Kris picked us up from the airport and gave us a quick run down of the town, Isabel Segunda, on our way to the property. Once there, his wife, Barbra, greeted us with a map and showed us around the property and the little bungalow. Their map was very useful when looking for restaurant ideas and beaches. They were kind and friendly and answered questions (text) promptly. The views from the covered “porch” area are even better in person. Star gazing from the pool was one of my fave nightly activities! The bungalow is well stocked for kitchen needs, the shower was so nice after a hot and exhausting day at the beach. The bed was really comfortable as well, that’s one of the biggest risks I think when renting is the bed, and they sure passed the test with theirs! AC worked like a champ! Curious little lizards come up around the porch area, we seen iguanas in the tree tops being clumsy, that was fun for us! Vieques is definitely one of the most magical places I have ever been, it is worth the trip to get there. This little bungalow was absolutely perfect for my husband and I, we’re grateful to have the memories we do of Vieques and this special property!

My wife and I spent a wonderful week in Vieques. Kris picked us up at the airport in his car, which we rented for the week, which was extremely handy. Communication prior to our arrival was excellent and the check-in process seamless. The casita was perfect for two. Clean, private, well-equipped, with an amazing ocean vista over the green of the island. Kris was available whenever necessary but gave us our complete privacy otherwise. Wonderful property, we'd stay again without hesitation!

The pictures do NOT do it justice. This place is breath taking. Lush, green, nature all around you. Full and total privacy even though they live right on the property. Accessible via golf cart. The house is small but perfect for a short stay. We were there for 7 days. All the things you need for cooking. And we can’t say enough how wonderful Barbara and Kris are. We loved loved our stay and would come back again anytime!

This is a perfect place to stay on Vieques. The cottage is lovely. The pool and pool bar are delightful. Everything you need to enjoy a stay is at hand, from cooking at home to cooling off after a day exploring or at the beach. Hosts Kris and Barbara have thought of everything and are incredibly responsive and helpful. You'll delight in listening for roosters, horses, and birds from your exceptional perch above the preserve overlooking the Caribbean. Truly among the best.

Our first 5 nights in Puerto Rico were on the island of Vieques. We enjoyed our own modern, air conditioned, cottage and even had a pool and pool house adjacent to the cottage. The view over the wildlife refuge to various Caribbean bays and beaches was really wonderful. The setting had a rural feel that made us feel at home. The owners made sure that we got to the cottage and provided a map of the island with recom-mendations. We enjoyed being able to cook breakfast in the cottage though we had to try out a different restaurant each evening. The world's best bioluminescent bay is on Vieques, almost in view of the cottage. It is truly a "must do" experience! This property was a great place to call home for 5 nights. We were in need of that slower pace. Thanks for blessing us with your special place.

We were looking for a place to completely relax with a beautiful view, kitchen, pool and privacy. This was the perfect choice. Access to their car was a great benefit, including airport pick up and drop off.
We had everything we needed to make our own meals, pack lunches, beach chairs and towels, cooler, etc. Shower was awesome - warm and great pressure which you don't always find with a rainfall shower.
Everything is so close, yet we were often the only people on the beaches and hikes.
Highly recommend it if you are looking for privacy, relaxation, pool, and amazing views!

This place was great for us. It's definitely much more spacious than the pictures imply, at least for us two. An amazing view overlooking the Eco Reserve, plus an outdoor covered area with a grill and bar where we cooked a few dinners. Also, this spot is central and is maybe a 7 minute drive to Esperanza and Isabel II, or any of the many beaches. We are coming back to the island and staying here next winter. K&B will give you total privacy but will also be available as soon as you text or call them.

This place was great! The private pool and deck area were where we spent all our time enjoying the sweeping views. The cottage itself was comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is also great, easy to reach both towns and close to some great beaches.

Super property -we had a wonderful couples getaway. Villa was very clean and had all the amenities you would ever need including a pool and beach gear. Views were amazing. Also a very short drive to all the beaches on the south and north sides of the island. Barb gave us great recommendations - the best of which was for Crystal Clear Eco-Tourism. Sarah and Reyga were absolutely outstanding. Vieques is a wonderful island and we will definitely be back!

Practically Perfect in Every Way
We loved our stay at Bonita Vista! The property was clean and well furnished, the location convenient, and the view stunning. The pool and pool bar/outdoor kitchen extended the living space of the studio guest house and when we weren’t at the beach, we spent lots of time there. Our hosts helped get us set up. We rented their car and Kris picked us up at the airport and gave us a brief tour of town showing us the gas station and grocery. At the property, Barbara gave us a map and highlighted several things to do / places to eat. Her recommendations were spot-on: Crab Island Distillery, El Blok rooftop bar, and El Quenepo and Tin Box restaurants were all delightful. Though the hosts’ house is just a little way past the pool, we had total privacy for our stay. Highly recommend Bonita Vista!

Beautiful home on a great location!
We enjoyed our stay. This beautiful casa overlooks the blue water and jungle. It was so close to many beaches - we didn’t have enough time to explore everything. We can’t wait to come again!

