Maria was very accommodating and got back to us promptly. There was room enough for the 4 of us to have our own space if when we wanted it. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. Good access to Oakland, Berkley and San Francisco. We would return to stay at Maria's place if in the area again.

This is a great property in a wonderful neighborhood. Maria, the host, was excellent and helped us out as needed throughout. We loved Alameda. The property was very convenient to great restaurants and coffee shops. It was also a great base for exploring San Francisco and nearby colleges.

Maria met us for a brief walk about at her beautiful home. She’s lovely and had everything ready for us earlier than the check in time.

We chose this historic property over the overpriced area hotels and we’re glad we did. Maria is an attentive but non intrusive hostess. She met us and provided a brief instructions and tour. The unit was well stocked, bright and comfortable and the location ideal, a short walk to most Alameda dining and shopping yer quiet and pleasant. As a historic house there’s creaks and clunk’s occasionally but that’s part of the charm.

Gorgeous historical type home. Great host.
Great location.
Nice introduction of California living. I was suprised there were no A/C system instaled. But one does not need A/C most of the time in the bay area (one night we could of used a/c ) but heat vawe was 110 in land when we took napa tours away from bay area. other in my group rented brand new home it also was not bult with A/C close to shoping at trader joes and other restaurants. Host Maria took the time to chat with my mom, but rearly seen other time of the 9 days we were there.

The flat is lovely, in a quiet neighborhood , yet you can easily walk to the shopping areas, a mall with groceries and Park Street with many restaurants and shops. The flat is furnished with charm and taste. Also equipped all for of your daily needs. There is a beautiful garden for a pleasant place to read and relax.
Marie is a gracious host, and answered all of our questions. There is a binder with menus of the local restaurants and things to do in the area.
We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great Space!
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. My main challenge was the internet connection which seemed to be very slow.

Repeat visit
I love this property. This is at least the fifth time I’ve stayed here. The apartment is lovely, fills like a home. Great walkable neighborhood. Quiet and safe. Maria is one of the most gracious hosts on vrbo.

Maria, is the perfect host, always helpful but stays out of your way unless you need her. She is an absolute gem. The home is well appointed and the location is right in the heart of town. I shall return.

Maria's house is a very special place to stay , a uniquely appointed Victorian with so many nice touches! Lots of beautiful black and white photos from the days when Alameda had it's Neptune's Palace outdoor pools and carnival where Crab Cove is today. What a wonderful time that was! And lots of little alcoves with charming Victorian decorations. Not to mention the views of the lagoon out of several windows, not to mention the spacious back yard.
Maria is a gracious host and provides lots of local information about places to go.
Thank you Maria for a relaxing and wonderful stay!

We stayed here for a week and had a very nice vacation in and around San Francisco.
The apartment is on the upper floor of a wonderful house at the end of a small street. The equipment and furnishings were very clean and harmonious. The space is more than sufficient.
Maria is the best landlord you can imagine. She was always very friendly and helpful.
If we come back to this area we will definitely stay here again.
Maria, thank you for everything.

The property is more beautiful than the online pictures show. Most VRBO properties we stay in are rentals - they are fine but usually nothing special. This place was a home. So comfortable and cozy and well appointed. It was a perfect place for our family to stay while visiting on Alameda. The location is wonderful, just a few blocks from the business district with tons of great restaurants and shops. And this location is a great place to call home if you want to go into San Francisco(take the ferry) or explore the mountains and beaches just a little further north. Maria was a lovely host. Thank you for making our trip so special.

Charming and met our needs
We enjoyed the holidays being close to our son there and love Alameda. This upstairs apartment is charming and as described. The kitchen is efficient though small and has everything you need but I did miss having a dishwasher. We spent most of the time there sight seeing and find this area convenient to most anywhere we wanted to go.

