For our 3rd year in a row, we stayed at Nemo Cay townhomes for our annual student summer retreat. The staff at Padre Escapes has been great at helping us keep the cost affordable for our students and are readily available to help should we need it. I can't recommend them highly enough!

The location of the property is very convenient. The check in and out procedures as well as communication was excellent. We were able to walk to several really great restaurants. We absolutely loved being right by the pool. We took a day trip over to Port A, and the local beach was very easy to get to. The condo itself was mostly clean. Linens were clean. There are minimal linens. The bedding is very thin. For those people that want more than a coverlet at night, bring extra blankets. The unit would benefit from having more than one single towel per guest. Providing pool towels would also be a great addition. The outdoor patio COULD be really nice too, but only 3 chairs. There was nowhere in the unit to hang extra towels from pool and only one shower towel bar(can’t accommodate towels for all guests). I do think this unit could be excellent. Some things that would set it apart would be outdoor furniture, upgraded linens, and decor.

We always love the units at Nemo Cay. Great location & nicely maintained condos. We did find that most of the dishes in this unit were sticky & spotty, so we loaded ALL of them in the dishwasher when we got there. We also had issues with the Wi-Fi & the TVs are very hard to figure out (maybe provide instructions). Everything else was great- very clean, well equipped/stocked, comfortable beds & nicely decorated.

Upon arriving the unit had a strange smell inside. It did eventually go away after the second day. Other than the water pressure in both the shower and sink upstairs the place was great! Our unit faced the pool so it was easy to watch the kids and a short distance to go in and out to pool , playground and bbq area .

We stay in the area a lot and have stayed at many different condos but this has been by far the best! The condo was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and very clean! Most of the condos only provide you with things like TP, trash bags, etc to start off with but we were provided enough to last throughout the 4 days we were there. Also, when I had questions all I had to do with text in and they would answer my questions immediately. The best thing was our condo was ready early and I was sent a text as well as a phone call to let me know. This was the best hospitality I have experienced in a while. This is definitely 5 stars for me!

One group was pulling out beer bongs and had liquor bottles in the pool.. the other group had a large radio playing very loud music, like it was spring break. The location was perfect and the we have stayed at Nemo Cay before. The unit overall worked great for what we wanted but the living room furniture was worn out and not comfortable. My wife said it smelled like someone smoked inside. The pool was over crowded every afternoon and night well exceeding the capacity limits and so we were unable to use it most times. Limits were not being enforced but for our safety we stayed away. Check in and out was a breeze and the unit was for the most part clean.

Great clean place! Needed more toilet paper for our group of 9, they didn’t provide had to purchase on our own. Might be bc if the “times” we are living in. Netflix never worked upstairs for us. Bummer, but loved the place. Pool great and Whitecap beach very close, driving distance.

Weekend Getaway with Family
My husband and I rented a condo from Friday to Sunday to join other family members that rented a condo as well in the same complex. We did inform the property prior to checkin, if possible, we would like to check-in early, which unit was made available at 2:20 pm. Our truck was loaded with groceries that we picked up from Corpus Christi to make it easier then keeping everything cold from Houston. We arrived to find the freezer unable to open because it was frozen shut. We called the office to notify them because I had a lot of ice cream, ice and many other groceries to go in the freezer. At 4:30 still nobody there to repair freezer and we had to throw all ice cream and ice away. The maintenance department finally showed up around 5 pm. He had to shut down the refrigerator and said he would be back with a portable refrigerator. During his repair we found a foil pan on top of the refrigerator what looked liked meat that had been bbq prior to us staying there. I guess what was the upsetting part was, we are charged a cleaning fee or unit preparation fee and we arrive to find leftover dishes from previous renter, freezer unable to open and when we moved the living room table to put the baby blanket down for baby, there was chips and frootloops under table. What was the preparation for, because the inspection would have at least caught the foil pan of food and freezer. The office did offer to reimburse the ice cream lost with a receipt, which I thought I had but didn't because my husband threw the receipt away. On top of that, I received an email at 4:00 pm same day of check-in that the pool was closed due to Covid19. Why was this not mentioned during reservation or when signing contract? Covid19 has been going on for several weeks now. The beaches were open, so why mention the pools are closed now. We as parents and grandparents rent places for kids to be entertained. Therefore, it is very important to let them know at the time of reservations that the pool is closed. Now the park was open! My thoughts, if you close the pool due to Covid19, why wouldn't you close the park?? Last....our key pad to get into the house quit working on Saturday to get in the condo. It really wasn't a big deal for us because we weren't leaving but what if it was a mom and dad unpacking with baby inside, phone inside, no way to get in or call. We have the same key pads at work, the batteries go bad all the time.

Nemo Cay Resort Review
This property was in a great area, very close to beaches, restaurants, and stores. The pictures from the listing are accurate to how the condo looks, although there was a smell. The condo is supposed to be no smoking, but it seemed as though it still smelled of smoke as if someone smoked outside and then came in and sat on furniture and the smells transferred.
The condo was clean, other than the carpet on the stairs going upstairs. It was very worn and dirty. Would have been nice if they were the same laminate that was throughout the rest of the condo.
We really enjoyed walking out the back door and having the pool right out the door.
Check-in and check-out was very easy and convenient.
