We absolutely loved our stay here! The house was clean, comfortable, and close to the beach and inter coastal waterway. The outdoor shower was wonderful. We will be back again!

If you’re like us when you go to the beach you just want a spot to sleep at night and spend the rest of your time on the beach. This place is a great place for just that. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but it’s clean and comfortable. They outside shower is nice as well. Stocked with essentials and washer/dryer there as well. If you like keeping things simple then this is a good place. Would definitely go back!

Again the cottage was amazing and my son and I had so much fun ! The Wrights are so welcoming and you definitely will enjoy the yard for your dog , outside patio with privacy fence and the outdoor shower was awesome 😎 Thank you again and we will be back !

We enjoyed our stay at Tranquil Harbor immensely! It was the perfect place to rest our heads in the evening after long days spent on the beach!

Location was great - very central, convenient to (all) shopping and the beach. But the neighborhood was very quiet, low (local only) traffic. Lots of off-street parking. Privancy-fenced backyard. Lots of extras provided (poop bags for dogs, candles, grill supplies, etc.). We did not use the outdoor shower or grill, so cannot comment. Otherwise house was good for a vacation rental, but would benefit from good overall deep cleaning.

It was a great house to stay with three of us and the dog. The dog loved the yard and the side yard for us to sit and enjoy.

Was there during a storm and stayed dry. Tip: use the outdoor shower.... its heaven! Great pressure, shaded, roomy, private, and was perfect after a long day fishing and after a beach day out. Owner is great! Personally called the next day after booking to give me some information on my comments. Easy to chat with and fun! Will stay again.

Fantastic place to stay , private and quiet . The Wrights were amazing hosts and def will spread the word about their VRBO! My family loved everything and as a RN that needed a much needed break from this pandemic , I walked away relaxed and did not want to go home !

Tranquil Harbour was exactly as described online, so we were very happy with it. My favorite amenities were: the convenience of having a washer/dryer, a very comfortable couch, and the outdoor shower (I absolutely loved it!). The beach is only a few blocks away, along with many businesses. The air conditioning did not work very well when we arrived, but the owner was totally available to help us. He provided a portable air conditioner for us until the central AC was repaired properly. 😊�

Nice beach apt in a quiet neighborhood setting. Easy walk to beach, grocery store, restaurants. Kitchen, outdoor & indoor shower, private covered outside patio for good relaxation, grilling, etc, fenced yard with great shade from trees. Very private.

great little duplex with a privately fenced yard so you are not sharing yard space with the other side. just a few blocks from the food lion, beach, bars and restaurants on the intercoastal waterway side. we golf carted everywhere. duplex is very clean and the owners were very nice. We would stay here again.

The location is awesome and the house is pretty nice. The town is very dog friendly and so is the house. The only thing is the website didn’t make it that clear that your only renting half a house. The house is very sound; I never hear the other people.

We loved the area and the cottage was clean and comfortable. We were centrally located to make day trips and explore neighboring sites and beaches. The cottage was quiet and had everything we needed It was a beautiful week and was just what the doctor ordered.We loved the fenced yard for our little friend and spent evenings enjoying the private patio and grill. Great Place!!

Such a great visit to OKI! This home was perfect for us- we loved bringing our pups with us. Very private patio area and close to the beach, a little too far to walk but very short drive. Wi-fi worked great, plenty of hot water and A/C was nice and cool. We will certainly be looking to rent from the Wright family again, highly recommended!

Loved our stay here! We have been to Oak Island several times but never have gotten to take our dogs. This place was perfect for pups. Loved the patio and yard. The outdoor shower with a hose was a bonus for cleaning everyone up after trips to the beach. The house was perfect. I loved that it wasn't super beach looking. The couch was the most comfy couch in the world! the kitchen is small but had everything we needed. We cooked several meals including crab legs, shrimp, and omelets. The grill was perfect for grilling shrimp from Haag and Sons. Loved how walkable everything was, even In the heat. We got to try the new restaurant Tranquil Harbour which has the best crab dip ever. Also discovered a public boat ramp close by. Next time we will bring the boat! We loved being away from the ocean front houses. It was quiet and more isolated. You felt like a local. Bonus: less firework noise for the 4th! Thanks for letting us stay!

Great location with short walk/bike to beach, restaurants, stores ,etc. Nice quiet laid back neighborhood with fence for the dog. No problems at all. Would heartedly recommend to any for a nice beach vaca.

Perfect for a family of 4 & 2 dogs. Fenced in backyard was perfect for our 2 dogs. Clean & cozy. Was a little further from the beach than we thought but had lots of spots to park down by the beach. Only bad thing was the wi-fi was horrible. Was told to unplug and reset and that didn't help any, just sucked we weren't able to watch TV before bed. Overall a great place to stay & had lots of fun!!

This is a nice place to stay if you have pets. You can let your pets run freely in the back yard without worrying about them getting in the street. It has a nice outdoor sitting area where your pets can come out with you while you cookout and relax. We brought our bikes and enjoyed riding them around the neighborhood.

Great little house. We stayed a week on Oak Island during the busy season. The house is a short walk to the public beach access, but on a very quiet street. Short walk to restaurants and coffee shops. Highly recommend The Flying Pig coffee shop! The house was very comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The covered outdoor patio was fantastic for eating outside and relaxing in the evening. My only recommendation would be putting an overhead fan on the outdoor patio - would really help with air flow on very hot days since the yard is surrounded by a high privacy fence. Thanks for a great week!

Our week stay in the Charming Beach Cottage was the best of all our trips down to OINC (this was our 4th). The place was lovely, clean, well stocked, the queen size bed was fabulous, the yard was perfect for our dog, location couldn't have been better. The owners couldn't have been nicer to deal with and if a problem arose, it was taken care of immediately. The neighbors are quite and friendly. I highly recommend staying here.