There were many problems with this flat. I had spider bites all over my face because there were no screens on the windows. I hit my head many times in the kitchen because of the placement of the cabinets. One of the doors opens to a 2 story fall to the driveway below. When you are out the owner will come to inspect every detail. The place was very dirty. You could see your finger marks in the thick dust everywhere. The furniture and cabinets were very cheap and difficult to use. With a small investment for repairs and upgrades these issues could be addressed.

We really enjoyed staying at Maria’s property. The house is beautiful and the location was very easy to get to. Great apartment and location
Great apartment very clean and plenty of space. I stayed 3 nights for business and will do so again on my next business trip to the Bay Area. A much better alternative to the lousy hotels in the area.

Great location, quiet, super clean, ideal regardless of plans!
Used this is an alternative to stupid hotel prices during San Fran conference. We like have some additional living space as well when possible so this was a win, win. At the end of a street it is very quiet. Restaurants (some very unique) are within walking distance. Grocery options are just a few blocks away. OAK is 15 minutes and the ferry going to Oakland, Pier 41 and San Francisco is just 15 minutes away. Getting around via vehicle is super easy and minimal traffic. The accommodations are great with a small kitchen, dining and living area. the two bedrooms are spacious. All in all, we cannot be more pleased with our decision. Maria is one of the nicest people you will meet. And she goes out of her way to be out of your way. While she is just a few steps away (below) she respects privacy but certainly makes you feel welcome. Thanx Maria! We hope to see you again!

Outstanding VBRO--great host, great location, great home
We have had a truly lovely stay here. Our host Maria has been very helpful with our delayed arrival, and flexible with our many requests. This is truly a beautiful home with every convenience here. The setting is so pretty, just a house away from the lagoon and just a 15 minute walk away from the San Francisco Bay. Saw an inspiring sunset the night before we left. This home is a short drive from a BART station and also a short drive from the pier for the ferry to San Francisco. This has been a great home base for our explorations of the San Francisco area as well as a trip to the Oakland As game. There are many restaurants and a grocery store and shopping area within walking distance.
The space was perfect for us-- two bedrooms, spacious bathroom, very functional kitchen, and very comfortable living area with dining table. The home is an example of a beautifully restored older home, respecting the history, combined with so many modern, thoughtful updates. We would give five more stars if we were able!

Greeted by Maria in the garden as we pulled up outside the property, she was very helpful and showed us around the upstairs flat. She was helpful with information about the area too. property was of a good standard and size, beds were very comfortable and facilities were all very good.

Very charming
Let me just start off by saying Maria is so sweet and truly cares about your stay. I do have a couple of cons but I’m still giving it five stars because it isn’t something Maria can control.
First let me just say that the home has a lot of charm and has been decorated nicely. And the backyard...that is the most beautiful part of the home. It is in a great location that is in walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach (I’ll be honest it wasn’t the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen).
As for a couple of cons, the home is 100 years old which adds charm but is VERY squeaky. The wood floors and the doors makes so much noise even if you tip toe on it. This was a problem for us because we have a 6 month old baby and it would always wake her up from nap or bed time. The home isn’t baby friendly because there wasn’t enough space to set her down. I also know this probably won’t happen to anyone else but the fridge broke on us so all of our food and milk went bad. That was a bummer for us and I’m sure for Maria. Also just a side note that it is over an hour drive to get to San Francisco.
Overall, I would recommend this flat if you don’t have little ones because it really is a great home. Thank you Maria for your hospitality!

5 Star Gorgeous Flat
This apartment exceeded my expectations in terms of cleanliness and the attention to detail by Maria. My only complaint is that to go into SanFran requires an uber and ferry ride daily two ways which does add up, but otherwise, this was my best home stay by far. Thanks Maria for taking such good care of your place. Pride of ownership is obvious and appreciated.

Terrific place in a great area
We stayed at Maria's house for six days and if we ever venture into the area again would definitely repeat it. Maria was really nice and made sure we were well taken care of. The house is charming and the setting is perfect. Alameda combined with this specific location offers so much for an experience in the Bay Area. Would highly recommend giving it a shot.
