At first it was a bit difficult to find as the building is part of a piazza (market place) which you have to enter from the main road.
The restaurant is on the ground floor, the reception for the rooms is on the first floor and the rooms higher up. The building is part of an ancient area with the castle of Scandiano just next door.
I did not just have a separate bathroom but it also had an adjacent sitting room and an entrance room with fridge (filled with bottles of water), coffee/tea machine and prepacked brioches and cakes to help yourself to, all for free! Such a nice surprise!
Also in the bathroom there was not only the usual hair caps and soaps but also shoe polish, body cream and even a hair comb (handy as I had forgotten mine), toothbrush and toothpaste available!
In the bedroom and adjacent sitting room a beautiful parquet floor, slippers waiting for you to use them.
I had not seen such complete luxury setting anymore since I stayed at business 5* hotels in Switzerland 30 yrs ago...

I would have loved a super duper breakfast in such a nice setting but alas I got a ticket for a breakfast in the bar on the other side of the market place.
This probably explains why it is only a 3 star in the end...
Even though I learnt many years ago that this is a typical breakfast for Italians...
Something that might bother (but I didn't need it) was the fact there didn't seem to be any air conditioning.

Sehr nette Menschen, ein so so so süßes Apartment. Ich war sehr begeistert. Absolut charmant, stilvoll und sauber. Im Vorraum gab es sogar Snacks und Getränke im Kühlschrank.
Ich kann die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen!
Das Frühstück gegenüber war auch lecker!

Locanda carinissima, la camera molto grade era all'ultimo piano di un vecchio fabbricato che affaccia sulla piazza del paese. Al ptimo piano c'è il risotorante della locanda dove si mangia benissimo. Personale eccezzionale.
Nessuna nota negativa da apportare, se non l'ascensore fuori uso (cose che capitano). La colazione si fa fori struttura a un bar convenzionato a 30 metri dalla locanda.

La struttura è molto bella, centralissima e pulita, con una posizione eccellente nel cuore di Scandiano. La colazione, servita nel bar di fronte alla piazza, è ottima e il personale del bar è estremamente cordiale.
Il servizio di accoglienza è decisamente al di sotto delle aspettative, al punto da compromettere l’esperienza complessiva. Il check-in è rigidamente limitato a determinati orari, con chiusura totale il martedì pomeriggio e la domenica pomeriggio. Questo sarebbe accettabile se fosse chiaramente indicato sul sito prima del pagamento, ma scoprirlo solo dopo aver prenotato è inaccettabile. Nel mio caso, ho dovuto ricorrere a conoscenze locali per ritirare le chiavi il martedì mattina, altrimenti mi sarei trovato nell’assurda situazione di aver pagato senza poter accedere alla struttura.
Un altro punto critico riguarda il ristorante di proprietà della struttura: nonostante fosse uno degli elementi che avevano influenzato la mia scelta, non ho potuto provarlo perché sempre pieno. Se un ospite sceglie una struttura anche per la possibilità di cenare nel ristorante annesso, dovrebbe essere garantita una prenotazione o almeno un’informazione chiara su come accedervi.
In molte altre strutture in cui ho soggiornato, i gestori si sono sempre premurati di fornire tutte le informazioni necessarie per sfruttare i servizi indicati sul sito. Qui, invece, l’ospite viene lasciato a sé stesso.
Un vero peccato, perché con un’accoglienza più attenta e una gestione più professionale, questa potrebbe essere una delle migliori soluzioni di soggiorno in zona.
