deck clean. Nice showers to rinse off from the beach. Unit 410’s view was spectacular. Ate meals on the lanai. Washer/dryer in the unit. A/C was cool and comfortable. Ceiling fans worked well. Very nice updated bathrooms. Fully stocked kitchen. Beach towels and bath towels provided. Beach chairs provided but not used by us. ABC store across the street is more like a convenience store and was easy to walk to for drinks and snacks and sunscreen and toothpaste and deodorant.
Cons: no ice maker but we had no problem freezing water in ice trays so not really a con for us. Sink faucet difficult to turn and was not attached well to sink.
Overall a fabulous stay and we would highly recommend staying there!

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at this property. It is very well located, right across the street from an ABC store, the farmers market, Ululanis and the Sugar Beach bakeshop. The beach (Sugar) in front of the building has miles of walkable sand and good swimming. It was also fun to watch the canoe club out on the water first thing every morning. The pool was heated and a comfortable temperature. The elevator was also in service, even though at the time of our booking they said it may not be. Amazing unobstructed views from the lanai. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and the air conditioner and ceiling fans kept us very comfortable. Even had in suite laundry. This unit is centrally located for all you island adventures and only 20 mins from the airport!

LOCATION:
+Being in north Kihei, we were only 5-7 minutes from the south side of Kihei, and maybe 15 minutes down to Wailea
+Being on the north side also shortened our drives to Lahaina (25-30 mins) and further north. It was also a short distance to get on the highway to head back over to the area by Walmart, Target etc. (That was about 15 mins).
COMPLEX/GROUNDS:
+the lawn looking out from the beach is like a golf course green...very soft and manicured and the lounge chairs out there were never full. Not a lot of shade for that area because it's only the tall palms. But with the breeze, it was perfect to lounge in the mornings and evenings.
+/- pool was on the small side but it was never busy. very clean.
+the beach out front is definitely walkable and soft, water isn't very clear so we didn't really swim, only waded out.
+there is one elevator but it is centrally located and was only a 20 second walk to the front door of the unit. Was not busy and only had to "wait" a couple of times.
+prompt communication with management.
+/- always found a parking space but the spots are small (which is the case all over Maui) We rented a small Nissan and it was a squeeze. A large SUV may have issues here and most places on the island.
OVERALL:
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. So much easier coming and going than traipsing through a large resort. This felt very private and we highly recommend unit 410 at Kihei Beach Resort!

What can I say....this couldn't have been more perfect! When we vacation, we need as much ocean as possible. This location fit the bill perfectly. We spent every morning on the lanai with coffee and pastries from the bakery across the street. We watched the magnificent whales starting their day in the ocean. We loved seeing the canoe team taking off next door. I think we may have even seen a sea turtle in the surf one morning. We ended every evening with a drink on the lanai watching the stars and listening to the surf. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning was just right, the kitchen had what we needed. The resort itself was clean, tidy, and quiet. One issue were some ants in the kitchen, but I notified the front desk and they had it handled that same day and we did not see any more ants. We were not familiar with Kihei so did not know how spread out the island was. We spent a lot of time in Lahaina which was a 30 minute drive away. Despite that, there was plenty available in Kihei and I think we would stay there again rather than in the popular resort area which was more crowded. I would recommend this room to anyone who is like our family and needs the ocean in close proximity. Also, we named the local rooster Charles. So if you stay there next, say Hello to Charles for us!

This condo was absolutely perfect for our family of 4. Fabulous views right on the ocean in a very locals area, which we like better as we don't like to stay where all of the tourists stay. A great farmers market, bakery and shaved ice place, and ABC store right across the street. And it was fun to watch the canoe boats racing in the morning. Having a washing machine & dryer was also really helpful and management was great and very informative. I would definitely stay here again!

This unit is on the 4th floor of my favorite complex, Kihei Beach Resort. It is a corner unit, so you get a bonus view down the beach to the south. This complex is smaller than most, about 50 units so it’s not crowded around the pool or BBQ area. It is as close to the beach as you can get! There is an ABC store, small bakery, Shaved Ice and trinket store right across the street.
