About this condo rental
Located in Ridgeway, this lovely condo for $125 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Bear Paw Studio Retreat is located on a beautifully secluded 20 acre private forest, with only a two mile drive to Soldotna boasting an array of coffee shops, grocery and specialty shops and restaurants. Bear Paw is located in the lower level of our home, has a private entrance, designated parking and plenty of parking for tenant boats or extra vehicles. With king and queen beds in the sleeping area, Bear Paw Studio comfortably accommodates two to four guests. Bear Paw Studio is equipped with modern kitchen appliances and lovely Alaskan decor. Complete with a very large bear hide covering an entire wall! Black out window coverings provide sufficient darkness during our bright summer months allowing our guests to get a good night's sleep. There is a large freezer exclusively for guest use, which is particularly useful during fishing season. Fish cleaning, however, is prohibited on the premises, due to potential attraction of bears. During the summer months, Bear Paw is a perfect fisherman’s retreat. In winter, when snow is abundant, we maintain several cross country ski trails and have a fabulous sledding hill for those who desire snowy adventures. Bear Paw has something for everyone traveling to the Kenai or Soldotna area. Contact Jackie with any questions or for more information!

This property is an efficiency apartment on the ground floor of a lovely home. The owners are right upstairs and completely available to answer questions and assist with problems. In addition to the apartment, there are 29 acres of property, and I loved wandering around in the quiet and beauty. I would go there again anytime. Love. Love. Love!!

Excellent place to stay, a great home away from home. Quiet and peaceful. Full kitchen allowed us to cook many of our meals. Host was so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again!

Southern Hospitality in Alaska
Jackie and Jayson could not be more gracious or hospitable hosts! They helped arrange fish processing, offered a cooler, discussed the local eateries/breweries, etc. They are terrific individuals, and I'm confident they will do everything in their power to make your stay enjoyable. As for the accommodations, exactly what 4 grown men on a fishing trip were seeking. Clean, cozy, off the beaten path but less than 5 minutes to town, freezer for fish, fully-stocked kitchen, shower/tub combo, etc. You won't be disappointed!!

Jackie and Jayson went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a wonderful experience. We were contacted prior to our arrival to see if there was anything we needed in particular that they could provide for us, which was extremely thoughtful. The property was very clean and well laid out and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Jackie and Jayson made the stay so nice with their hospitality and were very welcoming. It’s a Gem! Super clean!
This was the perfect place to stay for our family. Everything was so clean and very comfortable . We had looked at several places in the Kenai Soldotna area and I’m glad we found this one. Owners had very good communication with us though our stay and even had fresh bread sitting on the table for us.

One of the best
I use VRBO a lot, all over the country. I travel for work more than I care to admit. This trip was a vacation and the last thing I wanted was a headache and Jackie came through with flying colors. Her friendly and helpful communication was perfect, her hospitality (even stocking a few treats in the room according to our preferences) was unrivaled in my experience. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean,
there was virtually no noise (which is nice when you're waking up at 3am to catch the tide for some salmon fishing and you come back at 2pm and you need a nap!). We even utilized Jackie's son Anderson for all of our fish processing needs.
We brought him 18 silver salmon and 8 Halibut and he did an awesome job for a fair price. The only complaint I heard from our group was regarding shower pressure. I am not that picky so I didn't really care, but one of the guys in our group would have preferred a stronger shower. Aside from that, I would absolutely recommend Jackie as a host and we will definitely be back!

This basement studio was lovely and immaculate. The furnishings and appliances were excellent quality. Our hostess could not have been more helpful. We loved our stay and would return here.

Retirement Chillin' in Alaska
Jackie & Jayson were wonderful hosts who provided us a clean comfy home base while we traveled the Kenai peninsula for 2 weeks. They went out of their way to make sure we had all we needed and were always available for questions regarding their beautiful part of Alaska. Thanks Kempf family for wonderful memories of our 1st trip to Alaska!

Our favorite place to stay in Alaska!
The location was perfect, we couldnt have picked a better spot! So peaceful and quiet! We walked into the apartment and were immediately impressed. It was extremely clean, and gorgeous! There were dishes in the cupboard, food in the fridge and pantry, books and movies on the shelves...it was like a home away from home. If you need a place to stay in soldotna, stay here, you will love I! I've never been to a nicer, or more comfortable, hotel! Thanks for everything Jackie!

Exceptional hospitality from Jackie and Jayson along with this super private and comfortable condo in the woods. We had excellent beds and a well equipped kitchen w a really quality gas stove which was fun since we cooked on our trip. J and J provided some really helpful tips on fun places to visit and hike and also on local restaurants. Highly recommend the Russian River hike as we saw the salmon jumping up the falls. Saw lots of great art and fishing! Really a great home away and we will stay there again when we get back to Soldotna.

The kitchen had everything we needed. We used the stove, oven, grill, washer and dryer. Jackie even had laundry soap and dryer sheets. They gave us advise on fishing locations, restaurants and even numbers to call to get fish counts. We caught fish and her son packaged it for us for a nominal fee. His name was Anderson and he did a better job packaging it than professionals. The property is a bit off the beaten track and was quiet as a result. It is just a few minutes from Town. I would highly recommend staying in the apartment. Thanks Jackie. I hope we get a chance to stay again!

Beautiful location, great studio and wonderful hosts
We stayed here for 2 nights in early June and loved every minute of it. Jackie and Jayson were on vacation during our stay so we didn't get to meet them, but communication was great - we had everything we needed and more. The apartment is sparkling clean and super comfortable. We enjoyed grilling the salmon they left for us in the freezer. This is the place to stay if you are going to be in the Soldotna area. I love to photograph wildlife and when we left, there was a moose in the yard posing for me. What a perfect ending to our stay.

Incredible Winter Retreat
We stayed at Jackie’s place for the weekend while visiting Soldotna for my wife’s birthday. The place was immaculate and just the perfect spot to get away from the noisy city. The bed was very comfortable, the place was quiet and it has everything we needed. Jackie was an incredible host. We recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway weekend!! Private, and cozy! Thank you Jackie for having us. We will be back!!

Perfect Rental for three days or three weeks
Property was exactly as depicted by Jackie, all the amenities of home in a secluded, safe, and beautifully scenic property minutes from Soldotna. Communication with Jackie was flawless, from the drive south from Anchorage to the parking area of our studio and all the details in between, we were well informed and amply prepared with Jackie's vast knowledge and support. If visiting Soldotna, you simply can not go wrong with booking your stay here. Our only disappointment was not having more time in Soldotna to experience all is has to offer.
We enjoyed our stay so much with Jackie we are counting down the days to our next visit in March 2018.
