Very clean. Perfect aloha spirit of the Kauai north shore. Accurately described. We had three couples and plenty of space. Loved the proximity to Tunnels beach since it is hard to find parking there. The tropical garden setting with the back deck that looked over the animal sanctuary was beautiful and fun. The covered outdoor shower and jacuzzi tub were perfect for lounging on a rainy north shore day. Easy drive into Hanalei for some great restaurants. Would definitely stay again :)

We really enjoyed our stay! The kitchen was great, awesome knife set. The beds were comfy. Close to the beaches, great to walk to mornings till evenings. We liked the local vibe, very relaxing and quiet. Loved all the fun animal sightings out back.

This house fit our needs perfectly. Home was very clean and beautifully decorated. We especially loved the outdoor shower and back deck.
Also, there was gear and supplies available for us to use. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate for part of the trip. I guess we'll have to go back :-)!

This wonderful house was the best place we’ve ever stayed on the Islands. The location was awesome; less than a half-mile walk to Tunnels Beach, with the “backyard” abutting a protected nature area so, while sitting on the spacious deck, we could enjoy the diverse bird life and watch cows, donkeys, and horses wander by below.
The house itself was amazingly well-appointed—the owner obviously put a lot of loving care into this living space. The air conditioning—a bonus that very few Island VRBO rentals offer—is the modern split-room type, so you can choose which room you want to cool down. We used it only in the living-room area during the afternoons and the bedroom at night to sleep cool. The kitchen was well-stocked with all necessary cookware and condiments. The house was so comfortable, we ended up cooking our own dinners almost every night, eating on the deck at the outdoor dining table, enjoying the birdsong and the Trade-Wind breezes.
We rarely used the big-screen TV, opting instead for the peace and quiet, the sounds of Nature, and the view out back. The neighbors were, for the most part, quiet and respectful, their dog barking only occasionally, but never at night. The traffic noise from Kuhio Highway was hardly noticeable, thanks to double-pane windows and the house being set well back from the road. Most of all, we hugely appreciated the responsiveness and generosity of both the owner and the local caretaker—genuinely good people who made our stay even more perfect.

Place was everything we had hoped for and more! Loaded with amenities (beach items, kitchen, bathrooms, etc) with special extras like the outdoor shower and bath and huge outdoor balcony for viewing (and petting) of the mules, donkeys, horses, and cows that routinely roamed about. Location proximity to tunnels and Haena state beach afforded nightly epic sunsets shared with only a few others. So close to Hanalei yet so far away, a place to truly melt your troubles away. Thank you Judy and Beaux for making everything so easy from start to finish. If there was an option for six stars this would get it!

We have been to Kauai 6 times now and stayed in the Haena area 4 of the 6 times. This house is our favorite house for all of the reasons people have mentioned. I would highly recommend renting bikes so you can make the short ride to the beach and thus be able to ride if back to the house to eat lunch. Perfect location, plenty of room and the best area on the island if you like to chill.

If you’re looking for a getaway this is it. Remote location at the end of the island, beautiful tunnels Beach across the street and an easy walk. Wild horses chickens and cows in the backyard. But everything you need was in the house. We had a small issue with the air conditioner when we got there and one of the toilets stopped flushing, but the property manager took care of them within the day that I reported it and was very attentive. My family had a fabulous time here and wished we would’ve spent a second week. Hope to be back Someday. Highly recommend if you are truly looking to get away from everything.

My wife and I came to Kauai for our honeymoon 20 years ago and have always wanted to come back. We finally were able to along with our 2 daughters. We loved the house. The back deck is beautiful with the Mountain views. It was a treat to see the cows, horses and donkeys walking by every day. Lots of birds singing all day too. It feels like a tropical oasis. Tunnels beach is about a 10 minute walk. One time we drove the car and unloaded everyone and I came back and rode a bike to the beach. There are 4 bikes. Parking at the beach is not easy. But there is a beach wagon to haul everything to the beach and we walked it that way a few times too. There are a lot of beach accessories available to bring and we appreciated the umbrellas and chairs. Tunnels beach has great snorkeling. The house is also a short drive to Hanalei, which is great for shopping. Last time we came we stayed in a big hotel in Poipu and this is much better. The North Shore beauty can’t be matched.
We did have a few hiccups with the property while we were here, but they were all fixed quickly and communication was great.
We’d definitely come back again if we could.

Judy's house was as advertised. We stayed Feb 2023. The scenery is absolutely beautiful.The home is very private. Five minute walk to Tunnels Beach and five minute drive to the Kalalau Trail Head. We saw donkeys, horses, cows, and of course, chickens in the woods from the back Lani in back of the home. Short drive to Hanalei. Judy was an exceptional host. We visited her home at the end of the Kona Low storm. I had a lot of questions concerning if it was safe to visit during the storm; which it was. Judy answered all of my questions the same day. I highly recommend Judy's home and will definitely be visiting again.

Our family of 5 had the perfect north shore vacation! Tunnels was gorgeous with huge swells some of the days and then snorkel friendly on others. Hana lei is under 15 minutes away for shopping and shave ice. The house was perfect with the master bedroom on one side secluded from the other bedrooms. We shopped at Costco and ate most of our meals at the house in between beach trips. Hope to be back again!

What a great place to stay and the location couldn't have been better. The short walks to Tunnel beach in the evenings & mornings were fabulous. A well stocked kitchen was a must for us as we purchased fish from the local fish market and enjoyed meals together at "home".

Exceeded my expectations. Best part was the master shower outside on the patio deck with views of the mountains. Never showered outside in the jungle. Very liberating and primal. Next best thing was the little extras…Mon bikes, elf shoes, snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, and beach umbrellas. Made our stay so easy and enjoyable. Beau, the property care taker, was so friendly and accommodating. Loved her! Location in the north shore close to Tunnels beach couldn’t have been more perfect for our family.

Our family of four spent 2 weeks in Hawaii (split amongst Kauai and the Big Island). Our only regret is that we didn't stay at this place LAST, because its always best to save the best for last. What an amazing experience - from early morning walks the Dry Cave at Haena Beach with no around but roosters, to sunset watching on the beach right across the road (any easy footpath on the east edge of the YMCA fenceline). Our first night (Sat July 9) after a long day travelling from the mainland, we walked down to Opakapaka Grill and Bar. We were sat right next to the ocean front window. They had a live musician who was great. We did Kayak Hanalei twice - once upstream and then (even better) downstream into Hanalei Bay. Be sure to look for the MANY sea turtles as the river enters the ocean. Thanks for sharing your amazing home.

This is the second time I have stayed here. I love this place. It isn't too expensive, but has all the things you need. It was very comfortable for my husband and me plus our two kiddos who are 8 and 11. I love the back covered porch which looks to the mountains and that it is a very short walk to two different beaches. I also really enjoy the outdoor shower. It feels very tropical and fun.