Kris & Barbara are great hosts. The property was even better than we anticipated. It was a perfect setting and oh so private, yet the location was so central, close to everything! My husband and I were sad to leave. We will be back to stay again at Bonita Vista, a little slice of paradise!

It was great being centrally located so we could easily explore the island at our own pace. Breathtaking and secluded beaches are just 10-15 minutes away! It was also nice to be located between the two “towns” so we could enjoy local shopping and cuisine.
We cannot recommend this property enough for a couple looking for a relaxing, romantic, and laid back vacation.
The hosts were helpful, friendly, and offered great recommendations.

Overall - wonderful ....with the exception of the entrance gate which because of weight and incline of the driveway at that point was difficult for seniors (+80) with partial disability to operate. The owners did offer to let us in/out when we felt the need and were extremely attentive to our somewhat special needs.

A short get away for the two of us.
My wife and I have been to the Caribbean many times, but this was the first time to Vieques, we enjoyed exploring and the lack of commercialization. We often travel with friends but this was a great place for a last minute trip for just us. Kris and Barbra were great hosts. We rented their car which was easier than dealing with a rental agency. The property is as advertised, great place and great time. .

Two Weeks in Paradise
We loved this place! Kris & Barbara were so responsive and helpful. They really have created a fun little cottage and work hard to keep it spotless. It was hard to leave when the time came to go. Renting their car was a great decision, as a vehicle is really needed in this location. Vieques was fun to explore, and we went all over. Be sure to spend time in both Isabelle II and Esperanza. (By the way, we loved the Bananas restaurant in Esperanza.) My husband had served in the Navy in Puerto Rico in the 70's and enjoyed seeing some of the places he had been way back then. Thanks for a lovely vacation!

Plantation with a view
This property offers privacy as well as beautiful distant views, from the breezy/shady/sunny warm pool deck. The bedroom bungalow is comfortable, systems are well thought out and sorted, has everything that’s needed to support a stay on the island whether you stay at home or are venturing out. Barbara and Kris are hospitality pros and they have a clear dedication to being members of and promoting the health and diversity of the island economy.

Paradise Found!!
Our stay at Bonita Vista for 9 nights in July surpassed all of our expectations, which were pretty high to begin with. The views at Bonita Vista were spectacular (even better than the wonderful pictures online) and the grounds around the cottage and pool bar were very well maintained and lush. The cottage was immaculate and quite spacious and cozy for 2. It had everything you could need to enjoy your vacation! The bed was super comfy, the shower was heaven, there was an abundance of towels -both bath and beach - a very well stocked kitchen with everything needed to cook a meal. Coolers, beach chairs, a large selection of snorkeling equipment, etc. were great for our beach days and exploring. After days at the beaches we would cool off in the pool and relax at the pool bar enjoying the breezes, views and the peace and tranquility of the island. The pool bar itself is an amazing structure with many design elements incorporated by Kris from artifacts found on Vieques and in his travels. A/C was very nice to have on some warm nights, WiFi worked great and we didn’t miss TV at all! It was wonderful to unwind and disconnect in this gorgeous and peaceful setting.
We rented Kris & Barbara’s SUV and it was so effortless and easy and highly recommend others doing the same. The car was in great shape and took us everywhere around the island with no problems. Kris picked us up at the airport and gave us a quick tour of Isabel Segundo. Barbara welcomed us and provided a map of Vieques and pointed out where restaurants, beaches and places of interest were located as well as giving us pointers and suggestions on things to do and where to eat.
Our restaurant favorites: Bili, Coqui Fire, Tin Box, Bigotes, El Quenepo, Rising Roost, Isla Nena Cafe (at the airport – amazing dumplings and rangoons), Bananas and Gracias De Nada.
Beaches: we have traveled all over the Caribbean but this was our first trip to Vieques and the beaches here were absolutely gorgeous!! There were a number of days that the 2 of us were the only ones on a beach!
Bio-bay Tour – OMG! This should be on everyone’s bucket list! This was so amazing we did it 2 nights in a row.
Kris & Barbara are exceptional hosts and were wonderfully welcoming, personable and accommodating and went of their way to make our visit special. We very much enjoyed our interactions with them and their 2 very sweet pups! We can’t wait to come back to Bonita Vista Cottage and amazing Vieques

This is an amazing place. It is exactly as advertised; pictures are very accurate. The view is fabulous and the pool is great to have for a dip after a day at the beach. Kris and Barbara are excellent hosts. They were always available by text, but we also had total privacy. Their house is visible from the pool deck but you never see them because doors and windows are on the other side of their house. The house is well stocked and we really appreciated the cooler, beach chairs and beach towels. Everything you need! Barbara gave us great steers about activities, beaches and restaurants. Definitely take her suggestions. The local grocery stores did not stock a lot of vegetables so it is worth going to the vegetable and fruit market on Fridays and Sundays. Also, go to get super fresh fish a the ferry dock. Beautiful rental on a magical island. Don't miss this!
